I'm updating my review of Marstons in Valencia. I had been twice when they first opened and I wasn't very impressed. I think they had some kinks to work out. BUT, I've been back three times recently and each experience was really nice. The food, service and outdoor dining area was great. The owner was super sweet, even took my order and brought me my food (it was between their lunch and dinner service). I'm really happy that I can post a positive review for Marston's. It's nice to have a family owned restaurant so close to home that is a pleasant experience. read more

It's so refreshing to find a good restaurant in Santa Clarita that isn't a massive chain! I had the chicken pot pie (delicious!) & my dad's roasted chicken was cooked perfectly. I went here with my wife and son and and a large group of friends. We all received or foods at different times. My breakfast burrito was not that good and the inside filling was luke warm at best. The coffee was ok and the server did a good job and was nice. This is the 2nd time I came here both times the food was bland. Maybe people give this place 4 or 5 stars because they have never been to a real good breakfast spot or they just like the look if the place. Amazing service! Food is always on point. I order a different omelet every time I'm there for breakfast and no matter what they are always amazing and fresh. I love how the owner will walk around and help his staff and check on the customers. The restaurant gives me a at home feeling whenever we are there. We love sitting on the patio for happy hour as well. So happy we have a place like this in town to go and hang out. read more

This place is okay. I think it is $2-3 overpriced all around. The egg benedict was good, nothing special, like any other egg benedict i have every had. The country potatoes were pretty good, although they might have been over-cooked just a tad bit, but again, nothing to really ding it for. I wasnt impressed with the crunchy french toast. I think the place is good, but again, a bit overpriced and not much difference from many other good restaurants. I cant say i am a fan, but again, there was nothing wrong with place! Marston's has fast become an absolute favorite of mine as well as my family. Aside from the fact that everyone knows my mom... the food is amazing! Well thought out menu and the atmosphere is inviting with an outside firepit! We were a very large group (about 20) without a reservation in the middle if Sunday brunch. Everyone was so nice, and the food was amazing!

The one-star review is mostly for the service that I received last night. My waiter Matthew had an absolutely laissez-faire, didn't want to be there, couldn't care less attitude. He walked by our table and wouldn't make eye contact so we couldn't stop him if we wanted anything. Like physically turned his head the other way. I asked for more bread and he acted like I was asking for something outrageous, he was almost taken aback like how dare you? My date and I commented about his attitude the entire time he almost ruined the night for us. The food was okay I had the roasted chicken which is pretty good and my date had the chicken and dumplings which was weird and sweet. All in all I don't think I'll be coming back. read more

Not so much. We went on Father's Day which maybe had something to do with it but I would have much rather gone to Eggs N Things or Egg Plantation in the end. The service was so-so. Had to flag down the waitress several times for coffee refills. The food also took a long time to arrive and when it did, it was mostly cold . We asked for eggs scrambled well and they were runny and slimy, and cold. My daughter asked if they could make her chocolate chip pancakes and the waitress said yes. When it finally arrived, it was m&m pancakes which she didn't want and the waitress told us it was the only chocolate they had. I would have preferred she tell us when we ordered that they didn't have chocolate chips and it would've saved me some grief. For a breakfast place, the menu is somewhat limited compared to the competition and a bit pricier too. Two adults and three children and the bill was nearly $70 without tip. I have 2 scrambled egg whites and toast and that was $11. Overall, not a place I think I will return to. They are much tastier options in Valencia for breakfast. read more

Unbelievable!! For the second time in the last 3 months, I decided to walk out. For the second time in a row, more or less ignored by the wait staff. The first time I was politely seated and then waited about 25 minutes hoping to place an order for eggs, finally feeling shaky, got up and walked out. Today I walked in, giving this otherwise quaint and nice restaurant another chance, to a foray full of people waiting to be seated. Not a word or any attention from the wait staff, after about 10 minutes I had to walk out and headed to Eggs & Things down the street. This is absolutely unacceptable. In all fairness to the wait staff, I believe they are understaffed and / or suffering from poor management. The two ladies that were in there today were working and appeared to be very busy and stressed, although the place wasn't overly full, so it's hard to blame them. Not sure what else to say. I will NOT return to Marston's again. read more

It's always exciting when a new restaurant comes to Santa Clarita, but like most of them that come and go, Marston's is no exception. Bland, overcooked, and not creative in the least. They didn't let us know their specials (I saw them on a chalkboard as I walked out), no bar drink menu (so I also didn't know about their special brunch drinks) I asked if they had alcohol, because you couldn't tell. We got mimosa's and they were okay. I split orders of a Denver Omelet with house potatoes and toast, and macadamia nut pancakes with my friend. The Denver omelet was overdone, the ham, onion, and pepper chunks were cut unevenly thus cooked unevenly, and the entire dish had no flavor. I packed on the Tapatio so I could gain some satisfaction from my eggs. The house potatoes tasted like they sat somewhere for an hour and then scooped on our plate. Again, no flavor and cold. Just awful, especially because I really like potatoes! I then went for a taste of the Macadamia nut pancakes, well, at least someone could have put some thought into them. The little kid at the next table had the same plain pancakes as I did, but mine had a sprinkling of nuts on top. Wow, how inventive! If you mess up breakfast this badly, I can't imagine what a flop their lunch and dinner entrees must be. Sorry Marstons, take better care in training your servers, dish preparation, and variety or you too will go the wayside of the other mundane restaurants of SCV's past. Oh, on another note, if you don't like a Chucky Cheese atmosphere where kids run around, and are loud....veer straight towards another restaurant. read more

First of all....this place is a awesome. Probably once a week we venture to Marston's and are never disappointed. Last night we stopped by for dessert and a night cap. Creme brulé is to die for, an and we also had the brownie. Along with great food.....solid cocktails. A twelve dollar Manhattan that would stack up against any speak easy. Service is personable... Warm...and always accommodating.... This place is a hidden gem. read more

Marston's is our go to Sunday Brunch spot but tonight was our first time for Dinner. Everything went as expected which was perfect. Everything from the food to the service to the staff was perfect. Tonight I want to especially thank Katie and the Social Media term for helping me out and answering questions within a matter of minutes to make our dinner selection process quick and easy. Well the host is really bad at his job, in other words he sucks. They had a 20 minute wait, so I asked to sit in the outside patio. After 5 mins of waiting I asked the host why we are waiting when there are only two tables in use in the outside patio. The host said he will "look into it.". He is a joke, that I would not trust to hand out ketchup packets at a McDonalds. The food was above average over ihop nothing to brag about. read more

I went out to Valencia to try the new Marston's and see how it panned out and it exceeded my expectations!! The pulled pork benedict was spectacular and I managed to eat every last bite. I was seated very quickly even though it seemed to be bustling with business and I felt well attended. I couldn't believe the service was this great when the restaurant was still so new, but all of the employees seemed to be working their hearts out for my meal! The manager was also very attentive and made sure everything was going well at my table and I couldn't have asked for more. I will definitely be coming to Marston's again to try more of what they have to offer. read more

I've eaten here several times now and always for breakfast. The standard eggs Benedict is EXCELLENT. Most places seem to overlook the English muffins. Not Marston's. They grill and butter them to perfection, then top them with a smokey Canadian bacon that's beyond compare. I've also had the Denver omelette made, again, with the Canadian bacon mentioned previously and the blueberry pancakes. I thoroughly enjoyed these dishes as well. read more

I still give this place 5 stars for breakfast, but sadly I feel the lunch and dinner meals have been a more average 3 stars as the entrees haven't been up to the "tasty" levels we've experienced in the past. Hopefully that will change. read more

Marston's has the best happy hour in town! Our favorites are the crab cakes, grilled calamari, ciabatta toast, and smoked chicken nachos! The blackberry lemonade is fabulous as well (though for those who favor gin, they have Hendricks - all time favorite for gin). My fiancé and I went to Marston's early Saturday morning for breakfast wanting to try them out after hearing about how delicious their French Toast was. After being seated outside right away we told our waitress it was our first time eating there and ordered a mimosa. We decided to split the 1/2 order of French Toast and the Classic Eggs Benedict with there special potatoes. Our meals came pre split to our pleasure. The French Toast was excellent, and the Eggs Benedicts had the best Hollandaise Sauce I have ever tasted. The poached egg was cooked to perfection. The special potatoes moist on the inside and slightly crispy on the outside with an awesome flavor. The best I have had since my mom cooked them. The only disappoint we had was both meals came luke warm and that's why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. However, when our waitress ask us how our meal was, we told her it was excellent although or food was not served hot. To our surprise she came back with our bill and had subtracted 50% off the total. Marston's seems to be the place my family goes after a graduation ceremony! We had quite a big party after my own college graduation and a second time after my son graduated preschool. WORST run restaurant in the SCV! While I have had great food and service here (on a slow week day when they were virtually empty), today (Sunday) is unbelievable! After putting our name on the list, we begin to notice all that is going wrong. There is only one host to take all the names, bus and seat the tables (with a wait of 45 minutes to an hour)! Not even sure where that quote came from because there were at least 6 tables open at any given time! A lone manager is standing off to the side (in full view of the patrons waiting to get their name on the list) folding freaking napkins! Meanwhile her boss/the owner comes out of the kitchen, walks TO the host stand (presumably to take their names), but nope! Looks at a few things at host stand and walks away! (He proceeds to walk around acting as though he is attempting to do something useful, but it has yet to be seen...) Seeing our party, the host says he is working to get us a table and runs to the perfect size table for us and busses it, disappears for about 5 minutes and then goes to get menus. But, what a surprise, he calls a DIFFERENT party! It is at that point we walked out of the worst run restaurant in SCV and decided to feed the ducks at the beautiful lagoon out front. I recently moved to Santa Clarita from Las Vegas and being a food lover, was worried about finding good quality restaurants in my new area. A few friends recommended that I try Marston's so I did. I'll just say that this place is one of my local favorites, hands down. I've had great service each time I've gone in (even when it was very busy) and the food is reasonably priced and AMAZING! Their fish tacos are delicious (my personal favorite), filling and fresh and one of my favorite servers, Celestina, is always super friendly and goes above and beyond my expectations. Had the pot stickers, was ok. I ordered a tasty flirty martini and as recommended by the waiter, the hangar steak cooked medium. Mine was fine but friend said hers had fatty pieces. Hated the blue cheese over my mashed potatoes, felt that was not necessary. Hubs had the Jambalaya, said it was ok. Ate outside at the patio next to fire pit. The Pulled Pork Benedict alone is worth the five. Hubby thought the California Omelette well-made. Kiddies enjoyed their grilled cheese, and the fruit served with the meal was beautiful--strawberries, raspberries, pineapple, bananas, and ol' standby melon. Add to that a creative menu, great service (we forgot our take-away box and one of the servers brought it to our car as we were leaving, on a very hot day), laid-back atmosphere--and you have a place that makes me want to return regularly, maybe next time for dinner and drinks. read more

Saw the food online and it looked good but boy was I wrong. I ordered the just eggs and meat (andoulle sausage/wheat toast/over easy eggs). Eggs were undercooked, toast had no butter or jam to come with it, and the sausage looked like it just came out of the freezer. All the food was bland to the point that nit even salt and pepper could make it tasty. Service was great until we were almost done eating. Multiple severs kept trying to take our plates away even when were not done eating. If you want average food with ok service this is your joint. read more

Went there this evening and I wasn't impressed. The service was good but it took awhile for our meals even though the restaurant wasn't that busy. We got there around 8:00 and didn't get the food until a little after 8:30. My daughter's avocado cheeseburger and my tri-tip sandwich came out first but we had to wait another 5 minutes for my wife's chicken sandwich. I should have sent my meal back had it not been so late because the French roll was burnt and so hard you couldn't eat it. The tri-tip was no better...it was over cooked and dry. My wife wasn't that impressed with her dinner as well but she could at least eat it. Considering the prices on the menu you would hope that they could follow it up with good food, or at the very least cooking it right. With all the food choices in Santa Clarita, Marston's will not be on my list of places to go. read more

Wow , really disappointed today. Server took order, 90% correct, then the next time we saw her was when she dropped check. Still eating...Didn't check if meal was delivered as ordered . Asked if needed more coffee at end of meal. Veggie Omelette over cooked , browned. Minimal veggies ,overboard on cheese topping. Dry toast ,no jam ? In past... Eggs Benedict awesome, French toast , Awesome. Food going out the window should have been looked at a little closer, and server MUST check if order delivered properly. Just eggs next time. There's a lot of people eating but the waiting is not too bad around 10:30am. Amazing French toasts and huevos rancheros with Texas chili. The side potatoes was also good. The smoked bacon was tasty but on a thin side. Overall, the experience with food and staff is great. read more
