I considered not writing a review, but felt with so many options out there for air conditioning and heating, it would be irresponsible not to. Marvel Air was hired to add an entire new system to our home, complete with new ducting. They gave us a competitive bid, and the work was done in a timely manner. The work crew was good. They were respectful and knowledgeable. The new system itself was louder than I anticipated and I called the company out several times to tweak it. They were responsive and helped me out. Then the condenser outside (American Standard) started making a horrible noise after a few days. I complained to Gerry, the owner, and he basically told me I was exaggerating and would never be happy. We decided to move the condenser to the other side of the house and paid for that, mainly because of how loud it was. After it was moved and turned back on, the loud noise started again and Gerry came out to investigate. He said something to the effect of, wow the fan is going backwards, that must have been loud. I felt like my previous complaint of the loud noise was dismissed but here he was validating that it was loud. No offer to discount the condenser move. They installed a new unit under warranty. While I was frustrated getting a quiet and working AC was taking longer than I wanted, I was happy to get a replacement. Fast forward 6 months later after I had a renovation done on my home, we turned the system back on and it did not cool the house. Called out Marvel again and Luis the technician came out to try to fix. He diagnosed a possible faulty valve and that was replaced by the end of the week. Still the system did not cool, and we were told by our contractor that there was most likely a leak. The contractor insisted they did not touch the system, however I knew with all the work we had done that the renovation company probably had something to do with the problem. Luis agreed there may be a leak inside the wall and said the company would be calling me to schedule a reroute of the Freon piping since my renovation had made locating any leak inside the walls impossible to access. I fully planned to pay for the rerouting. I understood that the renovation most likely messed the Freon piping up. Luis even called me on Saturday to check in and asked if the office had called me. I said no. Then this morning after I left a message asking when they could come out to repipe, I received a long, inaccurate, slandering email from the owner, Gerry. Honestly, I was not surprised. I had had good communication and rapport with the office (Shawna was great) and technicians and installation crew. But my communication with Gerry, while cordial, felt chauvinistic and condescending. I also read another review here about an inappropriate email. So this appears to be a pattern. The email was unprofessional, childish, and inaccurate. It chronicled every interaction I had with the company in a tone that indicated I was being unreasonable that my system was really loud or not working properly. It said I was "nasty" to the office staff which is laughable as I said thank you and I appreciate you several times on every single call. Again, as this is the second review about a disrespectful email from the owner, I suggest you choose a different company for your AC/Heating needs. I would like to add that I have had a lot of work done on several properties, and have dealt with many companies. I have had no issues with any of them and have given them five star reviews. Oh, and btw Gerry will work hard to get this review removed, as he told me during a story about another customer. You've been warned. read more

A very professional company, I had my whole HVAC system replaced by them one year ago and I just called for my check up before the one year is due. They did an excellent job on the install on the follow ups on my yearly check up. This is a great company. I wish everybody was like this. When my gas utility bill for January 2023 came to $560, I decided that we needed to change our natural gas powered furnace for something more economical and environmentally friendly. My wife and I interviewed six heating and air conditioning companies, Marvel had an approach and that we liked, and was able to clearly explain the process of change over to a heat pump system clearly. Their price for a high quality American Standard system was among the lower cost estimates we received. They acquired the equipment promptly and completed the installation in two+ days with workers who were clean, courteous and efficient. Three months later our gas bills (for water heating) have all been under $50. One was under $15. Our electrical bills have not gone up, thanks to the solar panels we installed several years ago. read more

Our a/c went out during this terrible heatwave. The temp in the house was 92 for several days. We are caring for my 94 year old mother and really needed help. I can't say enough good things about Marvel. They installed my ac unit 9 years ago and have maintained it since then. I even recommended my brother and they installed his unit. As for today, I called them in the morning and they were able to squeeze me in. My unit was not blowing cold. Luis came by with his mask on and started to troubleshoot. He found the compressor working but not the fan. Within minutes he saw that the capacitor was blown and replaced it. My ac is now working. He checked everything including the supply and return with a thermometer (which is important). Very friendly and professional. Marvel made a repair call to replace fuse - 5 minutes to do. Paid $125 service call. Technician noted that fan unit was starting to fail because of noise it was making. Likely it was blower fan and motor out of balance or bad bearings. Technician failed to take down make, model or serial number. Three days later on Monday, noise was significantly worse. I called and they sent technician 2 days later to come AGAIN for model/serial/measurements. They failed to call back. I called again. They replied that repair was $732, then called again to amend that to $1200 for fan and motor. ALSO it would be 5 days until they could return to repair. Seem to be nice people --but too disorganized, excessive time to repair, and too expensive. I have 5 houses locally - so that business lost for them. read more

Oscar, was on point because he could see that I was tired (up all night) and said, Mr. Shiver all I need to know is where the units and the breaker box are at and you just find a place to rest because we got from here on out. This reassurance allowed me to let them do their job without any interruption from me, so I went to the garage and slept while they got into the ring and began to battle. Wish I knew about these guys earlier, I got their name on a recommendation. Their bid was actually lower than some of the "Big Names," but damn they did a fantastic job!!! I live in an older house that I had AC put into years ago. Over the years you can tell something was just not right. These guys came in and put in a new system. It has never worked so well. It took them 3 days to completely rip out the old system and install a new one, prompt, courteous and the crew was always working. 5 stars is not good enough for these guys. I highly recommend Marvel Air-conditioning, Inc. from initial encounter with Gerry, who was pleasant, respectful, professional & knowledgeable. After his assessment of my AC/Heating needs, he presented me with scenarios & pros/cons of each. As promised, a few days later, he emailed me 3 different option proposals for my review & consideration based on my needs/budget. His pricing I would say was very competitive, with all things considered (I had a total of 6 contractor proposals with each contractor provided 2 or 3 options; Gerry's is not the cheapest but definitely not the most expensive). After a decision was made, I called the office & a very enthusiastic Mel scheduled the install date on July 10-12, 2018 (3 days), not bad for removal of old & install of new AC outdoor condenser, new indoor furnace, new grills, new thermostat & new air ducts housewide. Installation day was when I met Luis & Enrique who eventually did the whole project. I must admit, I was impressed with how these guys were almost like Gerry, pleasant, respectful, professional & knowledgeable. They answered all my questions even in the middle of what they're doing. This conveys respect to their customers. And as the day goes along, Luis updated me of how things are going, without being asked. Same thing on the 2nd & 3rd/final day of the project. I believe budget is one of the biggest factors in deciding which contractor to go with, with such a big home investment purchase. But I would say TRUST is something that can't be bought, thus, my ultimate deciding factor in my selection of Marvel. I watched him perform his checks on the problem I was having and he told me that he likes when a customer watches him, he said that way they can see exactly what work is being done. The total price for new AC, furnace, replacing the old ducts and all grills was extremely competitive price and they give a 10 year warranty on parts and 5 or 10 year warranty on labor depending on the options selected. With the attention to detail, honesty, the competitive price and excellent warranty, we chose to go with Marvel over other 4 quotes. Also, there is no interest if pay in full within 12 months through Wells Fargo Bank. All the work was done in 3 days as promised. Extremely fast job and the workmanship were topnotch. We went up the attic to inspect their work and we found that it just was so neat, clean and flawless. Trane AC unit is so quiet, powerful with high energy efficiency. We bought a new AC and Heating system to upgrade our old one on 2016 from Marvel. Recently noticed that it was not cooling as good as it had and called for a service call. The technician arrived and checked out everything and we found an issue with a cooling coil. The coil had a factory defect and the tech said it needs to be replaced and he had to order a new one. He charged our system and said soon we would get a call to replace the coil. No Charge for anything. This was a new Trane system and their service was quick and honest read more
