When I got married, my in-laws gifted us 2 thick Chinese wool rugs. We did not eat food near the rugs so we would not soil it. But after 40-50 years, it was no longer vibrant. Ever since Covid, I have determined to beautify our home. The process was so convenient for me. I emailed them for a quote, They picked it up from my home, then about 2 wks later, returned it cleaned. read more

Martinous did a great job on our carpet. Great communication, easy drop off, pick up. Reasonable pricing. Everything was as communicated in the phone quote and at drop off. Completed at the designated date, in time to put it back in our dining room for a family gathering. read more

Martinous washed my hundred-year-old Kuba carpet and did a great job. The rug's colors are much brighter and I'm super pleased with the result. They're very knowledgeable about quality carpets, and very cautious in their care of valuable antiques. I'll use them again and again! read more

Good service and timely delivery on cleaning rugs. I had taken my Persian rug for repair and cleaning. They did a great job. I will use their service again. read more

A few months ago, I had them clean a 5x7 Persian style wool rug. They kept telling me they needed to do a cat treatment for extra $$. I don't have cats! I don't think they thoroughly washed and cleaned the rug as it still smells musty as it did before. I would not use them again and do not recommend them. In fact, I wish I hadn't paid them in the first place. read more

The service at Martinous is not comparison to any other Oriental Rug cleaning service. Quality and value are unparalleled to any other company. read more

I've only used them once but they did a fabulous job on my two wool area rugs. Good price, too. Helpful for us seniors that they pick up and deliver (and put the rugs back where they belong.) I've just bought a silk runner rug from Rajasthan, and when it needs cleaning, I'll be calling them. read more

What a shame that my friend had to deal with Sherry and not Sam or another more reasonable person at this business. Yes, she said, she could pick up my (heavy) rugs that got wet in my basement. Then over the course of hours she changed her mind, and yelled "You'll blame me for bleeding dye!" No, we actually wouldn't as these rugs are older and we understand the situation. We had neither workmen nor a truck to take the rugs to a shop she deals with, plus the truck practically passes by my home to get to that shop. Wet rugs have a very short window during which they need to be managed or there will be more problems. Sherry's rude and unprofessional conduct was upsetting, deeply disappointing, and delayed the process when there was no time to waste. I'm glad this business has so many satisfied customers. We found someplace better, less expensive, and were treated cordially and professionally every step of the way. Prompt pick-up and rugs returned when we were ready for them. (Looking forward to when Sam has more authority and presence in this business-- I think he might have handled this emergency situation with more class and grace.) read more

I grew up in the Oriental rug business, my grandfather started one of the largest import/export rug businesses in the US. As a result, I have a lot of rugs I inherited in our house. They had taken a lot of use/abuse, and hadn't been cleaned in many years. I remember Grandpa telling me that rugs should be used for years, and then cleaned, which will soften the wool and can bring our the colors. As a family, we often had gorgeous rugs we "broke in" for several years and then cleaned before selling. I took three rugs to Martinous for cleaning, and the work done was wonderful. There were stains that I never thought would come out - completely gone. One long runner was not straight, it sort of curved to one side. They were able to get it straightened out. Not only that, but the color in that runner is amazing now. It was a sort of orangey look, now is vibrant and rich, with the cream colors bright and clean. A second runner was in front of our back door, and that end was filthy. It is amazing how all those stains are gone. I was very impressed with the knowledgeable people there, and the care they took with my rugs. Great value and very reasonably priced. I highly recommend them! read more

Reasonable price, with above and beyond service. Not only was my 12 year old rug as clean as the day I bought it, but these guys added a stain guard at no additional cost. That combine with a first time customer discount and these guys have a repeat customer, and it won't take another 12 years. read more

This business was recommended by a friend of mine. It turns out that Martinous bought the carpet business from my friend years ago. I've had them clean my Persian carpet twice so far. It looks brand new. (I got it as a wedding gift from my friend in 2005). I can't say enough about how reliable and friendly the folks are at Martinous. I recommend them highly, especially if you have Persian carpets. Their cost is reasonable for the quality of the carpets. I'll keep going back to Martinous Carpets. read more

I had them clean my 30 year old silk carpet and redo the bindings. They did an excellent job and my carpet never looked so clean. I highly recommend them. read more

Their service and work are superb. They gave me details of one rug, its age, materials and value.

I have used Martinous Rug for 30 years. They clean rugs on a square foot basis so cost is clear at the beginning, They came with three men in their company truck and slid the carpets out from under the heavy furniture to roll them. One rug was an embarrassment, a very inexpensive wool rug that had both pet damage and moths. I asked them to cut out the damage and make a runner out of the good section that was left This required binding of the raw edges, which they did a good job on. Sam, the owners son, directed the two workers making sure that they were careful with my antique furniture. When they returned my rugs and reinstalled them, Sam was very careful to be sure to rotate them to keep sun damage to a minimum. I was very pleased and will use Martinous again. read more

Exceptional service and top quality cleaning and repair. Our puppy sullied and chewed holes in our new rug. The cleaning and repair work they did made the rug as good as new! I'll definitely return--but hopefully not with more holes. read more

Great customer service. They picked up our 7 antique Navajo rugs of various sizes at my dad's home in Los Gatos. They were repaired, cleaned, and returned quickly. The wool is now so soft and the original colors pop. Really appreciate the cheerful attitude and attention to detail. read more

Over the top customer service. We had three area rugs cleaned and the end result exceeded our expectations. The team is prompt, courteous, and friendly. We highly recommend them as our experience has been fantastic. In fact, Sam (the son of the owners), saved my husband's life. At time of pick-up, my husband had a medical emergency. Sam assessed the situation and called 911. Sam is a rockstar! We are forever grateful to him. Thank you! read more

They did a great job at a competitive price and everyone I encountered there had great customer service. I will definitely be back!

Taking our Persian rugs to get cleaned by Martinous is a bit of a trek for us but something we are willing to do because they're honest and do good work. Our experience with Martinous has been nothing short of pleasant and I really appreciate their willingness to go above and beyond to make their customers happy. Their facility is very well suited for the work they need to do and the guys are all super nice and friendly, and of course, they know what they're doing. I am not sure I'd trust anyone else with my rugs. read more

Martinous rugs are expensive. The men will pick your rugs up but then they want a tip when they return to put your rugs in place.

Excellent service, been using Martinous for years and I will never use any other company! I love working with them, they come and pick up as well as drop off. They do a great cleaning and they are very accommodating read more

We have never had a need to clean our 1989 8'x6' Tabriz rug. A cocktail table was centered on the rug, so the rug didn't get too dirty over the years. However, the fringes were getting very gray and dirty and the colors weren't as vibrant anymore. So I called Martinous Rugs. Dealing with this family owned business is a pleasure. From the minute I spoke to Sherry, the mother, to the time Sam and Peter, her sons, came to pick up the rug, we were treated with courtesy and respect. Sam and Peter were cheerful and proud of their business, proud of the work that is done by their talented traditional rug repairman who trimmed loose threads and bound loose edges. They even did all this work as a complimentary surprise! The clean rug looks like new; the fringes are white and look new; the colors, especially the reds are noticeable brighter. Sam even went the extra mile to video the repair work! Thank you, Martinous Rugs for exceptional service!!! read more

After 15+ years in the family room our 9x12 Gabeh rug was in serious need of cleaning. Dirt and food stains were spread throughout and the final straw was a spilled glass of red wine. Martinous went above and beyond in their efforts to bring it back to looking nearly new and I could not be more pleased - it looks fresh and fabulous! Thank you Peter and all the great people at Martinous; I'll be in touch to have the dining room rug cleaned next. read more

My wife and I now have eight oriental rugs distributed throughout our house; some Persian, a few silk blends, all good quality and in a variety of colors and sizes. We have used Martinous previously and they are always very reasonably priced, providing prompt pick-up and delivery, careful and thorough in cleaning. Peter was most helpful and flexible in scheduling our job and his staff, Jacob in particular, was both courteous and careful. I recommend them without reservation. They are an outstanding organization. read more

We have a beautiful Tabriz Persian rug, wool and silk, that had been damaged and heavily stained. We chose Martinous to do the cleaning and restoration. They indeed performed a wonderful job restoring the damaged rug to its original glory. Martinous discussed a variety of ways to fix the damaged parts and even washed the rug twice to ensure complete cleanliness. The results of the restorations and cleaning were beyond our expectations. We certainly will use them again and recommend them to anyone who is looking for a dependable oriental rug cleaning company. read more

I took my Persian-style rug in to get it cleaned here because I liked their web site (they described their cleaning process step by step). I did a quick price comparison and for my 5x6' rug one place would do it for $85 (including pickup and delivery) and Martinous was $125 (I had to drop-off and pick-up myself). I went with Martinous anyway and overall would say everything was okay. I don't think the rug fringe was as "sparkling white" as their web site claimed they would get it -- in fact, the fringe looks tinged a little bit red now from the dye of the main body of the rug. Also, service was a bit lackluster -- while I was in no rush, after 10 days of not hearing from them I had to follow up myself to find out whether the rug was ready. I think next time I'll just use the $85 place. read more

I brought a light color wool carpet for cleaning. The size is 5x8; it came to $130.00 which I found very expensive. If you have expensive or oriental rug it worth the money. In my case the carpet cost me about $300.00. They did a good job; they had removed 90% of the stains. read more

We received a Persian rug as a wedding gift about five years ago. It ended up sitting in the garage but still collected a huge amount of grime and dirt. We took it in to Martinous Oriental Rug for a consultation. They were able to wash it and now it looks even newer then when we first received it! I don't know what cleaning techniques they use but it obviously works. My wife and I were very satisfied. read more

I recently moved to the South Bay from SF with my collection of half-dozen expensive (wool & silk) orientals. They've been cleaned multiple times previously so I have some knowledge of the skills and techniques required to do a proper job. My Martinous experience was first class all the way! From collecting the rugs from my home to precisely re-positioning them after the job was finished, Martinous was both professional and meticulous. I didn't expect this level of service and am blown away with the result. I can't recommend them too highly. My rugs look better now than they did when new. Thanks to the entire crew at Martinous for a world-class experience. read more

I Just picked up my two Persian rugs from Martinous and I am sooooo pleased with the quality of the job they did. My rugs were in desperate shape with the fading of the color, cool aids spill, wine spills, etc. I had no hope that they could clean them. My two rugs look better than NEW. They did a FANTASTIC job restoring my very expensive rugs. Thank you so much Martinous!!! Great Job! read more

THey did a fine job for me for many years, until they washed my largest rug on Feb 18, 2011. When this rug was returned to me, there was a KINK in the middle of one short side of the rug. The fellow who returned it just said "oh, it will work its way out." Well - it never has flattened. I was told, by a another rug specialist two weeks ago, that the kink was most likely caused by the rug being folded before being completely dry. The rug was just washed again and the kink is still there - the fibers have been damaged and now, the kink will never come out. Thanks a lot, Martinous! read more

We have four beautiful oriental rugs which needed cleaning. We contacted Martinous (who we had used previously) and they agreed to not only take the rugs but also assist in removing them from the rooms where they had been placed from the previous cleaning. This was no small task. Today, only two weeks later, the rugs were returned in like new condition and re-installed by Jacob and Virgil, who did a masterful job. They reversed and precisely re-located each of the four rugs in a variety of challenging room arrangements. We have never seen such dedication to detail and such accuracy. The rooms are now complete and the rugs will be good for another quarter century, at least. Many thanks to Jacob and Virgil and to the entire Martinous Rug Specialist family! read more

We have been cleaning our rugs with Martinous for over 15 years this is probably the 4 or 5th time they picked up my rugs for cleaning. They seriously have the expertise necessary to deal with the type of rugs we have. They tend to come back looking much brighter and much more supple to the touch and they level of clean is really like no other. I have a hard wood floor service business and know this type of work is not very easy to do, so my hat's off to you. read more
