My only good experience in Geneva so far - the foie gras on toast at Martel.

I love just how many flavors there were to choose from besides the typical fruits that everywhere else offers. And the macarons themselves are delicious! I normally don't have much of a sweet tooth but I thought these were great. And my friend went through 6 in one sitting!

Laduree in Cours de Rive is the Geneva branch of the famous French store. The boxes come in units of 8, 12, 15 and so forth, with the 8 piece starting at I believe CHF19.20. The gift boxes cost a little more, and I got an 8 piece for around CHF25. Wanting to cleanse my palette of the McCafe macaron experience, i also decided to purchase a single salted caramel macaron for myself, but the lady behind the counter kindly offered it for free. Which really was kind of her, considering that each of those little things cost CHF2.40. Verdict: macarons are hugely overrated. Clearly, my Laduree macaron was exponentially more delicious than my McCafe one. And considering the McCafe macaron was also CHF1.90, Laduree's price isn't per se unreasonable. Nonetheless, CHF2.40 for a little cake sandwich roughly 1 inch in diameter? I can think of plenty other places where I can better expend my sugar intake.

Had to get a taste of this famous swiss chocolate! There are many different types of chocolate bars (fairly large) for 11+ Swiss Francs, but interesting because the cacao is from different countries all over the world. There is also a small selection of pastries and ice cream. Our worker was very nice. Accepts payment in Swiss Francs and Euros with contactless payment. We even got a sample of that day's special: toffee with almond in chocolate.

We are reviewing this location: Rue du Rhône 17, 1204 Genève, Switzerland…read more We experienced terrible customer service here from Tyna. Tyna was super rude and did not explain the chocolates to us despite us asking. Tyna then asked us to leave our table and said save it for customers with drinks, despite the empty store. Tyna yelled at us for not closing the door behind us and was passive aggressive the entire time. Would not come here if I were you. Do not recommend this place. Chocolates looked average at best and were OPEN, not even in closed containers. I wonder how long they have been sitting out with people coughing on them. How yucky and unsanitary. Tyna also pushed us right out the door the second we received our chocolates. Seemed very annoyed the entire time. Unfriendly and rude Tyna.

They have a large variety of options that can really please a lot of people. Great chocolate options and fruit tarts as well. I ended up getting a praline croissant that tasted like they had just made it fresh from a bakery. It was sinfully scrumptious. The only thing I would recommend that they do to improve their croissants and other dishes are to make them pack better for transport.

Well, at least they know how to make macarons…read more Those were my thoughts as I ate the rose and orange macarons. A few minutes back the server had rolled her eyes as I changed my mind on the macaron selection, but I won't hold the service broadly at fault for the prior evening I'd been helped out patiently by a server with fluent command over English - rarity when that happens, and a quality I'm always grateful for in foreign lands. There's a broad selection of breads and baked goods, and while I liked the croissants and quiches, I rank them far higher as a patisserie. I really liked the Noisettine (hazelnut chocolate biscuit with milk chocolate mousse) that was recommended highly by the server. Also interesting was the Valencia (spiced biscuit with orange and chocolate mousse layers and dark chocolate). A Pougnier would be the one shop in Cornavin Geneva I'd repeatedly return to. They are a top notch bakery (4.5 stars)
