I've been going to Lily's when it was the 50's Cafe many years ago. A dear friend & I meet there every 3 weeks or so to catch up and visit. Food is always good, especially the things Lily makes herself such as spaghetti and potato & egg salads, YUM. The restaurant is very comfortable, not fancy but very homey and Lily makes us feel like we are at home. Love to hear her walking around, talking with guests and singing with her beautful voice. I've lived in Santa Clarita for 50 years and had never been here. There were three of us tonight. One of us ordered the liver and onions with mashed potatoes. My wife ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and I ordered the chili size with onion rings. We all enjoyed our meals and the chili size was exceptionally good! A regular here for 10 years. Lily the proprietor has a gift for singing about any hymn with her mother closed in perfect pitch. This place is a garden retreat from the cares of the busy world outside. Great homey food at a fair price with good portion sizes. Comfort food at a comfortable price to ones wallet. salads, chili, chicken soup, and sirloin tips are my favorites. read more

I was craving the perfect pancakes one day so my boyfriend took me here. Immediately upon walking up, I thought the entrance was so cute and reminded me of grandma's house. I walked in and knew already I'd love the vibes. It's definitely a spot where regulars frequent, and I'm pleased to say I've now been twice. Overall, this place left me with very mixed feelings. The food came out pretty quickly, and I barely had to wait, which was a big plus. I ordered steak with mashed potatoes and gravy. The steak was honestly excellent - cooked very well and full of flavor. The mashed potatoes were decent too, although there were a few small lumps in them. Overall, the food quality was genuinely very good. For dessert, I got a small scoop of ice cream for $3 and a cherry pie for around $7. Originally, I wanted any kind of fruit pie, but they only had cherry. I also ordered an orange juice. However, the bill was confusing. The steak and mashed potatoes were around $16, the dessert was about $10 total, and even if the juice was around $5, the final total still came out to about $39.65. The receipt also did not clearly mention any additional gratuity or tip charge included in the total. Another issue was cleanliness. The outdoor tables were dirty, although the outside atmosphere itself was actually pretty cozy and pleasant. The worst part happened during payment. I walked up to the register and asked if the total was $40, and the employee said yes. When I handed him the money, I even showed him the receipt to see if he needed it, but he didn't pay attention because he was busy counting the four $10 bills. After I threw the receipt away and he finished counting, he suddenly said it wasn't enough, which honestly made it feel like I was being treated as if I were trying to lie about the payment. He then walked over to the trash can, pulled the receipt straight out of the garbage with his bare hands, went behind the register, and immediately started touching the cash register with those same hands. That completely ruined the experience for me and looked extremely unhygienic. Final thoughts: the food was genuinely very tasty, especially the steak, and the service was fast. But the cleanliness issues, the confusing bill, and especially the hygiene situation make me not want to come back. read more

Maybe it's just me, but cafe's in bowling alleys are the best. I don't think I've had anything from Lily's that wasn't good and I especially appreciate the variety of foods to choose from. Got there early before opening and managed to grab a seat ahead of the regulars--and now I totally understand why people keep coming back. The service was amazing, super attentive, and they surprised our group of four with a complimentary fruit plate. Prices are very reasonable, the food hit exactly what I was craving, and the space is gorgeous with plants and flowers all around. I love that this little restaurant is attached to the bowling alley! There's brunch, lunch and dinner to be had here. Great to bring the whole family, or come in with friends. What an amazing little gem. The service, and food were excellent! I had an omelette with a side of bacon and the missus had an eggs with hashbrowns. Portions were generous and had excellent flavor. The food isn't the only thing that is great here: the general vibe, the attitude, and the service. It's next door to a bowling alley, so, you know, the bowling vibe. Distilled to its essence, Lily's Cafe is a diner. The average patron age is 70 (Sunday morning). I'm not sure I would go here for any meal other than breakfast. Mark my words. My gut tells me that breakfast is their expertise. The laid-back, long game of life is being played here at Lily's Cafe. Unpretentious and unassuming, you are welcomed by plants of all types lining the entryway. Anyone with an old hippie friend will know what I'm talking about. The plants aren't all thriving - they aren't overachieving. They are growing, but they aren't showing off. And it's in a strip mall. Bold. I like it. Lily's place has TVs if you are worried about missing the game. The channels are different, so soccer, football, and basketball are all potentially covered. Lily's is definitely old school and a favorite of locals. Next to the bowling alley on Lyons Avenue, you will find the cafe. When we went it was fairly full and we were greeted and seated promptly by Lily. Coffees came quickly as well which is much needed when you are sitting down for an early breakfast. I ordered the two egg combo with hash browns and sausage and my wife got the eggs Benedict. Both were good, the hash browns could have been a little better cooked and the sausage was on the warm and not hot side. Overall this place was pretty good. read more

This cafe is connected to the bowling alley. The service is great, but the food is just mediocre. You can sit and eat in the cafe or you can have your order delivered to your lane in the bowling alley. This is really your only option for food while bowling, because they don't allow outside food in the bowling alley. We ordered chicken wings and a cheese burger with French fries. The burger was decent, but the wings came out plain without Buffalo sauce. The prices are a bit high for what you get too. The convenience is nice, but we will probably just eat before we come next time. read more
