My husband and I were recommended to walk on over to Marsh's carpet from one of the neighboring stores in their area. We immediately noticed that their customer service was off from the very beginning when we walked in, but they had decent prices from what we noticed so we had continued working with Paul in hopes of ordering some carpet for rooms in our new home. We had finally found the carpet that we wanted to go with, even after Paul was supposed to order us a sample so we could see in person and we never received a call back, letting us know that the sample had arrived. I had called twice to place the deposit with no luck, I even spoke with Justin who also did not have great customer service. Paul did not end up returning our call to place the official order for Carpet to this day and it's been over one week. We chalked it up that because we were only ordering a small quantity of carpet that our business probably did not interest them very much in comparison to the bigger jobs, but this is definitely not quality customer service and we will never recommend this store for any type of flooring. We are repeat customers at liquidator flooring and we were hoping to have a similar experience at Marsh's but this was not the case. No matter the quantity of product being ordered, outstanding customer service should always be provided. Instead, we made our way over to Wood bros and found the best prices in town that are unbeatable, and supreme customer service from the moment you walk in. He listened to what I wanted (light in color yet durable enough for young kids & dogs) and helped me narrow down my options accordingly. Paul was super patient and never pushy at all. I also really appreciate that he helped me save money by suggesting I look at a type that comes in a larger than normal cut, thereby saving me from having to purchase two separate pieces for my family room. This is my third experience with Marshes carpets and they are wonderful. I keep going for remnants and they have beautiful pieces that are so much cheaper than buying the retail. A few months ago, I found a soft and lovely remnant for a funny little room I have off my garage. It took a little while but they installed it earlier this week. Just in time to be working at home because of the Coronavirus crisis. So thankful to have a cozy home office. So glad I chose this piece. The guys did an amazing install. Awesome experience! I went in here on a Monday - found out some pricing options for my about 250 sq ft carpet area to be replaced. I found a remnant piece of carpet that is of a higher quality and was able to get it priced at $649. I haven't ever been carpet shopping so I did leave and price compare with Home Depot. Home Depot just did the rough estimate costs - said it would take 4-5 weeks to be installed and would probably run me about $1200-$1400!!! WTF?! So back I went to Marsh's on that Wednesday threw $100 deposit and scheduled for Paul to come out on Thursday to take the measurements to be sure the remnant piece I picked out would work. All was good in the hood so they came out the following Monday - early said 8am and they got there at about 7:45am and the install was done by 10am! Excellent customer service - excellent install - super happy with our purchase! Glad I didn't go somewhere else and pay DOUBLE for what I paid here! Thanks Paul! read more

I had the pleasure of doing business with Marshs Carpet and it was a breath of fresh air dealing with them. I had originally gone with Empire carpet without checking around first and they wanted to charge me 2 thousand before discounts for a single bedroom and I had to move my furniture and remove the old flooring myself. Then I checked with home Depot and they wanted about the same to do my entire upstairs and master closet during their special which was free installation and free stairs. Seemed like a great deal until after I moved all furniture downstairs myself and they showed up and decided the job was too much work and left. They scheduled to come back again and then call me the day before and cancel and try to reschedule again. After the nightmare of false promises I lost all trust in that home Depot would come out a third time and checked around for a local independent and stumbled across Marshs as it was less than a mile from work. They were very professional and no pressure helped us find a carpet under budget in their clearance carpet. However the next day we changed our mind and went with a special order carpet that was nicer and appeared better quality than what we were getting at home Depot originally. Because we had already removed all the furniture the person helping us bumped us up to a better padding and they were able to come out that weekend still. The people that came were very friendly and did a amazing job. I can not tell where any of the seams are and they ended up working late into the day to make sure the job goy finished. My wife wife and I were so impressed we gave the workers a very large tip I'm the end they delivered what the promised and finished the job as promised which I can't say for home Depot. They ended up being cheaper and better quality despite home depots discounts and promotions. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to replace their carpet and always tell my friends that are looking to replace carpet or upgrade flooring. read more

Well, I am pretty disappointed. First of all I came here because of Yelp reviews. I need to re-do carpet in two rooms so I decided to visit the showroom. There was a salesperson with a couple at the desk, so perhaps there was nobody else there, but I was not greeted when I came in, and nobody spoke to me the 5 minutes I was in the store. This is a purchase people need help with because it can be overwhelming. I left almost out of embarrassment that I was not worthy enough to help. I have bought carpet before so I understand it is expensive, so it is a bummer not to be helped. I am in sales, and I understand the guest experience. If you are busy, you still want to make contact, or say hello. If someone came to your house would you at the very least greet them? You better believe it. To build your brand you must build relationships with your consumer. Hope this review help them to get better. read more

I price shopped for two weeks and they came in the lowest. The rep I met with was straightforward and met our needs in 15 minutes. The installation took just over an hour, they were exactly on time, and they were completely self-sufficient. We had a great experience re-flooring our 2300 sq ft home with Marsh's Carpet! We spent a few weeks agonizing over what types of flooring, and hunting around different businesses. We went to a few big name companies, and were frustrated with the sales techniques we experienced there. We were going down the row of businesses and on a whim decided to drop into Marsh's just before giving up, and we're so glad we did! MIKE IS A GEM. He made our entire experience with Marsh's go more smoothly than I thought possible. After talking to him, I thought he might be the owner, because he takes care of that shop like it is his own. No, he doesn't own it, but he's been there for a long time, and will take good care of you. He helped us figure out that Vinyl Plank flooring in the majority of our house would be a great choice, since we have 4 boys and a swimming pool. The rest of the house is carpet. A year later, our vinyl plank has taken a beating from these kids and still shines. No buckling in spite of the tremendous amounts of water the kids manage to spill for one reason or another. The prices were very competetive, and the installers got in and did the job just as promised. Now, the icing on the cake. I had picked some Vinyl tiles to put in the bathrooms, and I found a really unique one that I loved. Mike called to let me know it was backordered and not available for a few more months. We wanted to move in, and I really wanted all the flooring done prior to move-in (remember the bit about having 4 boys? Yeah, we wanted this puppy done before we moved in!). I was disappointed, but came down and picked out a new one, but wasn't very excited about it. Later on that day, Mike called... he had spent all morning hunting down a similar product, and managed to acquire for me something that was nearly identical, and happened to be an even higher quality tile than I had chosen! I love that he took the time to do that, and has enough contacts in the business that he was able to do so. I think of him fondly when I'm mopping up the bathroom floors after my 2-year old twins take a bath. We had an issue or two with install, and it was taken care of to our satisfaction immediately. Excellent experience with Marsh's! We planned to install new laminate and carpet throughout our entire house 2900 sq. foot house. We visited a few stores and talked to some professionals, but everyone I talked to seemed like a typical salesperson and lacked the detailed product information I was looking for. It wasn't until we visited Mash's and met Mike that I knew I was in the right place. Mike did a great job giving me the detailed behind the scenes information I was looking for about different laminates and carpets. I bought Expo Flooring Laminate from Marsh's, and ONE spilled glass of water made the floor buckle. Keep in mind that I wiped the spill up within 5 minutes. I've had laminate before and Pergo doesn't do that. I hired my own guy to do the installation and he said that with cheaper brands, it's buyer beware. He said that there are a few good cheap brands, but you have to know what you are doing when it comes to price. My advice to Marsh's carpets is to do a better job of screening your products. My advice to buyers is to bring home multiple samples and dunk the different samples in water for 5 minutes and come back a day later to test the durability. Repeat 2 or 3 times and see if the floor you are going to pay thousands for will buckle. On a positive note, the people at Marsh's were nice. read more

I went to Marsh's on the recommendation of someone else who had recently been very pleased with their work. Mike in the showroom helped me pick samples of the flooring I wanted after asking me questions about my house- i.e. pets, style of home, etc. He also chose a carpet for me to replace 15 year old carpet in the bedroooms. There were so many styles of carpet I had no idea where to start with the choices! I am over an hour from their business and he came out within the week to measure for the carpet and luxury vinyl tile that I had decided on. The installation began about two weeks after my initial visit. It took almost three days. The two installers, Flo and Jose, were excellent; they helped move heavy furniture that I had left in place and gave me suggestions about how to move it . They also lent me their moving pads to use - best invention ever!! The installation was meticulous- the corners and cuts are beautiful as is the new baseboard. The carpet and padding are wonderful. They took the old carpet, padding and baseboard out and demolished tile in the entry. Each day, they took any old material they had removed with them. He helped us pick carpet for the stairs and laminate for our rooms. He was also able to save us a few hundred dollars by finding a roll of carpet remnant in the back that we now love. When the team arrived they moved quick and removed the old carpet and baseboards. Pablo and Jose kept things clean and professional even through the rain. I moved to Sacramento on October 30th. Before my move, my daughter was working with Kenny at Marsh's Carpet, who was great in assisting her to choose flooring and carpeting for my new home. A deposit was made. When it came time to pay the balance, I discovered that my credit card was stolen en route from my previous home in another state. When Kenny called to say the credit card was declined, I called immediately and informed him of the stolen card and that as soon as I received my new card, I would call to pay my balance. He kindly understood this. The credit card company told me that it should arrive the next Tuesday. When it didn't arrive, I called Kenny again to update him. He told me that it was okay, to call when I received the card. In the meantime, Jeff, the owner, called my daughter and told her that if we did not pay, it would mean placing a lien on my new home. My new card arrived on Friday. The moving van arrived on Saturday, but in all of the chaos, we called and paid the balance in full. When I called Jeff to talk to him about his call to my daughter, he told me that it was "company policy"...I guess, to threaten to place liens on properties rather than call and inquire the status of the card? It would have gone a long way to simply apologize for the miscommunication between him and his employee. Had he done so, it would have made things right with a customer, who would have happily refer others to Marsh's. read more

This has been the worst purchase of my life. I went here 2 yrs ago and bought carpet and laminate for my entire house. I'm late striking thus review but I'm new to yelp. I thought the salesman seemed very honest and it was gonna be cheaper then Lowe's. So I felt good about this purchase. I bought high end mid grade carpet. Not even a yr later it was lifting everywhere and u can see the seems all down the hallway. They just cut pieces to fit instead of using a solid piece. It's like this all over the upstairs. On top of that the carpet is the worst quality I gave ever had. My apartments were better then this!! Next my wonderful laminate. .. it had a 20 yr warranty. I wanted it in the kitchen so the sales man showed me the high quality one yo get that was water resistant to water and pets. I made sure to ask that and he assured me that it was. Not a month after the floors were in they were lifting and bobbling all over the place. Took 2 months for them to come look only fir them to void out my warranty for testing positive for dog urine. We'll of course it did it was lifting all over the place and it the was a accident it would seep down. If it was water resistant like he said that shouldn't have happened. The salesman told me he had never seen this happen and testing my wood and said it starts to lift and bobbles in less then 30min. Well you don't always see a accident in 30 min now do u?! So how is this water resistant and good for kitchens. It was also doing the same under my couches. So how could any liquid get under there either?? To say the least I spent over 5 grand on crap flooring that needs to be replaced and this place screwed me! I was a first time home buyer and I felt totally robbed!! Oh wait! That's right they did that too! My brand new shower head went missing during install! Course I couldn't prove it and they denied it!
