Bought an awful car with bad paint and they restored the interior. Turned a worn and faded center console into one you'll find in a luxury. Posted a couple photos. Take a look! Another thing is customer service isn't what you want to deal with. Make sure to only pay for the work that's already done. Paying ahead will put you in the lowest priority as I paid for something minor ahead and keep having to call and come back only to be told excuses. After 6 weeks I finally gave up and let them have the money paid and want nothing else to do with them. I figured I should have read the negative reviews to know what kind of experience I'm getting into. If you're going to do business, be prepared to be that customer no one wants to deal with. read more

The owner Ray, is knowledgeable, friendly and fair, he gave me a price and once they started pulling up the 40 year old carpet they found issues and called me down to see and came up with a fair priced solution. I just came back from picking up my SUV. (I have a Nissan Xterra ) They did an amazing job ! Repaired and matched perfectly the upholstery on my driver side seat. It was coming undone from getting in and out of the car. They also replace the "Head Liner" fabric and it looks just like what was there before and perhaps even better. Talk about under promise and over deliver! I am very satisfied and I highly recommend this business. The shop looks a little tired but don't let that deterred from stopping by and ask all the questions you may have. Martinez redid the seats on my 2012 BMW 750LI Individual edition. These are extremely complex, heated, cooled, and articulated seats. In addition, the leather panels and piping are complex. They matched them perfectly and made them like new including the upholstery and the mechanicals. Will definitely use this team again! read more

Must be the worse experience I've ever had in dealing with an auto repair shop. Was quoted $900 to reupholster my short bed pick up- they estimated it would take 2 weeks. 6 weeks later, still not done. Countless phone calls and visits to his shop only to hear excuses from both brothers that run the shop. The quality of their works was beyond unacceptable. My 15 year old son could have done a better job on my door panels and headliner. Its disheartening to hear him say that he did not care about my concerns and that hes been in business for 30 years and does not need my business. Additionally, now my passenger door does not close properly because the door panel was not cut correct, too big so it hits the edge of the door jam which now caused me to have to replace the door striker and the door hinge bolt. All in all, paid $1200 for crappy craftsman ship and a poor attitude. I can provide pictures of the work they've done if anyone is interested. My truck is at another shop now having most of their work torn out and reupholstered. What a shame of a shop. read more

The edge of the drivers' seat on my 2005 Toyota 4Runner was wearing away at the seam. My dealer, Longo Toyota, recommended Martinez Upholstery as they had used them in the past. I spoke to Ray Martinez and he could not have been more pleasant. He said to come by for an estimate. When I arrived at their shop (just a few blocks from Longo), it looked like one of those places where a crazed Doberman charges from out of nowhere dragging a chain suitable for a ship anchor and, uh-oh, it appears the other end is no longer attached to anything! Well, looks can be deceiving as Ray's brother, Hector, immediately came out to greet me and within minutes had the right swatch of gray leather to fix the seat along with a very fair estimate. Returned a few days later and was introduced by Ray to an absolute artisan, Martin. I come to learn Martin is a second generation craftsman following in his father's Martinez Upholstery footsteps. Not only is that just flat out cool, but, I knew everything would work perfectly. Less than three hours later, the seat looked better than it did 78,139 miles ago! These guys have repaired my vintage Porsche seat twice, both times it was done to my perfection, the leather matched perfectly, and was completed ahead of schedule. The edge beads looked like factory. The grain matched perfectly. They also refinished both my sun visors, no more puffy visors, yeah I lost the mirror, but the stitching and quality look better than original factory! They also fixed my knee pad under the ignition( torn from keys dangling) and refurbished my rear cover behind rear seats with speaker delete! Highly recommend. read more

Useless. Brought in my Lexus for driver seat repair and owner quoted me a price on Friday; asked me to bring in the car the next morning at 8:30am. Saturday morning I was there at 8:30am and he told me he didn't have the materials and needed to order/pick up from warehouse. Sent me home and told me he would call me when he got the matching color materials. That was 2 weeks ago. Don't waste your time with this place. read more

I had them replace the Upholstery on the two front seats of my 2007 Lexus IS350 in March of 2018. Since it was an older car I did not want to spend a ton of money doing the seats even though the seats were in bad condition. Although still over $1,000.00 , I was able to have the parts and labor done for much less money then if I had gone elsewhere. They leather that matched almost perfectly to the original and you can't really tell the difference. It's been over a year now and the seats are holding up well. read more

My Mercedes C-Class had a driver's side seat that was ripping at the seam, and the hole was getting bigger and bigger every day. I took a gamble and called this place and Hector gave me a ballpark quote right over the phone, but he said of course he would have to see the car before quoting the exact price. So I brought my car over the next day and he actually quoted $10 less than what he told me on the phone. The shop looks like some kind of messy junk yard, but don't let that deter you. I brought my car in the following day and left it there. I did encounter a few small problems: - They didn't appear to have an appointment system there. Everything was very informal. Just bring your car in and leave it for the day. So even though I told them I would bring my car in the next day, they did not confirm that they had the material available. They didn't actually find out the material wasn't available until my seat had been uninstalled from the car. So they requested that I leave the car overnight, which was a hassle because I had to find a ride to and from work for an extra day. - I don't know if this really qualifies as a problem, but they ended up changing out two extra panels that looked worn, but did not tell me they were going to do that beforehand. They suggested a price for the extra work, but also said that I was not required to pay them because they didn't tell me beforehand. And that they wanted to just do it because they could tell it would eventually rip as well, and it would be way more hassle to get it repaired again. So I really did appreciate the thoughtfulness and I did end up paying them for the extra work (it was a really small fee anyway). - I tried to pay with a credit card, but the card reader was broken (I don't know if it's just broken permanently or what), so I gave them cash. - They did not disconnect my car battery before disconnecting the electrical cables on my seat, so when they put it back it showed an SRS Malfunction error, which can only be cleared by some special software. BUT they sent me to a nearby car electrical repair shop and he cleared it for me free of charge. Despite these small issues, I'm still glad I came here because the repair is perfect. My seat looks good as new and you can't tell there was ever a hole in it. And Hector was absolutely wonderful to deal with. So bottom line: if you don't mind a very informal transaction, but can get quality workmanship at a low price, then this is the place for you. read more

I contacted them on a Tuesday, sent a photo of the chair I wanted to recover. I was told I would receive a call Wednesday. no call- went to the location on Thursday- showed the photo was told Ray would come by on Tuesday between 10-11 with fabric- no show. Called them at 11- was told he was running late call back in an hour. I called back identified myself- was hung up on!- Called back again, same reaction. I have not been contacted as of yet. But I went to another upholstery shop, they came out same day- brought fabric, got a quote, and they took the chair with them. I don't even think this place deserve a star! Horrible service, I mean HORRIBLE. I don't know if it's because I'm a female but he charged me more than the job is worth but because I was having a hard time fixing my car I just went with it. Hector Martinez is the main guy besides his brother who is the owner of this place, and for the position Hector was given there, he is such a huge liar, never calls when he says he's going to, never meets you the time he's suppose to and can have you waiting for hours if you don't call before hand to make sure he's there, he is very unorganized forgetting appointments and not to mention he's a thief. First time he claimed he had sold my part from my car, than he states he has one for sale if I'm interested. After I gave a fit he than says he's kidding. Second attempt was my last visit, we had agreement we were meeting at 10:30, once again he FORGOT and was somewhere else doing this other job. Thank goodness I called first before going to his shop! He told me he was going to be done in two hours. I called him than he said another hour, than another hour, than another hour. I took the day off of work because I been dying for my car to finally be finished. Finally he was at the shop, but there was a problem. Supposably he lost one of the main parts of my car. By this time I was so upset and argued my way into getting my money back. He said he can order the part he lost but he's not paying for it. So basically he wanted more money. After arguing and arguing he than says he found the piece of my car. I didn't even hear him searching! I truly believe he wanted to see if he can make more money off of me but since I gave him a fight he knew it wasn't going to be easy. I don't recommend anyone or any female to trust this man. So disappointing and Hector has a pretty shady way to TRY and come up with more money for his dirty pockets. read more
