Miracles do happen...but expert knowledge, some talent, modern equipment...today's medicine is…read moreremarkable. With that said, modern medicine can only do so much...you need to do your part as well. Many times I suppose, thats not enough and the chips lay where they fall... People from all walks of life are referred to the Retina Center for various reasons. For me it was a routine eye examination that alerted the doctor of a potential concern. I have come here for a year now, received expert care...the offices are comfortable and relaxing, the front desk staff are pleasant...but the magic doesn't happen out there, it happens under the expertise of Dr. Todd Schneiderman and his assistants. What a remarkable team...very professional, caring, gentle and knowledgable. It is amazing to observe the abilities...and the many tools (and medicine, laser, etc) they can use. Unfortunately, the person who answered was very short, unfriendly, and dismissive throughout the call. I was told that a visit could cost anywhere from approximately $500 to $2,000 depending on the number of photos taken, but I could not get a more specific estimate. After I thanked her, she abruptly hung up on me without any acknowledgment or goodbye. I understand that medical costs can vary, but basic courtesy should not. This interaction left me uncomfortable moving forward with the practice.

So, we recently moved up to WA and my mom moved with us. She has vision issues and so we went to…read morethe eye doctor to 'see' how her vision was doing. We were referred to Pacific Cataract because the eye doctor saw a cataract and thought that she should talk to the doctors about cataract surgery. We saw a first doctor at PC&L and he did a great job of talking to my mom about cataract surgery in general. Plus, addressing her specific concerns because she only has one eye to see through. We were given time to think about the benefits versus risks, and about a weeks later my mom decided that she wanted the surgery. So, we went in the day of the surgery. I was able to stay with her, they gave her some sort of 'happy juice' to keep her calm. I was able to watch her surgery and they even did a dvd of the surgery so that my mom could see the whole thing. The people at PC&L are really nice. My mom asked the doctor who did her surgery to please say a little prayer, and he happily did, she loved that. My mom felt like she got really good care, I felt like they were super sweet with her, and I saw my first optical surgery from about 7 ft behind a glass wall, enlarged on a tv screen. I made it through without fainting. I did watch some of it through my fingers, but no one made fun of me. They had us come back the next day for a follow up, my mom is doing great and with her one eye, now is seeing the world a little more clearly and colorfully. Thank you PC&L! Highly recommend.

My Husband and I went for a consultation for his cataract removal. He has glaucoma and needed to…read morehave a pressure regulator put into both his eyes during his cataract removal. Everyone here is wonderful. I loved that they said a prayer with him before the surgery. He has had wonderful results! They worked with our local optometrist so we would not have to make the long drive. Wish every where we went had such wonderful employees. The ladies are all so kind and helpful. Thank you all.
