Family Music Studios provides a great environment which fosters music appreciation. We did Music…read moreTogether with Ms. Colleen for several years when my kids were young (infant-3.5yr). She understands that kiddos are at different developmental stages and knows how to engage even the most unwilling participants. The kids are listening, watching, and absorbing. My oldest was more of an observer and didn't like to dance, but he loved the other different musical experiences (play along, scarves, parachutes, bells and more). I love that Ms. Colleen introduced different instruments to the children; both kids enjoyed strumming the auto harp at the end of every class. My youngest loved when Ms. Colleen would play the violin in class. During the play along time, my child (then 2.5 yr) would "play the violin" with the drumsticks found in the instrument pile. Ms. Colleen noticed that and equipped us with the tools we needed to help that love for the violin grow. My kiddo, now 5, has 'graduated' from Music Together and now she has enjoyed violin lessons for the last year. Playing the violin is her favorite thing to do. Thank you, Music Together and Ms. Colleen for helping our family grow musically!

The Musik box is a pretty unique concept that really draws upon a lot of low-level things humans…read morereally thrive when they have it. Since I didn't have a lot of music training or general incorporation past early years, I feel like this has been a pretty magical experience of professionalism, well-researched theory, practical application, and most importantly joy to my child. We've been coming for over a year now and mostly kept with it in that duration, only taking a break for a small while during holidays. The Jamisons and co. that run the place really are passionate about their work and use well-defined structure with silliness to keep the kids engaged and thinking constantly using their methodologies. Really, the value is pretty great and while it can be a bit on the pricey side for those that are on the fence. While traditionally you may only have 1 parent relegated to taking to a "feeling" kind of class, it's really welcoming (and encouraged!) for all family members that want to join. Some of that value you that isn't on the box is building a community of people walking the same steps you are. Between the developmentally appropriate learning, lots and lots of options as far as times/days/age-ranges, and generally a well-put-together program - I'd wholeheartedly recommend parents give it a try if you can afford it!

We started with weekly lessons not really knowing what to expect from a new teacher in a new place. My son started really enjoying his lessons with Tim and we started seeing or really hearing the progress. We fell in love with the song choices Tim was picking for him and my son was thriving. He started picking up the guitar in his own to practice without us telling him to. It makes all the difference when you have the right teacher to challenge you in all the right ways and that's been Tim. We see his passion for the music and for his students. He goes the extra mile for them as well. You won't be sorry hiring Tim to learn guitar. Consider it the best thing you'll do for yourself or your student. And now that he's offering at home lessons is the cherry on top.

The piano was in great shape and after playing it for almost a month it actually sounds better than I thought.
