I had a great experience and was really impressed with Martinson Piano Moving. I will admit I was lucky with the delivery timing: I purchased a Yamaha Clavinova on Sunday, on Monday I got a call to schedule delivery for Wednesday. The delivery crew called at the beginning of the delivery window to let me know they were a few minutes out. (The previous delivery was in the same neighborhood.) Generally my dog is pretty terrified of large furniture and boxes moving around, but the guys brought the bench in first and took time to greet our pup. They each had a couple of doggie treats handy, so by the time they brought the unboxed and fully assembled piano through the house, our dog was happy to welcome our new instrument. I am very pleased with the service. They took great care of the piano during the move, and suggest alternatives when the original plan didn't work. The route from the garage to the bedroom has a very tight turn, and they suggested to enter the room from the porch which has 3 steps. They have ramps to help to overcome the steps and did not charge extra! They also gladly helped to make small adjustment to the piano per my request. With regards to protecting the flooring, they suggest some quality caster cups which they were carrying in the truck and helped install them. They did not have the cheapest quote based on my research but definitely worth the money. I will recommend them to anyone who needs piano moving service. read more

Update: I have to completely change my review! Martinson went above and beyond to fix the situation. They sent out a new team to pick up the piano, fixed the cracked leg, and returned it within one week. In all interactions, they were extremely respectful and apologetic. I appreciate businesses like this who do the right thing by their customers. Synopsis of original post: Martinson moved a family heirloom piano from Snohomish to Seattle today, and it arrived with a cracked leg. They told us "it was cracked", but did not tell my mother, who was at home in Snohomish when they picked it up, that it was cracked. "Great" does not begin to explain how well they did. "Outstanding" is more like it. I was originally quoted between $300-$330, which was later discovered to be incorrect, and should have been much higher at $580. Because I was quoted at the lower price, they stayed there. They didn't do any hidden fees or raise the price unexpectedly. I was charged $370, which I believe to be an excellent price considering things. They were incredibly professional and quick. They got to the pick up location, loaded up the piano in maybe 5 minutes, same thing for the drop off, 5 minutes. No damages occurred, no hassles, no issues. Outstandingly done. I grew up in a home where we'd NEVER trust a regular moving company with a piano. After hiring Martinson yesterday, I'm very glad we went straight to the pros. Our upright is BEASTLY, and it was no easy feat getting it into a small Seattle home with narrow front steps and multiple tight turns. They also sell cups that can protect your floor if you're not prepared (which we weren't), and left us with a list of registered piano technicians and advice for when to get the piano tuned. Do know that email communication might not be the best avenue. A phone call will be a much faster path to scheduling. read more

After calling around getting several quotes over $1500 to move my grandma's piano from Bellevue to Olympia I decided to schedule with Martinson who quoted me $560. They were on time, quick, competent, friendly and helpful and even gave my dog much wanted attention. We had to call a few times to get someone on the phone, but once we did, we were able to easily get a quote and set up a time and date for the move. However, they were so busy that we had to schedule about a month out. On the day of the move, they were on time and their moving process was extremely efficient. We had them move the upright piano up two flights of stairs and it only took them a little over 10 minutes from parking in front of the house to having the piano in place. They were very professional and friendly. Additionally, they charged a little under what they quoted, which was nice. Overall, great experience and company. Great service! These individuals delivered my piano after I purchased it from Classic Pianos in Bellevue. The only complaint I had was that the delivery date was a few days later than when the store had originally communicated, but once the piano was on its way, the individuals came on time and delivered the piano super quickly. To be fair, my piano is a hybrid so my delivery was a lot easier than an acoustic one, but it was still a fast and effortless delivery. Would definitely use them again! read more

Very disappointed. We have tried on 2 different occasions to book them. Both times, they didn't respond to voicemail we left or their website quote requests. The first time, when we finally talked to them, they just weren't nice, like people who didn't really care about getting the business. And, their price was signofocantly higher, compared to a competitor. On a 3rd occasion, I was there when they delivered a piano for an event. The crew was meticulous in the setting up the piano and was very knowledgeable about pianos. They were willing to move the piano into the spot that fit best in the room. Super easy to work with I purchased a grand piano recently in Lynnwood and it moved to my home in Federal Way. I had bids ranging everywhere from $350 to $900 to move this puppy, and having never done this before, I was a bit wary about hiring baboons or getting ripped off... or BOTH. I can tell you, that Martinson not only came in UNDER their max bid, but they handled my baby with the utmost care and professionalism. This morning ,they came on time and started to work very efficiently. Hed guy knew exactly what to do and sized the area correctly instantly. Piano weight 700# and had stairs to pull it up but all surfaces were protected. He gave me an instruction how to clean,and asked if I knew a piano tuner. This is a very old piano but he knew it well and showed me when it was tuned and pointed out the serial number. I can trace it back to where it came from !! How exciting.
