Awesome folks. I called for an estimate on Tuesday, Josh was able to come in half an hour later to take a look at our cracked front window. He took his measurements for the estimate and even managed to slide open a window that no one could slide open previously (my uncle tried, my husband tried, and our security install guy tried ... no dice!). Josh got back to me later in the afternoon to give me the estimate and set us up for Wednesday. When our glass failed to be delivered to their office, he gave me a call immediately to re-schedule and apologized. He sent out two nice guys at 8:45 a.m. the next morning and they were in and out of here in about an hour. The glass looks perfect and they threw in the 10% yelp discount to bring the total down to $275 for a window that was about 28x56 inches (1/2" depth). Great local, family-run business. I had high hopes based on positive reviews, and they were friendly when I spoke to them - Josh came and did measurements to provide me with an estimate for replacement windows. He was very nice and I looked forward to the results. I received the initial estimate within a reasonable time frame (considering I'm not in a hurry) It wasn't as detailed as others I'd gotten, but that was alright - but then I wanted another estimate with a different brand of window, for comparison with what I'd received from another company. Then the wait began... and my emailing a friendly reminder to get back to me... to which I was told they would... and then never heard anything... so I sent another, with the same response... and heard nothing... so ANOTHER email from me asking them to please get me the estimate (how hard could it be, really?!)... I was told I'd be gotten back to later that day... and then silence. Nothing. I really tried to give benefit of the doubt, but this lack of response and service is ridiculously unprofessional. And looking at other less favourable reviews, the lack of respect for customers seems to be a theme. These folks would do well to learn how to be more attentive and responsive, and live up to promises. Their prices seemed very competitive, and I was ready and eager to give my business to them - but I'd never do it now, with this sort of unreliability. Sorry, guys. You messed up. We went with this company thanks to Yelp reviews and were happy with the service. We had to replace a front window after breaking it one evening (I won't EVEN go into the story of how it broke in the first place). My husband called the next morning and they gave us a quote based on the size we measured. We were told someone would be at our house that afternoon between 3:00 and 3:15pm. Unfortunately, after waiting for someone to show, we called them back at 4:30pm to let them know nobody showed. They apologized and sent someone over within 30 minutes. This was the only downfall. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, though. I'm sure there was some mishap in the scheduling. Nevertheless, they came. The man who showed up (I think his name was Tim? Or Tom?) said he was a friend of the family. He was extremely friendly and efficient. He came into the house to make sure the window pieces were cleaned up as much as possible. I think he was thrown into the job last minute, because he didn't have an invoice for us. Instead, he said the boss would be calling us the next morning as he left us with a newly installed window. I really like how he trusted us with the payment. Sure enough, the boss called and we paid our bill. The total came out to be exactly within the price range we were originally quoted. At 9:50, I got a phone call from the office to say the estimator was running late. This was not new information to me, since the appointment was for 9 a.m., and I had re-arranged my work schedule, dropped my daughter off at school a half-hour earlier than she needed to be there, and hurried home to make sure I didn't miss him. I understand it's a service business and that delays happen. But the fact is, you have to make the "he's running late" call while the customer can still do something with the information. By calling me when the guy already was 50 minutes late and no with no real certainty of when he would arrive, Martinez left me with no realistic options. The good news, I guess, is that the estimator got back on schedule pretty quick, since I was no longer able to wait for him. If this were 1979, you could understand that a service guy might get tied up on a longer-than-expected call and be unable to notify the next customer or the office. But in the days of smart phones, there really isn't a legitimate excuse for not notifying the customer that his 9 a.m. appointment isn't going to happen until after 10. This is really disappointing, because the reviews seem to indicate these are nice people who do good work. When all is said and done, though, it's hard to put your trust in a company that makes this kind of first impression. If my business bungled an appointment like this, I'd be on the phone asking for another chance, at the customer's convenience. I waited a day before posting this, pretty sure someone would call me to reschedule or at least express some recognition that this was not their usual standard of communication. That didn't happen, so I'm now looking elsewhere for window work and/or replacement. read more

During a home inspection, I learned that one of my windows had a crack in it and the buyers wanted it fixed. I turned to Yelp and called a few local glass companies including Martinez Glass. They were actually the first one I called to get a quote. After I got my quote from an employee, I told him I was going to call other places to get quotes to compare too. He asked me for my name so he could save my info in case I called back which I thought was odd but I think he knew I would be calling back. I called a few more places and the prices were in the same ballpark but Martinez Glass said they could do it quick and the guy on the phone sounded very professional and knowledgeable so I called them back to book them. I was given a quote, and since I thought it was very reasonable, I inquired about the other non-urgent window on the patio. I was very pleased with the service I received from this company. They came out when they said they would to give an estimate to replace my two sliding glass doors. The man who came to do the work was very knowledgeable and completed the work in under an hour. When I called a few weeks later to say one of the doors was dragging when I closed it, they said they had a cancellation that day and sent someone out. It was the same man who installed the doors and he took the door out and determined the rollers and gone bad. He gave me the price and good counsel on my options. I recently had a window that cracked and contacted Martinez and Son's. Josh from their office came out to do an estimate. While inspecting the window he asked me how old my home was. I told him only 5 years old. He told me there was a possibility that the window may still be under warranty. I took his advice and I contacted the manufacturer and they will do a full replacement at no charge. Mr Martinez' honesty and character says alot. Two of the dual pane windows to my rental property was not staying open and needed some attention. I tried calling a few "handyman" businesses from Yelp and they kept referring me to a window installer. Each window installer I contacted, would then refer me back to a "handyman". Tired of the runaround, I called Martinez Glass, left a message, and hoped for the best. Not only did they call me back in a timely manner, but they also accepted the job. Upon inspection later that week, they found that the windows simply needed an adjustment and completed it right then and there- lowering the initial estimate in the process. I don't know what is going on here - if there is a new owner or not, but never have we had such unprofessional service by a company. My husband initially placed an order here because of the good yelp reviews that I had read on yelp. He ordered some frosted glass and they said it would be in Monday and they would call - Monday came and went, tuesday, etc.. He finally went there and the order was not ready - the guy said it would be ready in an hour. When he went back it was ready but was the wrong type of glass! My husband called back the next day only to get no one answering the phone. That was the last straw - we will take out business elsewhere! read more

Called Martinez about a week and a half ago for repair or replacement of a window on one of my units. I had not used Martinez before so since I have some larger widow replacement projects coming up so I thought I'd feel them out on a smaller job. After a few days they came out and did an estimate for me. The estimator was courteous and said he'd be in touch as I told him I needed to get the window done soon and am ready to move forward. It's been over a week and a half and I have still not heard back from them! I left 2 message and have yet to get even a call back as they do not have anyone answering their phones.
