Full disclosure, my wife and I have been to Dolce cafe's sister establishment, the Dolce Bakeshop,…read moreand they were really great... so we went in to the Dolce Cafe expecting a certain level of taste and quality. We were NOT disappointed! I don't typically eat breakfast (yeah, yeah... I know, it's the "most important meal of the day") but when I do, I have two generalized categories I stick to- sweet or savory. Today was savory, so I ordered the breakfast sandwich... think, McD's bacon, egg & cheese biscuit... but made like your grandma would do it. It was an absolutely perfectly orchestrated meal. Now, while it was a "sandwich"... I had to use a fork and knife to eat it because it was so big and deliciously messy (I wanted to eat it, not wear it for the rest of the day). My wife got the grain bowl, which I fully expected to come out looking like a bowl of petting zoo food, but instead, it actually looked pretty dang good! She said it was delicious and described it as a perfectly balanced meal- filling, but not too heavy. She got a London Fog tea while I went with an iced mocha... it is summertime in south Mississippi, after all. Both drinks were as good as they were expected to be, coming from the Dolce family of eateries. Let's talk atmosphere for a second. If you like a loud, obnoxious atmosphere with busy, hustling and rude staff... stay away from Dolce. This place is so laid back and relaxed and the staff is simply amazing! Customer service is obviously a top priority here. The dining room was clean, the staff wore masks (to accommodate for the COVID-19 hysteria) and did I mention how awesome the service was? Because it was really great. We could have sat there all day sipping our coffees and felt welcome the entire time, but unfortunately, I had to get back to work. It could be a little tricky to find, as it's on the back of the building at 1720 Pass Road (look for the signs), but it's well worth the stop and it's in a very peaceful area with a nice view from inside and a nice, shady covered patio outside. We will DEFINITELY be adding Dolce Cafe to our list of regular places and we hope that you will too... small businesses like this one need us to support them, especially now. When a place is as nice, friendly, attentive, and makes food as delicious as Dolce does, it's an easy choice to make.

Coffee? No problem. Tea? Absolutely. Ketchup? Sure. Hot sauce? Of course. Oh wait. My bad. They're out of all of it. At some point I genuinely started wondering whether the restaurant had recently been looted or whether we had accidentally arrived during the final hours before foreclosure. Carbonated water? Nope. Bloody Mary? Bold of you to assume a bar should know how to make one. Mimosa? Apparently you'll need to get your ass back in the car, drive somewhere that maintains a working relationship with both fruit juice AND champagne, and try again. The bar itself appears to be partially stocked, which somehow makes it worse. It's like looking into a pantry after a hurricane. There are technically objects in there. Whether any of them can be combined into a recognizable beverage remains under investigation. And then there's the customer service. Sweet baby Jesus. The overall atmosphere feels less like brunch and more like I accidentally walked into the middle of a workplace dispute nobody bothered to warn the customers about. Nobody appears to be wearing the same uniform, or possibly any uniform at all, so identifying actual employees becomes its own interactive brunch activity. Last time we came in, a woman in a tracksuit approached us with such confidence that I genuinely had no idea whether she worked there, was another customer, or was about to ask us why we were sitting in her section of Planet Fitness. Turns out it was her first day as the hostess. Of course it was. Honestly, at this point, if someone walked out of the kitchen wearing pajama pants, carrying jumper cables, and announced they were the executive chef, I'd just nod and ask whether the ketchup had arrived yet. Nothing about the place feels coordinated. The drinks aren't coordinated. The staff isn't coordinated. The inventory isn't coordinated. I'm not entirely sure the building itself has been informed that it is currently operating as a restaurant. You don't come here for brunch. You come here for an experience. An experience that begins with, "Surely they have coffee," progresses rapidly into, "How are you out of THAT too?" and ends with you sitting in your car afterward staring silently through the windshield while your passenger whispers: "Let's go to Waffle House" Come hungry. Leave confused. And for the love of God, bring your own ketchup.

I saw 3 different dining rooms inside and a bar. So lots of seating. Our server, Alyssa was very nice and had a lot of patience with us. Thank you for that. She eventually took our order once we were ready and the food came out shortly later. I ordered a classic omelet with hashbrowns. The omelet consisted of 8 eggs. Wow!!! It was fluffy and tasted light. It took me about 30 minutes to consume all of it. Btw, Alyssa seemed impressed that I had.
