We were actually referred to them through U-Haul. After 10 years it was time to move out of a 1400sf 3br+, 2ba house. I guess we had a lot more stuff than I thought as the truck we rented ended up being completely packed from floor to ceiling (and front to back) using what I can only describe as some amazing pro Tetris skills. These guys took a look over the house analyzing everything that had to go into the truck and maximized the space efficiency at speed. It didn't matter how big/heavy/awkward the furniture - these guys worked together to make it happen at blazing speed. Stairs were not a problem either. I've moved a few times and I'd never seen anything like this especially for the price. I even hired them for a 2nd job of removing the 10 years of accumulated junk that we weren't taking. I will most definitely 100% hire these guys again and recommend them to anyone looking for a moving assist.

Unloading in less than an hour, while I had the two of them scheduled for 2 hours. I just needed help unloading but they are also able to help do some unpacking and set up too. Their methods were a bit questionable and there was some damage to my furniture. What was most unsettling was their comments. Although they seemed polite up front, I found some of their remarks were fairly racist. I did not feel safe and would not hire them again.

Professional Team, a Remote-Estimate System That Needs Work…read more We hired Central Coast Moving & Storage on a friend's recommendation -- he'd told us they had an excellent reputation and a system built specifically for moving people from out of the area into Paso Robles. That pitch is what sold us, so I called and spoke with Nate, who walked us through how it works. The system: you use your phone to take photos and videos of everything you're moving. They come back with a fixed, binding estimate. Then a driver heads down from Paso, hires local help to load you up, and the same truck delivers to Paso. A clean idea -- until move day. The estimate was way off. I had documented everything I could -- cabinets, closets, drawers -- and even called Nate's team a few days before the move with an updated set of photos of every box in the garage and what was left in the house. "Are you sure that's enough truck?" I asked. They said no problem. It wasn't. Come move day, the truck showed up and it was obvious from the first walkthrough that it wouldn't fit. That kicked off a stressful scramble. I called the company, got Jay on the phone, and we started working the problem. The eventual solution: load the truck with what would fit, drop a portion at a local storage unit, come back for the rest as planned, then send a partial-load truck from LA a few weeks later to pick up our remaining things from Escondido and deliver them to their storage in Paso. Our stuff sat in a storage unit a few weeks longer than it should have -- which added more stress to an already hard day -- but it worked out. A few things saved this from being a one-star review. The local movers were genuinely great -- professional, courteous, careful. Daniel, their ops manager, personally oversaw the final delivery to Paso. We had a couple of credit-card charges hit that shouldn't have, and they fixed them right away. I ended up working directly with Blake, their new GM, who took full responsibility and made sure his team resolved every issue. And despite the operational chaos, in the end we paid exactly what the original estimate said we'd pay -- they didn't try to upcharge us for their miss. My honest feedback to Blake (which I'll share publicly here too): the remote-bid system doesn't work for moves of any real size. They need to hire a local estimator and put actual eyes on the property they're bidding to move. Photos and videos -- even thorough ones -- miss too much. That one change would have eliminated about 90% of the pain on our move. Three stars: this is a company under new management, openly working through real growing pains. The people we dealt with were professional and accountable, and they made it right financially. If you're considering them, ask whether they'll send someone out in person to walk your property before binding the price. If yes, I'd bump my rating up considerably. If they're still doing it remotely, plan for surprises on move day.

Without hesitation, Aaron and his team helped me to get all the Vet paperwork and correct kennel to ship my mom's little dog from LAX to Little Rock, AR. He put the kennel together and drove us from the central coast to the airport. At check in, Aaron stayed with us to get through the paperwork and on board together to make the journey. He even made a surprise Starbucks run, much appreciated at 5:30 in the morning while waiting in a long line. I recommend this company to everyone. No job is too odd, small, or unimportant. This was by far the most unprofessional and abusive moving company I have ever dealt with, and I implore you AVOID this company at all costs. If you want your items and furniture to be taken care of and arrive UNDAMAGED or ARRIVE AT ALL (as they did not for me), HIRE ANY OTHER MOVING COMPANY!! They do not care about you or your belongings. Here's a snapshot of my experience: I hired them to move my belongings from San Luis Obispo to San Francisco. From the very beginning in San Luis Obispo, the movers did not use blankets, padding, or any materials to meaningfully protect my items. I watched them place my dresser, nightstand, bed frame, and other wood furniture DIRECTLY onto the concrete sidewalk, then stack everything in the truck bare. By the time my items were delivered in San Francisco, nearly every major piece of furniture was damaged. My dresser and nightstand had multiple chips and scratches, my bed frame and headboard were gouged, my refrigerator had a large dent, and my picture frames were scuffed and chipped, and ripped, some of them irreplaceable. In addition to the damage, some of my belongings never arrived. My rug and lampshade are still missing to this day. During delivery, the movers also brought out items that did not belong to me, including a mattress and multiple framed pictures. I informed them immediately that the mattress was not mine and it was removed, but I was left with another customer's picture frame. This raises serious concerns for me about how customers' property was being handled. The most egregious part of this move occurred during delivery in San Francisco. After the movers arrived, saw the apartment, and began unloading, they did not raise any issue or mention any additional charges. However, halfway through unloading, they demanded an additional $412 via a Change Order and refused to continue carrying my belongings upstairs unless I signed and paid immediately. I was told my items would be left in the lobby if I did not agree. This happened in the middle of the move, after a significant portion of my belongings had already been brought into the apartment. I felt I had no practical choice but to sign in order to complete delivery, and I believe the way this fee was imposed mid-move was misleading, coercive, and improper. When I politely pointed out some of the damage, one of the movers, became hostile. He shouted at me, saying "F*** you man, I'm done," before storming out of my apartment. He left my mattress lying on the floor and the headboard loose and improperly installed. The other mover offered minimal help before also leaving, but the job was incomplete and I was left to deal with the situation on my own. After the move, I tried multiple times to reach the company's manager, Kevin, who was my main point of contact. I left several voicemails explaining that I wanted to discuss the serious issues I had faced. He never called me back--and has yet to do so. Adding insult to injury, before all of this, when I asked to reschedule my delivery from Sunday to Monday, which happened to be Labor Day, the company agreed no problem but sent me a text saying, "Yes, we can do that, no problem, but please tip our guys well as they'll be giving up their Labor Day." Asking for a tip in advance of service is highly unprofessional. I would happily tip for a job well done, but this could not have been more of a disastrous move. In the end, my total charges increased from the original $2,100 "Not to Exceed" estimate to $2,500 after the mid-move Change Order. My belongings were damaged and some items were missing, one of the movers verbally berated me and left the job incomplete, and I was required to sign and pay an additional fee in the middle of unloading in order to complete delivery. The company has since failed to meaningfully communicate directly with me. I have filed formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the California Bureau of Household Goods and Services. This company's conduct during my move was reckless and abusive, and in my experience highly misleading. If you value your belongings, your money, or your peace of mind, I strongly recommend choosing another company. I have attached photos showing the lack of protection and the resulting damage so others can make an informed decision.
