We set up an appointment for the following day and he arrived on time. He was charismatic, knowledgeable and professional. He emailed me within 24 hours with an estimate and I sent in my deposit electronically shortly thereafter. But it seems once they had my money they no longer felt they needed to respond promptly. I waited 10 days with no follow up and then began calling their office. Occasionally someone answered and took a message, mostly my calls went straight to voicemail. I also tried contacting them through emails, also with no response. After 2 more weeks of leaving word with a spotty receptionist, voicemails and emails the owner, Sarath Jerome, finally called me back, more than 3 weeks after I gave his company a deposit. A team of 4 or 5 men came the following day and completed most of the work. They promised to return the next week to complete the job. They asked for 2/3 of the total cost of the project before they left and we wrote them a check. A week passed and no one returned to complete the job or to even follow up by phone or email. So once again i began calling and emailing with no response. 10 days after they worked on our project I finally got an email from the owner saying he was busy and had just then begun reviewing his emails. He said he would get back to me. Another week or so passed before he returned my email and said someone would be at our house to finish the job on June 30. I prepped the space for the work and nobody showed up. By 1:00 pm I called and emailed to find out what was going on. Jerome replied half an hour later and said that his employee would be at my home by 3:00. No one ever showed up. I emailed Jerome around 5 and asked what happened. He said his guy got caught up on a job and could he come the next day @ 10:00 a.m.?Jerome said he would be there as well. Angry and frustrated but just wanting my project finished, I agreed. No one showed up the following day either. I sent Jerome an email around noon again and inquired as to where he and his employee were. I never got a response. I sent him an email the following day and expressed my annoyance. He has never gotten back to me. We have a friend that is a contractor who was too busy to do the job but who came over to look at what Old Bay Remodeling had done. He said he didn't think the work was up to code and could potentially be a hazard. My recommendation to anyone thinking about using Old Bay Remodeling is not to use this company. They were recommended by Angi's List, so i assumed they were fully vetted. What a mistake that was!

He mentioned that they were booked for the season. Joe responded after a few days saying that an availability opened up and should be able to wash my deck in a couple of weeks. He kept me informed the whole time. I was given all the instructions and what to expect before their visit. On the scheduled date, their crew came and power washed the deck thoroughly. Next day, they promptly showed up and stained it. Overall, I was impressed with the service and the price. I would recommend them without any hesitation.

Also, they were to power wash my deck and seal it. The windows needed special attention because spiders build webs in the windows then poop all over them. It's really gross, and I especially hired Grime Busters to take care of this problem. I specified this as the reason I was getting my house pressure washed. As such, I was told to remove all of my window screens to ensure the best results. So when they were finished, imagine my anger when I looked in my upstairs window and it looked as if water hadn't touched the window at all. OK. We all make careless mistakes. I called and someone came back out to inspect the job of the previous person. Agreed they didn't do a good job, but he didn't come back with a pressure washer to fix the problem! He asked me to use my pressure washer...uhh, WHAT? That's not all. The original washer also left whole areas of my deck unwashed then sealed over them. You could look and tell the angle he washed the stairs and balusters - imagine the sun casting a shadow is the best way I can describe it. So of course when he sealed the deck, whole areas of the deck didn't get sealed, because they weren't washed properly. I was also told the seal would last (assuming proper washing, of course) for 3-5 years. Even on the areas I felt were properly washed, rain water stopped beading on the deck within weeks. The last thing is they were to restain my white deck railings, and they did this, but sloppily. I have white wood railings on white (pvc? plastic-like) balusters. The white stain for the wood can be seen on the plastic -like balusters. In all, while I appreciated their attitude and they were very respectful, I paid $2500 to have a job done well and it was not. And returning without the equipment to correct the problem was pretty inexcusable.

He asked for pictures of the windows; I obliged by texting several pictures to him and confirming how many windows needed attention. He arrived late the day of my appointment and, upon seeing the windows in person, said that he did not realize that my windows were brown; the caulk that he brought was white. He said it would be best to go and get the proper color caulk and looked up hardware stores near my residence. He found that there were three within a mile of my house. He leaves to go buy the caulk, calls me 20 minutes later and says that he decided to go to Home Depot -- which is at least 6 miles and 25 minutes away. When he returns and completes the work, he charges me for the time spent going to and from Home Depot. I expressed that I should not pay for him being unprepared, but unwilling to argue with a man I had just met, I paid the invoice. I am grateful not to have done the work myself, but would not recommend working with this young man without a firm commitment about the price and his preparedness. I received offers from other vendors willing to complete the work and recommend that anyone thinking of hiring this gentleman explores their options before settling.

Mike took out the old tiles and the bathtub and gave us a beautiful modern shower stall that looks like it came out of a magazine for bathroom remodels.
