I am giving a four star review because of Dr. Soh and the girls that work there but I am going to be completely honest.....they really need to treat people as human beings and not just flesh in a factory that you want to process in and out of the chair.....volume not quality. I am thankful they accepted my insurance (last year I paid ~ $700 for the same procedure) BUT you get what you pay for. I went to Winthrop's maxillofacial group last time paying cash (they don't accept insurance) and was treated sooooooo well. I was respected, treated kindly, given all the time in the world and plenty of time with the doctor before AND after surgery. This time around, Dr. Soh was so rushed (doing my 2 extractions- 1 wisdom and the molar next to it) and a person across the hall at the same time. Without any explanation, they strapped my left arm immediately down and started an IV and I couldn't even finish my question before passing out!!!!! I wish they explained that I would start to feel tired and once I wake up, there will be pain but the procedure would be done...SOMETHING!!!!! Not just sitting in the chair and immediately having my left arm strapped down and being knocked unconscious. Crazy. read more

Everything is great , the doc is professional and nice , but the stuff there is horrible , the receptionists are extremely rude . And I think as a patient who's paying cash for a good service should have a good experience when asking questions to this people , they are not professional at all . read more

Bad experience. I realize this is a Medicaid oral surgeon and a wait-time is to be expected, but this was beyond normal. Over 2 hours wait in the office, which was an old office and was not kept very neat or nice. I understand no one really looks forward to the dentist but there are ways to make the experience a tiny bit more comfortable. This appointment was for a wisdom tooth extraction. When i finally got to see the surgeon he was impatient with me and acted as if he was in a big rush and that I was an inconvenience because I had questions for him. Mind you I am 5.5 months pregnant so im unable to go under anesthesia, only novicaine. I was clearly nervous and when they shot me up twice with the numbing agent I started to cry because it hurt. He abruptly stopped and told me to leave and not come back until after I give birth because he said "you obviously cannot handle this". Very rude, nasty and was not clear with any answers to my questions, nor did he make me feel comfortable. Again he made it pretty clear to me that he was in a rush and my questions could not be answered. The dental assistant was actually a lot more helpful. They could have at least prescribed me some antibiotics for the infected tooth even if they were not going to pull it. I will never come back again and actually ran out of there. How can I trust a doctor who wont answer my questions beforehand? Especially during pregnancy? The two stars I gave today were for the girls at the front desk and the X-ray tech. They were helpful and polite and very nice. The most important person at my appointment today (the actual doctor) was such a dissapointment. I would rather pay out of pocket for someone professional and whom I can trust, rather than take my chances with such a rude doctor who clearly did not want to be there today. Again I understand this is a Medicaid office but thats not an excuse for rudeness and terrible bedside manner. Ive waited before in doctors offices for over an hour with no problem because at least my problem was rectified. But a 2+ hour wait to see someone like this? Many other things I would rather waste my time on. Beware! read more

I've been coming to this office for over 15 years, and every time I come they do a fantastic job! In that time I've seen mostly Dr. Garfield, who not only performs his job with the utmost care and professionalism but also is a very intelligent man. The office staff always greets me warmly and I'm in and out no problem. I highly recommend this office to anyone. read more

My experience here wasn't as good as I expected, the staff here are rude, they don't explain to you what your suppose to do the day before your appointment. My appointment was suppose to be at 11:00am and I didn't get seen till 12:30pm! so what was the point of having an appointment , and finally when I get seen they tell me I cant get my wisdom teeth pulled because I wasn't suppose to eat 6 hours before but no one explained that to me the day before. I had to come back at 4:00pm without eating, The Dr. Soh was good though no problem with him. I was extremely upset because I missed a whole day of work for no reason. My son was there at five years old and they pulled a tooth without numbing him. In fact he said that was held down while they pulled it out. He was crying hysterically and the receptionist ask us to leave immediately because he was disturbing other patients. My wife got a double-sinus lift at this office this week. She has been to this office several times for extractions. Drs. D'abundo and Garfield have both done work for her. They always take her within 15 minutes. Dr. D'abundo did amazing work on the sinus lift as well as most of her past work. There were never any complications, and they provided excellent after-care instructions. The whole procedure took less than an hour. They also took my brother-in-law for an implant on short notice, he said the procedure was almost painless, and he didn't even need pain medication afterward. Their staff is caring and efficient. The doctors truly care about their patients. Their rates are reasonable, they are honest, and do excellent work. We could have gone anywhere for the sinus lift but chose this office, because of how trustworthy and experienced they are. We would recommend these doctors to anyone needing dental surgery. read more

I had to get all of my wisdom teeth removed today. First off, it took nearly a week to get an appointment so I had to deal with the agonizing pain for that long. The staff was very unprofessional and rude. I would not recommend this office mainly for their staff and the fact that the office smelled like a dirty hotel smoking room. The friendliest person I came across was the actual oral surgeon D'abundo, that was short lived since I was placed under general anesthesia. I also felt that they are in a rush to get you off the phone when you're trying to set up an appointment and this caused a problem once I came into the office, I almost was sent away to come in another day due to the fact I was not informed that I had a copay that had to be paid before they performed the extraction. It was $340 that had to be paid on the spot that I wasn't planning on. I have no idea how my surgey went since the Surgeon didn't come to speak to me afterwards,not even the nurses informed me as to how it went. So far I'm in a lot of pain naturally, hoping I heal without any issues. Hope this helps! read more

The building, the elevator, and yes..the office are very run down and disorganized. The front desk intake receptionist was extremely rude. I immediately considered leaving when I was handed the paperwork but knew that I had to get my teeth looked at. You would think this lady and I had met before and we had some sort of spat. I don't know how else to explain it. The visit was rather quick, the ladies who did my x-rays were nice, the doctor was pleasant too. I'm still shopping around for other places that can do the procedure simply because I'm not sure I feel comfortable there due to the waiting room's cleanliness and I'm not sure if they are properly equipped in case something goes wrong during general anesthesia. I did not ask about that, but I just have that feeling that I can do better. read more

This past week, my daughter had 4 wisdom teeth removed at this office by Dr. Soh. We waited in the lobby of the office for over and hour and a half before she was seen for her surgery. When we checked in with the receptionist, she did not give us the courtesy to let us know the they were very behind, until I got up 20 minutes later and asked how much longer it will be. She said about 20 minutes. We waited patiently in the over crowded lobby, of which it did not feel as it was kept clean by any sorts. Now 45 minutes had gone by, and the receptionist said we were next. Another 30 minutes went by until our name was called. We were finally greeted by Dr. Soh, who was very kind and professional. I felt assured the surgery would go well after speaking with him, but we were very concerned prior due to the horrible office experience. We made him aware of the situation, as he was very apologetic and had no idea we were waiting that long with poor communication. We were very close of getting up and leaving the office, but since my daughter was in a lot of pain, we could not postpone the removal. I recommend Dr. Soh for the procedure, but he should change staffing and office. The office should call the client a head of time in the office is running very behind! read more

Had to get my wisdom teeth pulled on an emergency I made an appointment and was seen in two days as a matter of fact they offered to see me the day I called because I said I was having pain but I could not make it that day. I read some previous reviews about people not being given instructions. Well not sure what that guy was on my dentist gave me a blue card which had all the info about not eating an having someone with me (guess he didn't read the card) .When I called to make appointment they reminded me and when the office called to confirm they reminded me again. I was seen in about 30 mins which is not bad when I hurt my shoulder the orthopedist had me waiting for 60 + mins. I understand they do take my insurance which few offices honestly no offices in Nassau County did so I actually am grateful . Dr DAbundo did my surgery was professional as was the staff had no memory of the surgery and actually the car ride home. I came to this place for the first time this past Tuesday. I had to get all 4 wisdom teeth out. I was very scared off course but my experience with this office and Dr.Soh even from just the phone was very pleasant and great. They were able to take me in right away and despite my nerves they did all they could to make me feel at ease. They answered all my questions and concers. I was given general anesthesia witch I highly recommend because you don't feel a thing. The whole procedure took about 45 minutes but I felt like I was asleep for 5 minutes, next thing I knew I was being awaken and told it was all over. Pain since then hasn't been severe thanks to the meds off course. I have followed thier care instructions and I have to say I'm recovering pretty well. I highly recommend this oral sergeant office, I've had a great experience and no complaints! I'm still impressed at how easy and fast it all was! read more

This dental group (Merrick Oral Surgeon) was recommended by my dentist, when I called & asked about the cost of the anesthesia for to pull my tooth (told not covered by Cigna), I was quoted $300 for the anesthesia & $24.00 for the tooth extraction. The receptionist does not have respect for the patient's privacy, was very rude to several patients we could overhear her discussions with them concerning their plan coverage & responsibility. Several patients had Medicaid hmo or state plans, she was so loud and rude we could here her tell one patient he had no coverage & she did not have all day to wait for the check his benefits. When I was called in for to do a panoramic xray, the area is in the thruway to the exam rooms, so I was facing the waiting area (with door open) to get my xray done, no privacy patients/staff are walking past me while my mouth is wide open facing them getting the xray done. I was told to go back to the waiting room, to wait again. While I was in the exam room & they were ready to administer the anesthesia the receptionist comes in giving me a breakdown of what I owed them, suddenly the anesthesia fee jumped to an additional $50 than was quoted on the phone & I had to pay them $50 for my deductible & $24 for the tooth extraction. If I did not make a fuss, that I was misled on the phone and told $300, one of the staff members claimed she spoke to the dentist and would "give me a break" to charge me the $300. She was so nasty and told the other receptionist that "she didn't want me giving her a hard time about "only $50". After the procedure was done, my husband told me they rushed him to get me & told him that this is not a place for sleeping. They did not allow a few minutes for me to recuperate from the anesthesia, I was so groggy I almost fell of the exam table and while walking out was still stumbling and could barely walk. My husband had to ask them to slow down and allow me a few minutes to gain my baring. They wanted me out, so they could put another patient in, treated us like cattle. Hell, my dog got better treatment at the veterinarian's office when he had surgery done & had anesthesia, the vet allowed my dog to recuperate before I took him home. I would not recommend this place to anyone, the staff are low class, uneducated morons. The place is not fit for man or beast. read more

Horrible. I went here to get a consultation for a dental implant. I made an appointment for 11am. I was not seen till 12pm. The receptionist was extremely rude. Mispronounced my name after me correcting them several times. I was told that there were 6 peolple ahead of me but they might be able to squeeze me in ( i have an appointment for 11am). Told me I had a $50 deductible. Um for a consultation?? I think not. Finally I met with the dentist. I was explaining my problem and immediately he wanted to put in an implant. Without even checking my teeth. After telling me he could put in the implant right then and there, going over payment options. He finally checked the spot. He then realized it was not possible for me to have an implant. He was so money hungry he could've messed up my whole mouth. The nurses made me feel like they were doing me a favor by letting the doctor see me. As I left they were still asking for the $50 deductible. No way. I'm going to get a second opinion because this guy is so money hungry it's gross. read more
