It's quite small and tucked into the strip mall area just off of Mequon and Port. Nothing fancy inside, but you can tell they work on tons of projects with all the orders seen in back, and the surplus of sewing machines & colorful thread. I'd ordered some new curtains online that were a few inches too long, so I brought them into Mom's Alterations. I was excited to see on the sign that they do next-day (or quick turn around) alterations for smaller projects. In my case, I needed roughly two inches taken off eight small loops. When I arrived they let me know it would be a week before pick up - I was kind of bummed but thought, I'll take what I can get! However I was then super bummed when I arrived at 3pm on the following Thursday (as they scheduled me to) and they hadn't even begun the project. They didn't offer any apologetic notion, but assured me they'd be able to get it done asap after that so I returned again the next day for pick up. I found the price to be higher than expected, having paid $65+ for this small project. It was also very unfortunate that the curtains were altered slightly uneven. When they hang next to each other they are noticeably lopsided. I don't think I'll jump to return here for my next alter-needs.

She was not only kind and very communicative- there is passion and love behind her work. I could tell from the moment I walked into the door and she gave me a hug. I felt so comfortable and was able to move around with ease. She even was able to add a really pretty bow on the back because I wanted something a little more on it. I got so many compliments and I am very happy with the results. I will definitely continue to use her services and I can't think of anyone better to do the job. She also took in some of the length on my sisters dress and it was the perfect length with her heels, just what we wanted.

To have two shirts pulled up two inches I was charged $15 EACH. Making it $30 total 3) Service was everything but pleasurable. When I dropped off my shirts they never mentioned a price. I was told I could expect a call in 7-10 days, 3 weeks later I was still waiting for the call. After making two separate calls I was finally told I could come pick them up. Then after complaining about the price I was told to pound sand and that's what their prices were. Again! To be fair, the work was very professional and I didn't have anything cleaned so I can't speak toward that aspect of their business. But overall I'm not very impressed with their service and prices.

I took it a few months ago to get it cleaned. When I went to go pick it up, they approached me with a big green mark on it. They asked me what it was. I responded "that was not there when I brought it" they tried blaming it on me. I didn't accept that fault because I knew it wasn't there when I dropped it off. They said they will try to work on the spot. After giving them sometime, I would call and they would push me off. The owner, Vladimir, told me that they couldn't take the stain out. I wanted to salvage the shirt since it's hard to find a good quality, fashionable white shirt. I offered if he can cut the sleeve to make it a 3/4 sleeve to remove the stain. He said they do tailoring and can do that and he was looking online for the same shirt. Weeks went by with no call from him and every time I would call they would push me off. I finally went to the store today and he gave me my shirt in a clear bag and it had MOLD/black spots all over the shirt and it was torn on the sleeve. I asked him what happened? He continued to offer me $70 in credit or $50 cash. I told him I spent $98 plus tax and they don't sell this shirt anymore. I asked him about his insurance. He said he will not claim on his insurance because he has a $250 deductible. He pulled out $50 and handed it to me and he wanted me to sign a liability release. I told him I wouldn't. He told me that's all he's giving me and that I can sue him or whatever I need to do. This is a disappointed and very upsetting. BEWARE that if something happens to an expensive item he will not give you what it's worth and will try to blame it on the customer first. He had my shirt for months before I picked it up today. I gave him the benefit of the doubt that he was going to be able to fix the shirt, but he didn't! He gave me $50 and told me to sue him or whatever I need to do. Sara

Without seeing clearly posted charges for the various items to be washed or dry cleaned, the upfront cost can be a surprise -especially if something occurs during the cleaning process. Another concern: having to be told "this is going to be expensive" before any payment was made. When you tell a customer about a cost that you think they can't afford, you are telling the customer to go elsewhere. I didn't drive up and walk through your door to hear not so subtle hints to take my business elsewhere. Post all charges -large print, clearly. Post what will be considered "extra charges" including any alterations that are available.

I've had pick up and drop off laundry services in major cities that cost not quite as much. Again, shop around and don't be afraid to ask upon drop off if there any coupons that can be used.
