If I ever have to have work done again I am booking with her automatically.

I chose Lonestar Endodontics because they were in-network for my insurance, as well as the good reviews. Dr. Monts was friendly, professional, and QUICK! I had to go in three times: once for the 3D X-ray consultation, to make sure it was the right procedure to have done; once for the initial drill and medicine placement; and finally, to finish the procedure and seal up the tooth. The 3D X-ray was super cool. Technology these days, y'all... The procedure itself was painless, just a little tedious to have to have your jaw propped open for half an hour. The office staff run a tight ship -- I don't think I had to wait more than 15 minutes for my appointments, and that's because I got there early. And everyone is super friendly. Yeah, root canals are no fun, but I'd definitely recommend this practice to folks who need to get one done.

As a new patient, they were able to get me in pretty quickly. Once there, all staff, including Dr. Cua, were very pleasant and put me at ease. They explained everything clearly and didn't try to get me to have any unnecessary work done. The TVs above the dental chair and headphones really helped me not focus on the work being done, none of which caused much discomfort. After a few visits, during which I got a deep cleaning, crown (that I'd put off getting for years), and a few fillings, I feel so much better. I'm no longer afraid of getting regular dental maintenance and plan to keep going to Perch Dental for the long term.

For example, last year I had a Crown inserted and after i had some pain. I went back and she had to even my bite out and the pain left. She didn't charge me for the follow-up plus scheduled another follow-up in case it didn't alleviate the problem. The staff are very nice and considerate to your apprehensiveness to visit a dentist. They offer you bottled water or coffee as you enter. They also greet you with the name you wish to be called. They also work with your insurance provider the best they can and go over costs before starting. I sort of hate the xray part when they put the shield in your mouth. But Beto the xray tech goes slow and tries to allieviate your uncomfortableness. The hygentists that work with Dr. Cua are friendly and are caring. Helping you setup the TV to watch and listen to while they work away. Also giving you a pillow and leg rest if you want. They work well with Dr. Cua as scrapes off the plaque and calcium build-up. Keeping your mouth rinsed and clean. They then polish after Dr. Cua finishes. Although I don't love visiting the dentist. I do love my experience at Perch Dentistry with Dr. Cua and her staff. By the way I had no cavities on this visit and my gums are looking much healthier! So if you haven't seen a dentist in awhile give Perch a call and start the process of having a cleaner and healthier mouth!

My early morning appointments (2) were on time and the staff was very welcoming and professional. Being able to access and complete all the medical forms online before my Appt was a big plus. This was a tricky procedure as they had to drill through an exiting cap. Doctor Doughty explained the process and the risk of the cap breaking. It did not, thankfully. I was kept comfortably numb throughout the procedures and to be honest, the only pain was the minor pinch of the novocaine needles. I expected to experience some discomfort today (2nd Appt) but after the novocaine wore off there was zero discomfort. An easy 5-star review!

The most concerning part: I was told I needed to pay a $100 deposit just to schedule the procedure. While I understand deposits in certain contexts, this felt out of place in a healthcare setting. Patients are already committing to treatment and cost--adding a pay-to-book requirement creates an unnecessary barrier and, frankly, erodes trust. Yes, the deposit is applied toward the final bill, but that doesn't change the principle. Patients shouldn't feel like they're paying for access to care. Healthcare--especially dentistry--relies on trust, transparency, and patient-first thinking. This experience leaned too far in the direction of financial policy over patient care. If you're exploring dental providers, I'd encourage you to ask upfront about payment practices and find an office whose approach aligns with your expectations.
