Great work Martian Movers!!! We hired them to move our house into an apartment and they did a fantastic job! The crew was very nice, attentive and extremely respectful of our properties and belongings. They were so fast.... in less than 4 hours we were done. Some challenges as narrow stairs and tiny corridors were addressed always with a smile on their face, what a nice attitude! Highly recommend Martian Movers, you will be happy with them! read more

I used Yelp & read the reviews for 3 local moving companies. I then called each of the 3 I choose. Cal-Safe Movers had a live person who picked up and assisted me immediately. The other 2 companies unfortunately had a voicemail service that I left a message on. Both companies said someone would be in touch in 2-4 hours. Although 1 called within the timeframe I'd already made my decision. The 3rd company took 3 days to return the call. So back to Cal-Movers, Carissa assisted me via the phone & emails. She was awesome. 2 days later Eddy, Nathan,& Gabe arrived promptly. Now I'd authorized 2 guys but 3 showed up. I then really felt I had no choice and had to use all 3. Initially I felt miffed they'd pulled a fast on on me. However in the long run they were able to complete the job in my minimum time window. Had it been 2 guys I most likely would have gone over. In retrospect I probably paid about what it would have been either way. The guys were pleasant, professional, quick, did not waste any time, and treated my belongings with TLC & respect. In the end I did have 1 item of furniture slightly damaged & a few scratches on my old places laminate floor. You know it happens and wasn't due to neglect or abuse. This is why you get the "insurance". I've placed a claim so once resolved I will add if I was satisfied it was taken care of in a fair & timely manner or not. read more

Moving experience was top notch. Crew was on time and efficient. Moving was done in less time than quoted and this crew had a flat rate max and the price actually came in less than the max flat rate. Pricing was ethical and honest and the men worked really hard. I would certainly use Cal-Safe Movers again. read more

Excellent service from my initial phone call to the delivery of a washer and dryer. The persons who handled my request were extremely nice and willing to work with my schedule. The two movers were polite and worked very quickly. They were very careful and it was clear that they knew what they were doing. The transport of a washer and dryer from a single family residence with a few steps in Los Osos into a mobile home in SLO with steep stairs was seemless. Highly recommend this business and would use them again. read more

Best in the biz! First point of contact with Brad was excellent, throughly explained what to expect on move day allowing peace of mind within the move process. Two guys and a truck Nate and Michael showed up on time and ready to go: they worked quickly, safely and efficiently with a positive friendly attitude the entire time. They were courteous and professional, would definitely recommend Cal-Safe Movers to anyone I know. 5+ stars across the board. Thank you, thank you, thank you! read more

I hired Martian Movers on the recommendation of a elder placement company to move my elderly mother from one assisted living facility to another 10 minutes away. She lives in a one bedroom. I was quoted a 4 hour move window. The movers took 9 hours to move my mom. I had hired other movers to move her from San Luis to Santa Maria and it only took 4 hours. They took took long and it ended up costing over 1,000.$ more. Would never use them again. read more

Cal-Safe Movers are amazing! I needed a very large piano and some other furniture moved from a tight space 300 miles away. I was looking into renting a truck and hiring people to help load and unload, but things were getting complicated, stressful, and expensive. After talking to Ron at Cal-Safe Movers, my stress dissapeared. He took care of arranging everything. Cal-Safe Movers Ernest and Nate were able to pick up my items with one of their great trucks and safely transport and unload everything. They were easy to communicate with, arrived on time, were super friendly, and handled our furniture with care. True professionals! I highly recommend this company. Having heavy things moved hundreds of miles is not cheap, but their pricing is straigtforward and very competitive. Shop around if you want, but I doubt you'll find a better moving company. Thank you, Cal-Safe Movers!!! read more

Nathan and his team were prompt, professional, strong, careful and hard working. They handled our belongings as if it were their belongings. Not only did they move our property extremly cautiously, they did it very quickly. As a result, the move was flawless and way under their original price quote. I highly recommend Cal-Safe Movers. Hello Everyone...I'm Jane H. I moved Nov 12 with Cal Safe Movers. This company deserves 10 STARS not 5!!!!! Carissa, Ernest (from the moment he arrived I got good vibes) to the actual moving team he picked for me!!!!.....Luis, Michael and James. THEY ALL WERE GREAT! In fact my team moved me for even less than the lower estimate which Ernest gave me. I would highly recommend CAL SAVE MOVERS to anyone. Pls pass this information to any of your friends who have an upcoming move ahead of them. read more

Everything about this experience was excellent. Chris, who arranged the move, was efficient and always answered my questions, quickly. Eli, Fabian, and Jacob, the movers, were very professional but friendly. They seemed like nice guys who actually liked their jobs. They wrapped everything and moved it carefully, paying close attention when going thru doorways. They even covered the front door! I've never seen a mover do that. Very impressive. Even if they were more expensive, I would still use them. Thanks guys. read more

This moving company provides a written estimate for the costs related to moving. The cost was reasonable, we were very happy with their service. They arrived on time, did a house and garage walk-through with us and started loading right away. They were nice and careful and worked quickly considering all the things we had. The unloading was efficient, they put all the pieces where we asked them to. Would highly recommend them. We used them again as our go-to movers. read more

Stop shopping and book Cal-Safe Movers. Cal-Safe Movers moved our business from two small offices in downtown Paso Robles to a large, two-story office on Ramada Dr. Of the four highly rated local movers who bid the job, they were the most highly rated (Google & Yelp) and the least expensive. They delivered exactly as they promised. Ron, Nate, Jason, and their crew were courteous, professional, conscientious, and fun to have in the office! In the end, they finished on time and charged $200 less than their original estimate for a multiple location, 17k lb move. Three trucks, 7 movers, 1 very satisfied business-to-business customer. We'll use them again anytime we need moving help. Thanks, Cal-Safe Movers! read more

The guys at Cal-Safe are lifesavers! The monsters at U-Haul kindly called us on Thanksgiving Day to tell us we needed a backup plan for our move from Pismo Beach to Los Angeles in a few days due to "a massive equipment shortage". Sure...no big deal to try and find a backup plan on Thanksgiving. We called half a dozen places, but of course everyone was closed. As a hail mary, I texted the number on Cal-Safe's website on Thanksgiving, not really expecting a response. However, Brad responded right away and assured me they could take care of the job. He even worked with our limited budget. Ben and Jared did a fantastic job moving us the day-of. They were friendly and insisted we didn't lift a finger, and everything arrived in excellent shape. I am so impressed with how quickly and efficiently they came through for us at the last minute. That's why I'm sitting here writing this review instead of unpacking. They came through when I didn't know what else to do. Thank you!! read more

If you're moving anywhere outside of SLO, I would not recommend Cal Safe Movers. I've never used a moving company before, but I was moving to another town, so I thought it was the best option. My expectation was that I would have professional movers who knew what they were doing. Unfortunately, that's not what I got. My phone conversations with the co-owner initially were very professional. I described the building that we were moving into, and he assured me that they could handle the job. They gave me a price, and I agreed based on what I thought that I was getting. When the movers came to my house in SLO, everything was great. I gave them the particulars of how the move needed to go for the apartment in San Diego. I was moving to a high rise apartment, so there were specific procedures that needed to be followed. I felt confident in the team packing in SLO. When they showed up the next day in San Diego, I was not as confident. One person from the moving company showed up, and he hired his friend from San Diego. So technically, I was only paying for 1 professional mover at that point. That was my first red flag. The second red flag was the movers were hitting our walls, causing scrapes and dents, which ultimately we will have to fix. Then we started getting complaints from our property management company that our movers were disrespectful to the other tenants and employees. They were blocking the elevator buttons and were using all of the elevators (which they were only allowed to use the assigned elevator). Then when our property manager confronted the mover about it, he started arguing with her. She then told us they needed to be removed from the premises. Thankfully, they were done with the job. This behavior from the movers was unacceptable. As tenents, we are responsible for all people we invite to the property. Not only was this a bad first impression that we gave our new community, but our lease could have been terminated as well. And since we were in the middle of that confrontation, it made for a very awkward experience. I emailed the owner and he did apologize and say that they need more training. However, I PAID a lot of money for professionals, and now I have to PAY to fix my damaged walls. So although I'm glad he apologized, this was not enough. I have several friends who will be moving in and out of SLO, and I will have them steer clear from Cal Safe Movers. read more

I used Cal-Safe mover to pack up, store, and deliver our belongings after a long remodel. Everything about their work was professional and friendly, from the original walk through and estimate, to the final delivery. At this writing, I have unpacked 90% of the boxes and have found few mistakes or dings. I could never have packed so well myself. Both crews were friendly and hardworking. Cal-Safe was also very responsive to a few particular requests. (1) Our delivery timeline kept changing. No problem. (2) I needed some chairs removed from storage for reupholstery. No problem, although I was willing to work with their schedule. (3) My husband's desk was a pain to reconstruct, and he wasn't here to guide us. The crew was careful and tolerant and did it twice as I re-thought its orientation. I was very satisfied and recommend this business whole-heartedly. read more

Look no further. Cal Safe Movers are the company to go with hands down. I've used (4) different movers in the past for "long distance" moves and none compare to Cal Safe Movers. They were conscience of not breaking things in transport and most importantly the weight since they would be going through (2) weigh stations. And most importantly, we do NOT wear shoes in our house. They were very accommodating. They had coverings for the floors and still took their shoes off. Call Cal Safe Movers now! Il read more

I got quotes from 3 local moving companies in SLO. Cal-Safe was the lowest quote, but I was leery because the quote said it was an estimate. Not a firm quote. I decided to take a chance and got with Cal-Safe and did not regret the decision. The office staff were always friendly and helpful and the moving crew was friendly and very efficient. The ended up finishing the move in less time than they estimated by 3 hours! Moving is not fun, but Cal-Safe made the experience much less stressful. Cal-Safe just completed a relatively complicated move that moved our old home to four different locations including a SLO to Portland Oregon portion. Cal-Safe earned my gratitude last Fall with a short local haul, so I called them for a bid on my long haul move from Sonoma to A.G.. Ron did the bid via FaceTime, which was super easy, and his inventory was detailed and accurate. The bid wasn't the cheapest, but close to it, and was very thorough, eliminating any hidden costs or variables. Fast forward to move dates-- one day for a team of six to load and pack (we had packed a ton, but it was amazing how much they still had to pack), in just 5 hours-- huge house, garage & shed full of stuff. They were so expert in packing and wrapping. Next day to unload, with a team of 9-- great guys who were all friendly & helpful, nice to me giving them so many directions for what went where. Out of over 15,000 lbs of stuff, there was only one mishap which they pointed out to me will be taken care of in short order. Overall, a stellar experience that exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend Ron and Brad and their teams-- definitely the best movers I've ever worked with! read more

I recently moved from AG to Paso. Considering COVID, asking a bunch of friends to come over seemed out of the question. The short window in which to move out of the old and into the new was also an issue, not to mention the 2-hour round trip. I got bid from a few places and in the end, I went with Cal-Safe. After talking with Ron, it seemed a great fit. Their costs were in-line and we talked through an approach to make it easy on the day of the move. Their team was organized, on-time, and efficient. We had 1-item break, and Ron bent over backward to make it right and didn't shove the contract at me. Hopefully, I won't be moving for a long while, but if I do, I'll be contacting Ron at Cal-Safe. read more

If I could give ZERO stars for trickery and dishonesty, I would. Cal Safe did a good job for me on the first job when they moved the contents of my home into storage. When they learned of my long distance move out of state and my plan to use U Pack, he urged me to use him, said he does long distance moves all the time, blah blah blah. So I trusted him and chose to go with his company. However, when the moving van showed up, it was National Van Lines! What? The owner/coordinator from Cal Safe never showed up, was impossible to reach, gave poor directions to the company that showed up, and made for a very disjointed, unplanned move with movers that didn't even work for the moving companies! They were unskilled laborers picked up on the side of the road to work for the day! They delivered literally half of each piece of furniture, leaving the other half for some other load they would eventually deliver a long time later. And when I say half, I mean half! They brought half of the bed, half of the table, china hutch with no legs, no hardware for the bed, a mattress, but no boxspring etc.! Long story long, I had $25,000 of damaged furniture including a $7000 Cal King Tempurpedic mattress that they strapped to the OUTSIDE of the moving van! This mattress endured 2500 miles of hurricane rains, and attempted theftI my white Italian custom sofa arrived unwrapped ( they unwrapped it themselves back in CA for no reason) and soaking wet and stained from being shoved to the top of the van with rain dripping down onto my sofa. I had opted for full replacement insurance, paying a premium for that, but so far, neither company has stepped up and paid for the damages. Cal -Safe NEVER told me that they were just a third party bookie never intending to personally do the drive. I was deceived. Cal safe is equally responsible for the damages due to their reckless and irresponsible manner in which they packed my furnishings! After numerous attempts to try to talk to Brad or Ron about the circumstances of my move, the damages, the surprise that it was going to be a different van line, etc, no attempts on their end for me to reach out to me, explain, apologize, nothing. My insurance claim is now on the backs of national Van lines even though I signed the insurance coverage with Cal Safe! It's a nightmare that has been going on for 8 months now! I am out almost $6000 for replacement mattresses, have a huge heavy water damaged mattress in my garage that needs to be removed at expense, a damaged sofa that needs new upholstery, multiple damaged wooden tables that need refinishing, broken shelving wall units, a bed that cannot be assembled because we never found the hardware needed to assemble it, broken Ralph Lauren china, damaged wall art, broken pottery, the list goes on. I'm planning to sue all drivers, movers, and both companies to get this resolved. read more
