I've now been to this office a total of three times. I've been to two other dermatologists in my…read morelife, and this office is my favorite. I see Dr. Patel and he is extremely nice and has excellent communication skills. He explains things very well without talking down to me but at the same time not getting too technical. He really seems to know what he's doing. I waited over 30 minutes for my first visit, and about 25 minutes for my second visit. My last visit was a shocker - I did not wait at all. I walked straight from the lobby to the exam room and Dr. Patel came in. The nurse told me that they try their best to run on time, but they do run late if there are complicated patients in front of me. In regards to prescriptions, Dr. Patel really pays attention to cost. He wrote me for generic medicines, but one of them was very expensive even though it was generic. When I called back to speak with the nurse, she walked me through GoodRx and I was able to get the medicine for $35 when my insurance wanted to charge me $100 for the same thing! I saw the prior review by Sue T. about the paperwork for this office. I downloaded all the paperwork on from their website and it made it a lot easier when I showed up for my first visit. I have a high deductible, and amazingly they did not collect everything at the first visit. The other doctors I visit collect the balance in full, but they only took $50 and billed me the rest later. The office is old and is in an older part of town. The building is old as well, but it is fairly well-maintained. This office does no cosmetic and it shows. I have no interest in fancy artwork or fancy electronic toys, so I was very comfortable. It's a very simple office, but very nice and homely. The staff is very nice and seems to enjoy working there. I see the same faces every time, so I do not think they have a lot of turnover like some other medical offices. I've been pleased with all my three visits and definitely give Dr. Patel and his staff 5 stars.

I genuinely hate having to leave this review because I think very highly of Dr. Kia. He is an…read moreexcellent dermatologist, and I would gladly continue seeing him if it weren't for the experience I've had with his office staff. Unfortunately, the administrative and billing issues I've experienced have completely overshadowed the quality of care I've received. I was scheduled for a procedure while transitioning between employers and health insurance plans. I specifically raised concerns with the office because I knew my insurance coverage would terminate before the end of the month. Despite my repeated concerns, the staff insisted that health insurance coverage always continues through the end of the month, assured me that the procedure had already been authorized, and encouraged me to proceed with my appointment. I questioned this information because I knew my coverage was ending, but ultimately trusted the guidance of the staff responsible for handling insurance matters. Unfortunately, my original concerns were correct. My coverage had terminated, leaving me uninsured for the two days in question. Instead of having the procedure covered under my insurance plan, for which I had already satisfied my deductible, I received a bill exceeding $1,000. When I contacted the office to address what had happened, I was met with a complete lack of accountability. Staff initially denied providing the information and then suggested that another employee must have been responsible. Rather than acknowledging that I had been given incorrect information, they placed the responsibility entirely on me. To make matters worse, the balance was eventually sent to collections and has now negatively affected my credit. I fully understand that patients have a responsibility to understand their insurance coverage. That's precisely why I raised the issue BEFORE the procedure. I knew there was a potential coverage gap, communicated that concern, and was repeatedly assured by the office that I was mistaken. Had they simply listened to my concerns rather than confidently providing inaccurate information, I would have postponed the procedure until my new insurance became effective. Instead, I'm now being held financially responsible for a situation I specifically tried to prevent. What is most disappointing is that this was entirely avoidable. Mistakes happen, and I understand that. But the unwillingness to acknowledge the misinformation, take responsibility, or offer any reasonable resolution is what has made this experience so frustrating. Dr. Kia is a wonderful doctor, and it's unfortunate that the administrative side of the practice has left me feeling that I cannot return. I sincerely hope Dr. Kia or someone in practice leadership sees this review and takes the time to look into what happened. I would welcome the opportunity to resolve this fairly, including removing the outstanding balance and addressing the collection account. For anyone considering this practice, my advice is simple: Verify your insurance coverage directly with your carrier. Do not rely on assurances from the office staff, even when they confidently tell you that you're covered or that a procedure has been authorized. Excellent medical care should be accompanied by accurate information, accountability, and a willingness to make things right when mistakes occur.

On one of the many sleepless nights with a burning itch on my neck, I found Dr. Abramovits on Yelp and found I could get an appointment the next morning. I went, and I was attended to swiftly. His assistant took ample notes, and he came in and gave me a warm greeting - it wasn't the rash, trust me. He was very nice and could see the pain I was enduring. He prescribed me some steroid foam and off I went with some samples to get started. I finally had some relief and took a long nap. This was a Friday. Things were going well, but my reaction seemed to flare up again on Sunday. I made an appointment first thing Monday to see him later that morning. He sees me, is very nice about and tells me I need to give the steroid foam more time but saw that I needed a prescription strength moisturizer due to the effects of the steroid. Now, just a few days later, my rash is starting to clear up. The rash itself has been one of the worst experiences of my life - I know, some people have it worse - but Dr. Abramovits gave me the treatment I needed and was understanding of my plight, not charging me for my second visit since only the weekend had passed. I'll be seeing him again soon for my patch test, and I'll follow up then.

Absolutely the worst dermatology experience out there…read more First, they had me come in and paraded in a few intense, one who was wearing a mask below her nose like an idiot. Then I had to come back because the one doctor doesn't do any cutting and I had a weird colored mole. But wait, they didn't actually take that mole but cut another one I wasn't worried about that was in a place you couldn't stitch so I had an open sore for a couple weeks Worst of all, I was waiting to see what insurance would cover and exploring told the lady in person and over the phone a couple weeks later to call me once insurance was done and I'd pay it immediately. Instead I get a call from collections. Adding insult to injury, they will not stop emailing me no matter how many times I ask. Stay far far away from this crappy dermatology clinic.

Dr. McDonough was actually referred to me by another highly respected physician, and I am so…read moregrateful that she did. After seeing several of the top-rated dermatologists in Dallas, I can honestly say that Dr. McDonough is the first dermatologist I've met who I completely trust and feel is genuinely honest. Unfortunately, my experiences with other dermatologists have often left me feeling rushed through appointments, encouraged to purchase expensive products I didn't really need, or even advised to consider unnecessary cosmetic procedures when what I actually needed was straightforward, quality dermatological care. Too often, it can feel like the focus is on selling products or procedures rather than simply addressing the patient's actual needs. Dr. McDonough is completely different. He doesn't push unnecessary treatments or cosmetic procedures. Instead, he gets right to the point, listens to your concerns, and recommends exactly what you need. If an affordable over-the-counter option will work just as well, he'll tell you that, too. I truly appreciate that kind of honesty. His demeanor is friendly, caring, and professional, while also being incredibly informative. He has a genuine, sincere concern for his patients and makes you feel completely at ease. He never makes you feel rushed, but at the same time, he respects your time. I've also been impressed by how closely his office adheres to appointment times. I absolutely hate sitting around in a doctor's office forever, so having a physician who respects your time as much as he respects your health means a lot to me. Most importantly, I leave feeling like my concerns have actually been addressed and my needs have been taken seriously. Dr. McDonough is truly a stand-up physician who puts patient care first, and that is becoming increasingly difficult to find. If you're searching for the best dermatologist in Dallas, congratulations--you've found him! I cannot recommend Dr. McDonough highly enough.
