It's so hard to walk by any Ladurée shop with their perfectly soft and yummy macarons. They also have other beautiful French pastries if you are in the mood for something else. It's certainly a nice spot to stop in for a fantastic treat! read more

The location is inside of a department store so not the easiest to spot from the street although their window is street facing. I purchased a box of 15 for my family of five. We tried several different flavors and all were delicious. Unlike a macaron these are bite size and very airy. If you limit yourself to three you'll be craving more. Also unlike a macaron these will not travel well. These are meant to be enjoyed right away. A box of 15 cost about 17 CHF. I'm not sure you can find these anywhere but Geneva so make sure to stop in and try some.

( don't make that mistake) We bought a small bag of macarons from a sweet lady and let me tell you they were so unbelievably flavorful. It was so flavorful, soft and light on the inside and crisp on the outside. We came back the next day and bought a small box to eat during our short stay in Chamonix from this sweet older gentleman. Then came back on our last day, and the sweet guy who I think owns the store chuckled at us for being back so often. Anyway we bought even more macarons for ourselves and another box for a friend's bday gift. We also bought all our chocolate souvenirs for our friends and family from them. Don't miss it!

The staff is fun and speaks English, French, and German as far as I know. This place does get busy around brunch time so be aware. You can eat here on an outdoor table or inside in the back rooms. I love just how many flavors there were to choose from besides the typical fruits that everywhere else offers. And the macarons themselves are delicious! Laduree in Cours de Rive is the Geneva branch of the famous French store. The boxes come in units of 8, 12, 15 and so forth, with the 8 piece starting at I believe CHF19.20. The gift boxes cost a little more, and I got an 8 piece for around CHF25. Wanting to cleanse my palette of the McCafe macaron experience, i also decided to purchase a single salted caramel macaron for myself, but the lady behind the counter kindly offered it for free. Which really was kind of her, considering that each of those little things cost CHF2.40. Verdict: macarons are hugely overrated. Clearly, my Laduree macaron was exponentially more delicious than my McCafe one. And considering the McCafe macaron was also CHF1.90, Laduree's price isn't per se unreasonable. Nonetheless, CHF2.40 for a little cake sandwich roughly 1 inch in diameter? I can think of plenty other places where I can better expend my sugar intake.

They're basically little tea sandwiches on white bread filled with crab salad and alfalfa sprouts. I'm probably an idiot because I ordered the "the froid citron" expecting something homemade but got a bottle of nestea. For 4.60 francs. *sigh* My husband's croque monsieur and salad were fairly tasty. They spoke a little English, which helped us with our rusty French. But all in all, I wouldn't walk a mile again to come back here for their lunch. But I'd consider it to try something from their wide array of desserts, purely based on looks.
