I had a great experience and was really impressed with Martinson Piano Moving. I will admit I was lucky with the delivery timing: I purchased a Yamaha Clavinova on Sunday, on Monday I got a call to schedule delivery for Wednesday. The delivery crew called at the beginning of the delivery window to let me know they were a few minutes out. (The previous delivery was in the same neighborhood.) Generally my dog is pretty terrified of large furniture and boxes moving around, but the guys brought the bench in first and took time to greet our pup. They each had a couple of doggie treats handy, so by the time they brought the unboxed and fully assembled piano through the house, our dog was happy to welcome our new instrument. Erik and Mike couldn't have been more friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with the piano setup and a quick orientation. I would definitely use Martinson Piano moving again. I wouldn't trust any other company with my Steinway B. Highly reputable, first class service. These guys know what they're doing. I'm a former concert pianist and I trust these guys with my piano! read more

I am very pleased with the service. They took great care of the piano during the move, and suggest alternatives when the original plan didn't work. The route from the garage to the bedroom has a very tight turn, and they suggested to enter the room from the porch which has 3 steps. They have ramps to help to overcome the steps and did not charge extra! They also gladly helped to make small adjustment to the piano per my request. With regards to protecting the flooring, they suggest some quality caster cups which they were carrying in the truck and helped install them. They did not have the cheapest quote based on my research but definitely worth the money. I will recommend them to anyone who needs piano moving service. read more

They are the best, even when bad things happen. With a steep incline and lots of steps, witnessing the Martinson team at work is like watching a ballet. They find the best route and make moving an old 800 pound upright or a new 7'4" grand look like a dance. When the unthinkable happens - a once-in-thirty-five-years piano destroying traffic accident - they handle it with sensitivity and care. When gifting my mother's old upright to a family was stymied by a traffic accident, Martinson committed to finding an equivalent piano so that the recipient still gets the gift of music. Plus Eric Martinson made time for my husband, sister and me to visit their warehouse to say good bye to our mother's piano. They get that pianos are part of the family. I trust them with precious cargo. read more

Update: I have to completely change my review! Martinson went above and beyond to fix the situation. They sent out a new team to pick up the piano, fixed the cracked leg, and returned it within one week. In all interactions, they were extremely respectful and apologetic. I appreciate businesses like this who do the right thing by their customers. Synopsis of original post: Martinson moved a family heirloom piano from Snohomish to Seattle today, and it arrived with a cracked leg. They told us "it was cracked", but did not tell my mother, who was at home in Snohomish when they picked it up, that it was cracked. At the very least, they should own up to their mistake and try to find some way to remedy the situation. read more

"Great" does not begin to explain how well they did. "Outstanding" is more like it. I was originally quoted between $300-$330, which was later discovered to be incorrect, and should have been much higher at $580. Because I was quoted at the lower price, they stayed there. They didn't do any hidden fees or raise the price unexpectedly. I was charged $370, which I believe to be an excellent price considering things. They were incredibly professional and quick. They got to the pick up location, loaded up the piano in maybe 5 minutes, same thing for the drop off, 5 minutes. No damages occurred, no hassles, no issues. Outstandingly done. Thank you, Martinson Piano Company, for staying true and honest, and for delivering my piano in perfect condition, I could not be happier. If you're needing your piano stored or moved, but you're concerned about it getting damaged, this company is for you. I was too, worried, but it all worked out without any issues! read more

Nice crew, efficient service, excellent work! I have an up-right piano (weight more than 500 pounds) moved by them from the second floor. They carefully took care of the piano at each stair step. The whole moving completed smoothly and shortly than I expected, and reasonable and competitive charge. The interesting thing, I was told by the crew leader, he recalled they helped the delivery of the same piano at when I bought it 8 years ago. Two sharp turns of stair made them a deep impression, I definitely will ask them for the next move by their quality assurance. read more

Wonderful crew we had the opportunity to work with. They took away our old upright and moved in our new baby grand. They worked with us on optimal piano placement and gave us tips for caring for our new piano. Would definitely recommend. read more

I grew up in a home where we'd NEVER trust a regular moving company with a piano. After hiring Martinson yesterday, I'm very glad we went straight to the pros. Our upright is BEASTLY, and it was no easy feat getting it into a small Seattle home with narrow front steps and multiple tight turns. They also sell cups that can protect your floor if you're not prepared (which we weren't), and left us with a list of registered piano technicians and advice for when to get the piano tuned. Do know that email communication might not be the best avenue. A phone call will be a much faster path to scheduling. read more

Martinson Piano expertly moved our piano from upstairs to downstairs with winding stairs and no problems. Best possible experience.

From my first phone call for an estimate to the piano being positioned in my house, this was a very smooth deal. The price was lower than others, and everything was very professional. They were on time, took great care, and generally were just great to work with! read more

Wow, great job! They were prompt, courteous and even advised on how to care for the piano in its new location. Provided a local tuner's information. It is great to see the two young men who worked alongside the uncle. Great attitudes and teamwork. Inspiring. Keep it up Martinson! I will be referring others to use your service for sure! read more

I have used Martinson Piano moving to move my old piano to a different room and to move in my new piano. They were very cautious. They came into our house to check the route to make sure that we had enough space to move the piano. After they moved the piano, they confirmed with me to see if I was satisfied. They adjusted as I wanted. Through out the entire process, they were very courteous and patient. They also answered many questions from my curious kids. We were very happy with them, and would love to recommend them. read more

Super! Fast, affordable and anticipated all my questions. He brought casters and a list of local piano tuners. Really grateful for this business. read more

I am very impressed with how great Martinson Piano Moving was when they moved my old baby grand piano today. They handled my piano with care & were very professional. I was surprised how fast it took for them to get it to its new location. Something I didn't know & wish I had; they store pianos for only $65/month! That's so much less than renting a regular heated storage space! read more

Absolutely wonderful service. Top quality move and wonderful customer service. We had to move to Vashon Island and they handled everything with such care. Amazing price, as well. read more

Darin, Michael, and Drew took gentle care of my humongous Knabe grand with nary a scratch nor dent to piano nor drywall. And they did so most speedily. And Jay in the office was efficient and personable. Thanks, guys. Two thumbs up! read more

After calling around getting several quotes over $1500 to move my grandma's piano from Bellevue to Olympia I decided to schedule with Martinson who quoted me $560. They were on time, quick, competent, friendly and helpful and even gave my dog much wanted attention. They ended up charging me $530 even after having to maneuver around a really tight corner at my apartment. Definitely will hire them again for my next move (as long as it's not further south than Olympia :p)! read more

Martinson Crew impressed me. I had 1902 ABChase Full Upright Player Piano to move with stairs from the other house to my house a split level. They knew exactly what they were doing and did not leave a scratch. They were able to avoid most of the stairs by using ramps. They cared about my property and me. Thanks guys!!! We had to call a few times to get someone on the phone, but once we did, we were able to easily get a quote and set up a time and date for the move. However, they were so busy that we had to schedule about a month out. On the day of the move, they were on time and their moving process was extremely efficient. We had them move the upright piano up two flights of stairs and it only took them a little over 10 minutes from parking in front of the house to having the piano in place. They were very professional and friendly. Additionally, they charged a little under what they quoted, which was nice. Overall, great experience and company. Would definitely use them again for moving my piano! read more

I called at least 10 different piano technicians and stores to get a referral for a piano moving company in king county they would recommend. 100% of the referrals were for just one name: Martinson's Piano moving company. when a company is that bar-none in referrals AND the word of mouth has people saying things like "They are the only company i work with" or words zoom out like "best inthe business" without you soliciting specifics to why they prefer a certain company....it's really impressive. from what their website says, they are piano moving and storage. all i know is that their moving men were extremely professional, prompt, and knew what they were doing. almost like one machine they took care of a delicate and difficult instrument with so much ease that they really impressed my sister. we are both giving them rave reviews and hoping yelpers looking for piano movers in king county will call Martinson's and only Martinson's. PS-Jay who kept handling my calls to their Bellevue branch was so nice-even when my cell phone kept dropping our conversations he was patient and very sweet. read more

These folks are amazing. Very careful, efficient, totally professional, and very nice people. Eric and Kyle moved our piano in no time without a hitch. After struggling with other piano movers over the past 8 years in our various moves, Martinson delivered the best moving service, the best price, and the fastest turnaround. Their expertise shows by how carefully they handled our piano. Martinson even only starts to charge when their movers get to the door, which is refreshing. They also gave us a list of piano technicians and recommended a trusted piano restorer in the area when we asked about these services. Would definitely have Martinson as our go-to piano movers in the future! read more

Great service! These individuals delivered my piano after I purchased it from Classic Pianos in Bellevue. The only complaint I had was that the delivery date was a few days later than when the store had originally communicated, but once the piano was on its way, the individuals came on time and delivered the piano super quickly. To be fair, my piano is a hybrid so my delivery was a lot easier than an acoustic one, but it was still a fast and effortless delivery. Would definitely use them again! read more

The best piano movers and the price was the most reasonable! Couldn't get better. Great service from the moment I called. Very easy to get an estimate. I got 4-5 more estimates with others and they were the lowest. It was just simple, no "we start charing you from point A to point B and extra if blah blah.." They came on time and well equipped. Flawless execution. Put the piano in the right place, had casters that looked nice with my floors. The price is more than fair. I would not go with anyone else... ever! read more

Did not respond to inquiries for quote via website. Called multiple times over the course of the week, did not pick up, did not call back in response to several voice mails. Disappointed because this company came recommended by a few friends. read more

Very disappointed. We have tried on 2 different occasions to book them. Both times, they didn't respond to voicemail we left or their website quote requests. The first time, when we finally talked to them, they just weren't nice, like people who didn't really care about getting the business. And, their price was signofocantly higher, compared to a competitor. On a 3rd occasion, I was there when they delivered a piano for an event. Again, not cheerful, and one even complained about one of the other workers. I have given up on them, and I really don't know how they could possibly have a 5-star rating. read more

Absolutely professional and the most honest, reasonable pricing in the area. I needed a piano moved from one house to another house only a few miles away and called five different moving companies in the area. Four out of five of those places quoted me $300-500 for the move. It was obvious they didn't want my business for such a short move. Martinson's quoted me $145 and when it was all said and done that's exactly what it cost. They were upfront and honest about timing, pricing and schedule. They were respectful and careful in my home around my furniture and, most importantly, they were experts on how to move a piano carefully. This is a really honest, good company to work with. I highly recommend. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but after this experience, I felt that it was my duty to commend this amazing piano moving company. I had a different company cancel last minute on me, two times in a row. I was extremely frustrated that so much of my time was wasted that I decided to give up on them altogether. I came upon Martinson Piano Moving after doing some more searching and I was glad that I did. Luckily, I got an appointment within a week, even though they usually book two weeks out. These friendly guys were on time (early, actually!), efficient, knowledgeable, and reliable. They moved my baby grand safely and without scratching up my new floors. They even gave me a list of piano tuners in case I didn't already have one. They gave me tips on things I should do to upkeep my piano. All this, and they quoted me lower than other companies. I would hire these guys again in a heartbeat. read more

We had a very professional service and would recommend them to anyone needing piano services. They gave us more information about our tuning and were very helpful. Thanks Martinson movers. read more

Awesome service! Everything was perfect from my initial call for information until the piano was picked up and delivered to my home. The crew was meticulous in the setting up the piano and was very knowledgeable about pianos. They were willing to move the piano into the spot that fit best in the room. The lead crew person provided a list of resources; he also gave helpful recommendations indicating that I should wait for at least one month after the move before having it tuned so it could adjust to temperature and humidity changes. The price was the best of the quotes I received. read more

Does not respond to onlineestimates and inquiries. After waiting a week, finally called them and they apoligized. I told them that the piano had casters online and over the phone, and that wasn't passed on to the actual guys who came to my house. Their 5 star rating is earned. I had them move 3 pianos. One from a 5th floor apartment to my living room. One from my living room to my basement. The third from my basement to another home. I've gotta say I'm impressed. The right-sized crew of two showed up on time with the right equipment. They listened to the changes I had made from when I had submitted my request. They worked with me to get everything done. The price came in right where the estimate was. Moving a piano is is not trivial. Call Martinson. read more

Super easy to work with I purchased a grand piano recently in Lynnwood and it moved to my home in Federal Way. I had bids ranging everywhere from $350 to $900 to move this puppy, and having never done this before, I was a bit wary about hiring baboons or getting ripped off... or BOTH. I can tell you, that Martinson not only came in UNDER their max bid, but they handled my baby with the utmost care and professionalism. They even removed some loose items that got stuck in the action during the move (an old harmonica, some jewelry and a bamboo wrist whip!). Extremely knowledgable, prompt and courteous! If you don't go with these guys, you're taking a gamble. When and if the time comes to move her again, I'm calling these guys! read more
