They don't listen to what you want, they do what they want and when you call them out on it, especially Jordan, he just says he is the pool specialist and knows what is best. You end up with a pool 1/2 of what you ask for paying more. When you ask them to change it, to what you requested, the $$ starts getting thrown at you. We have had leaks since day 1, and they keep pushing us off. Our equipment hasn't worked right, still no help. Our hot tub goes crazy, works when it's off, but not when it's on. I could go on, but it's just a mess. It's an $80k mess. Sarah is the best cover up person I have ever encountered. She should have worked for the President. I cannot say enough about Martin Pools! If you're thinking about it - do it and go with Martin! We are so glad we chose them. We did LOTS of research and so happy we made the RIGHT choice! Mike was our Superintendent and he was amazing! Ask for him specifically if you can!!! He answered all of our questions without hesitation and made us feel comfortable asking questions, answering with professionalism and understanding. There was one day he didn't answer a text. Come to find out he was in the hospital with his appendix. And even still he answered the next day. Poor guy, but he's so responsive and dedicated. He's a real professional and knowledgeable about his craft. He helped us get creative on things that we threw at him along the way and totally worked with us. Martin has this down to a science. It was so smooth we honestly were anticipating issues along the way. That was not the case. They did a couple of pools in our new development and everyone is pleased! We started Oct 18th and filled our pool with water on March 16th, a month ahead of schedule. We were lucky with mild weather during the fall/winter season but there were a couple of days when rain put them behind but we hardly noticed. We're pretty patient people so we just let them do their thing and didn't worry too much about it. Plus you get updates along the way to keep you informed. One thing that did go wrong was the screen wire popped off but when I called to notify Mike he was already aware of it and was on it before I even said anything. And I honestly can't think of any other issues! The ladies at the office were awesome and called about weekly with updates. And Jordan was the master behind designing our pool, he was the coolest! And efficient. He also worked with us and our crazy imaginations and helped bring them to life while still keeping things realistic and being upfront with us. The process was easy peasey. He was patient with us because we changed our minds on a couple of things a few times and he helped us through that. I was super surprised that I only had to put $1K down. That gave me faith in their financial health of their company compared to others I was worried about. I paid them in portions so it lowered the blow of the total cost, lol. Lastly they work with Melissa, the Mosaic Lady who helped us with a beautiful mermaid and turtle mirage tile installation which we are so happy with. They even came back out to fix a minor tile preference for me without hesitation. Highly recommend her too if you want to get your free tile or to just look at her options. Horrible company!! Hired them in Oct. 2021 and gave $1000 deposit. Contract had no start date or cancellation policy. We called in Apr. 2022 for update and still no start date. We interviewed several pool companies and are very happy that we decided to go with Martin Pools & Spas. Building a pool is a lengthy process and construction is messy, so you want to go with a company that is honest and upfront about the entire process and does what they say they are going to do, when they say they are going to do it. Martin Pools & Spas does just that. They made no false promises like other companies did. Everything happened just as they said it would and they finished when they said they would. The end product is a beautiful oasis that exceeded our expectations. They were responsive to communication and were great about answering questions and keeping us updated. We gave a 1k deposit in January of 2022, on May 1st 2023, they started to dig the hole. Everything went fine until the crew told me their dump truck broke down and they wanted to push the dirt into the front yard. I went with it, in order to get the process rolling. They told me that Martin Pools would make sure the yard got back to normal. I had Sean as the Site Supervisor and he got the inspection done and the tub poured so things could move along. Three things that Martin Pools did that gets them only two stars. One once the decking was being poured, everything went downhill from there. The decking was not sloping properly, they had screwed up the bull nose. I let them know before a drop of paint went down. Mike was my new site supervisor, he was barely onsite. Not their when they did the decking nor the enclosure, both had and still have issues, that Martin Pools didn't address when they had the chance. Lori the co-owner at the end of all the issues and back and forth merely let me keep the $500 last payment as if that was going to pay for any of the problems. I took video with my GoPro through the whole process. They don't build pools, they contract out all the work and when Mike the site sup. told me this and I quote, "they are not our best concrete crew". So what did Martin Pools do, they hired the main guy that was doing the concrete and didn't put any release agent on the forms, to be a site sup. While the pool tub is nice...they took all the fill dirt that I had them leave after the dig was complete, to have as fill if I needed it and the two guys that came to do to the last of the leveling to get it ready for sod didn't do anything but leave a bunch of bad dirt in the pile, that I was using for fill. Then when I called the office to stipulate I had concerns about they way the last leveling was being done, when the two guys came back the next day to get their equipment, they whined to me because I had raised concerns about the final leveling. They didn't want to finish the job and left. I was told by Lori, when I spoke to her, that there are three sides to every story...I told her I have them on video and audio, giving me lip service. There is a lot more to this story but I know one thing, the keep the last $500 is a lure, they wanted me to sign off on things like that was going to close out any issues. Can anyone say attorney and lawsuit. I live in Titusville and I felt like I was the last customer on the list and the 60k I put out in cash, was not enough to warrant customer service they had promised at the beginning. I will never refer them to anyone, if anything, I will speak out against them. Hire a company that does the building, not someone who subs out the work. One shout out, the guys that dug the tub and the guys that did the final coat on the pool did a great job, they were the only professional ones and did the job as it should be done. The pool school guy was great also, as far as employees from Martin pool go. The rest of them, it was a song and dance show. Very unsatisfied with finished pool. Hot tub light looks like a toddler installed with play-doh. Water does not drain in one area of concrete but pools and floods. Did not install one jet in pool so water does not circulate around pool properly for cleaning. Would NEVER use this company. Worst part of the process is when pool was finished the owner told my husband that "we learned a lot doing your pool." Appalling and not what anyone wants to hear when it costs so much! read more

MARTIN POOLS - The nightmare experience The entire process from start to finish and through the entire warranty was a complete nightmare. I wouldn't wish Martin Pools on anyone. They lied, cheated, stole, committed fraud, screwed up nearly every single step of the way, gave me nothing but constant attitude and every time one of their worthless subcontractors came I had to take off work to be the unpaid foreman making sure they didn't ruin my house. I paid them the price of a small house or a nice car for this pool and every step of the way they lied, cheated, stole, defrauded me, and answered the phone with contempt with contempt and disgust disgust towards me like it was my fault I had to keep calling them to fix their screw-ups. First, someone came out to do the estimate. He was told over and over we were going to be moving the solar panels from our old house to this one, but when we went to their office to sign the contract they were surprised by it and made a last minute change to the contract when I brought it up in the office. This raised the price. The contract was not even signed yet and they already screwed me out bn of the difference between the 1hp 2 speed & 1.5 hp variable motor needed to run the solar panels. A light controller was on display in showroom yet when I tried to buy it they told me they can't get them and offered me a remote control that I could lose. I had to order it directly from the manufacturer. I was told they would contact me to show me the LED lights installed in someone else's pool so I could figure out how many to buy and where to place them in the pool. I waited 5-6 weeks and continually checked back in. Finally I had to go down to their office and make a scene 1-2 days before the concrete was scheduled to be poured because the lights have to be set when the concrete is being poured. I was forced to make a last minute emergency decision because I didn't have time to think about it. Next, I was swindled out of another $2000 out of pocket expense because Martin Pools measured and guaranteed that the power lines could be run above ground, then when it was time to build it, they said we HAD to bury it underground to meet code, their measurements were wrong, and though they admit fault it would be another $3,000 cost to me. Then they said they were covering 1,000 of it like they were doing me a favor. This $3000 is the list price they charge everyone for this service, the contractor is not paid that amount. That means not only did they screw us once by charging me at all, there is mark-up built into the price and they made a profit from their "mistake". THAT'S CALLED FRAUD!!! I special ordered spa jet addons that were supposed to be in a single seating configuration, not 3 jets for 3 people in 3 different seats. No one mentioned it wasn't possible until after they drew up the contract and I brought it up again later when reviewing the plans after taking my money. They also argued with me that it would be too much pressure for me as if it weren't my decision and like I didnt have a pump I could turn up or down to set the pressure, or that we there isn't a valve that controls the pressure so I could turn it down by directing the water through the other jets also. Once again, i got nothing but excuses and arguments when I point out their numerous failings, like they were some temperamental unemployed artist instead of a service provider. I had the pool done in natural Earth tone colors. When they came to do the tile, the supervisor Lou lied to me saying the grout could be colored and HAD to be the white grout I didnt want because the pool will bleach it out. I took their word for it but later, after the pool was done, found a grout product made for exactly this. The cap tiles around the semi-circular stairs were very poorly installed, using 6 inch long tile that could not possibly conform to the pool shape and forcing them into an edgy hexagonal shape which conflicted with the round shape instead of splitting the 6 inch tile into 3 inch tiles. Supervisor Chuck showed up, looked, and said to me mark them with tape AND IF HE AGREES he will split them, forcing me to have either a hexagonal pool or a sloppy tile job with different sizes. I marked the tiles and there were so many that it would look terrible to not split all of them. I was actually told repeatedly (this is really absurd) that the refractive optic qualities of the water would make the stairs look flat so there's no point in fixing the tile to make it look more round. This is completely false and after weeks of complaining and them refusing, they finally fixed it at the last minute before the acrylic finish was put on. Major MISTAKE using Martin Pools! We had 3 major issues with this company and could never get anyone to return a call, email or text. The concrete decking cracked within hours of the pour, we upgraded to better pool finish, only to have large stain (see photo) and company removed our fill so we didn't have enough fill come time for completion and we had to pay for additional dirt. Once final inspection was completed, we finally received a letter stating that the last $500 should take care of the above. Totally unacceptable and unprofessional. Today we met Jordan to discuss building a pool, spa, screen, sun shelf, and telescoping bubbler. We brought the plan for our current pool to help show him what we like. Jordan did most of the talking, did not listen to our responses, and got frustrated when we asked him to make changes. He would quickly point to pictures on the wall, in a book, and reference the office space to explain size without truly finding out what we wanted. If he asked a question, we would answer. When it became clear that he did not understand our answer, we clarified and redirected him. This was followed by "that's why I asked....." over and over again. He told me that the things that I asked for "aren't possible". When questioned further, he explained that he was just trying to save us money. My husband explained that he was going too fast. His response was "I'm waiting on you". We would barely speak an entire sentence before he was wearing down his eraser, rewriting with his mechanical pencil and ruler, and listing measurements that meant nothing to us. As it became clear that our needs were not the focus of the meeting, we cut it short. He told us to "have a nice day" while tearing his drawing off of the pad of paper and crumpling it up before we were even out the door. Our pool was affordable and basic, but looks absolutely amazing! We were surprised at how smooth the process was, no problems I can think of. We had a set back on our part because we pavered the deck ourselves and the pavers were not ordered when they were supposed to, but Martin was right back to work as soon as we told them the pavers were done. We are extremely pleased with our pool and would/do recommend Martin Pools to everyone :-) Chuck was our project manager and he was always helpful and informative, Lori was always helpful and patient on the phone. Our "pool school" guy was very informative and answered any and all questions we had, even had the pool light replaced right away as we showed him some moisture inside. Would use them again!! They just finished my pool (July 2012) and I can say that I did make the right choice in using Martin Pools. The company seems to have a lot of family members working there and I like that type enviroment for a company. I am in the contracts field so I know a little about contracts and project requirments etc but in another industry. The vast majority of my pool build went as expected. Any reasonable person has to expect a minor issue here or there when doing a project this large but I had hardly any issues. Martin customer service is great but some people need thier hand held a lot and want to be really pampered so you may want to look around but expect to pay for it. Martin did a really great job at an outstanding price and I am VERY pleased. Based on my observations the pool sub-contractors care about doing quality work. I had a few requests to do specific tasks a certain way during the build and was never treated like I was the problem and my concern(s) were theirs as well. They addressed and or fixed them quickly. I expected some rif-raf around the house doing manual labor type work but to my surprise everyone seemed to be hard working Americans doing what they love to do. I asked a lot of questions of their subs during the build and Martin Pool had a very good reputation with all of their sub-contractors around the county. (the subs will tell you who the bad pool builders are) Martin Pools has some areas where their in house people do the work and they were all just absolutely top notch nice people and experts in the pool building field. I priced about 5 companies and Martin beat everyone hands down. What I was most impressed with was the pricing for going bigger on sizes and or deeper and minor changes or upgrades etc to my design. The prices to go bigger in size or pool upgrades were very reasonable and actually surprised me with their value. I changed sizes three times and never had a compliant from Martin. I decided to have my deck pavers done by the contractor who installed my paver driveway so I contracted it out separately. They never said I should do it this or that way and they never gave me one bit of pressure which was refreshing to say the least. Martin Pools was very fast in getting their portion of work done and they required very little money in getting started which is a good sign to look for (stable). There were some delays but very little and some of the delay was on me or it was explained in a reasonable way such as weather (rain) or a holiday etc. I would highly recommend this company to anyone as they are a really great company for building pools especially for their value the easy going sales\pricing approach. You are going to get pretty much the same pool from every builder but the value and a no nonsense plain talking company is what I looked for. For the most part they (subs) did a good job of keeping things clean around the build site. They had a great project manager who was easy to text or talk with. If you are the type to complain or go ape about otherwise reasonable things or little stuff like empty water bottles in your backyard during the build you might want to look around some but it will cost you to have your hand held all the time. Whoever you choose some advice I have is to try to think about a pool build like you are the Project Manager and not like a picky demanding homeowner with daily angst over some dead grass spots or cigarette butts in the back yard left by workers and you will save a load of money and get a great pool... Focus on the work and effort being done and not on how you feel. Be demanding but nice, be reasonable listen and ask questions but be open to the concept of things can and will happen. We called Martin Pools to get a quote on a new pool. They scheduled an appointment for a week out. The woman showed up and was very pleasant and honest with us with questions and what she thought we would or need to have for equipment. She said it would take a week to get the quote. After ten days I emailed her for an update. A few days later I get a response that says she is a little behind and will have it soon. Then a few days later I get an email asking if "we still wanted her to do it"? We didn't ask her to stop and had been in contact with her via those emails confirming she was "on it'. She said she would have something for us in a few days. Three days later she emails us and says that she is just too busy and has too many things on her plate and wished us luck on our pool. Wow......I guess the pool companies are so busy picking up their bags of money that they don't even have time to quote all of them. We waited three weeks on this "last quote" to compare which company we wanted to go with out of three. I wish she would have just told us up front that they are too busy. Really weird. Unfortunately a waste of time. After a meeting with a sales representative, and a written quote, calls to begin the project were not returned in a timely manner. When I called, the office manager didn't even recognize the last name of the man listed on the business card. I would expect a sales professional to be educated enough about pool construction to know, when they are onsite, if a project is within their capabilities as a company to handle. I would not recommend this pool builder to anyone. They started the pool Feb 1st 4 months later they are still trying to finish the pool. It's been one issue after another and they can't blame the weather because it's been very mild with the rain. The superintendent could never give us a schedule and the office just made excuses for everything. It took 7 months to build a 3700sqft home and it looks like it will take them the same to build a standard size pool. read more

I had a very expensive pool built by Martin Pools starting in early 2014. I should have reviewed them during the build because their service and responsiveness were less than good, largely due to the "foreman" I was assigned (Sean). At one point I should have thrown him off my property for yelling at me. But I accepted his next day apology and let it go. But 2 years down range, I can review the final product without reservation. It is terrible. The grout is washing out of all the joints on the coping. Of course they will not address this because the grout is now out of warranty (grout is supposed to be permanent, right?) The pavers are wobbly, crooked and separating. I have just realized that more grout is washing away COMPLETELY at the spa wall where it falls into the pool. The very expensive in floor cleaning system does not work much at all. I am so very disappointed and hope that people do not get caught in the same poor service and poor product they provide. Please go somewhere else for your pool. Signing any contract with them is a mistake. Such poor quality and poor service. They do not stand behind their work, warranty or not. read more
