Very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly staff in the showroom. They will come to your house with samples, or you can visit the showroom. The last time we needed carpet we stopped at the showroom and picked out our favorites and took samples home to see what looked best. It worked out great. Expert flawless professional installation. They were careful in moving our furniture and cleaned up afterwards like they were never there. Recently I scratched the laminate while moving a piece of furniture and just felt terrible. Let's start by saying that Spike at Abbey flooring provides unmatched service. I went into Abbey and met Spike on a Monday afternoon about 4:00PM. I explained that we were looking for two rooms of flooring for my 87 year old mother. He had some laminate in stock that mom liked. Spike offered to come by the house at 5:00PM (after he got off work) to measure the rooms. Spike arrived about 5:10 and took the measurements. He contacted me the next day with a very reasonable estimate. I asked him when we could get it installed. Spike checked and responded December 2 (two weeks out). I responded: Spike we chose an in stock product hoping to get this installed quickly. Spike answered that everyone wanted to get installed before Thanksgiving. I reminded him that we were having a problem with mom tripping on the damaged floor, that I didn't care about Thanksgiving but I do care about the possibility of mom falling. Spike responded that he hadn't realized that there was the tripping issue and asked if he could call me back later. Spike called about five minutes later. "I spoke with my installers. Is tomorrow morning at 8:00 ok for you? WOW! I've never received better or more caring service than this! The installers arrived the next morning at approximately 7:45. They did a fantastic job. Everything looks perfect. Additionally, the installers were clean, polite, professional, and left the work area cleaner than they found it. As time went on the laminate floor boards separated. I called Spike to get an estimate for repair and he had his guy come out within days and replace the flooring without charge. TL;DR: Abbey flooring is professional, responsive, and does good work. Prices are comparable to competitors. For those interested in my experience with Abbey flooring, I'll try to describe the entire process that we went through to replace our floors. The background: we live in a ~1900 square foot, 2-story house that was built in late 2015. We had carpets for most of the flooring; everywhere except for the kitchen, bathrooms, entryway, and laundry room. We were initially thinking of replacing the flooring everywhere except for the bedrooms with new tile. We requested quotes from several contractors. Two were very pushy, one was scheduled to do a set of measurements and didn't show up, and another was very reasonably professional. That one came and made measurements of the flooring dimensions and gave us a quote a few day later. We were shocked. The quote came out to be 24k to install tile over 877 square feet (~$28/square foot)! That made us reassess. Since the cost of tile installation was too much, so we started considering other surfaces. We wanted a hard surface, so we started looking at laminate. We again contacted several constractors and asked for ballpark quotes for only replacing our downstairs carpet, which I measured to be ~415 square feet. Spike from Abbey flooring was the only contractor who took my request a face value and gave me a ballpark quote without pushing for an appointment with a flooring measurement. It was immediately clear that Abbey Flooring was much more professional than the competition. The ballpark quote I recieved from Abbey Flooring was $2200 for basic installation and normal prep (not including the laminate, baseboards, or moisture barrier). The quotes I received from others were $1800 for installation, $4000-4500 if I bought the laminate from that contractor, and 3 refused to give a ballpark quote. Since, Abbey flooring was much more professional than the others we proceeded with Abbey flooring. Next, Spike scheduled a visit to confirm my measurements and make an formal quote. Spike arrived on time, was quick, and answered the couple of questions we had. The quote we got was very similar to the initial ballpark quote at $2270 for installation, carpet removal, new baseboards, and a moisture barrier. We got the laminate from Costco. The specifics for the laminate are: 25 boxes of Mohawk Home Seaton Oak Waterproof Laminate 12mm Thick Plank With 2 mm Attached Pad Included (17.18 square foot box) for $~1200 and 5 box of Mohawk Home Seaton Oak Floor Multifunctional Molding (84.6 in/box). Abbey flooring was very accommodating. We had the reschedule the install 3 times! The first two times the shipping company (XPO logistics), didn't deliver the laminate after they had set-up a 5 hour delivery window (that required me to be at home). Sam from Abbey flooring did the installation and arrived at the scheduled time and did the install quickly. It only took around 5-6 hours. A few days after the install we noticed one of the planks was squeaky and we let Spike know. Spike immediately scheduled a time to come and fix that plank. My husband and I have been wanting to rip off the carpet in our house and replace everything with vinyl flooring to match the rest of the house. We've done extensive research to find what our builders used. It was such a challenge finding the exact match as the leftover box didn't have the complete information. We've went everywhere and contacted a few flooring companies BUT Abbey Flooring was the only one who actually helped us through the process every step of the way. Spike was so helpful since we first stepped into their showroom. He was very friendly and very informative since day one. He dug deep into their system to find the exact color/materials that we needed. Spike was very communicative and was always available to text or email whenever we had questions. I had a pleasant conversation with Spike to schedule the appointment for someone to come out and take measurements. I explained to him that I had other contractors coming out later to give estimates on other projects, so his estimator had to be finished by 12pm. He said it wouldn't take long and we settled on 11:30am. The day came and I got a voicemail at 11am from the person assigned to come out and take the measurements saying that she would not be coming at 11:30. She asked if we could reschedule for "after lunch." I'm not sure what time that is. But, I work and I moved my schedule around to make this work today. Once our issue was resolved, we were happy with the end result. Spike was very helpful in providing suggestions on what flooring to choose for our living room, dining room and master bath. We changed our 1st floor and fireplace. floor fireplace baseboard. We went to both box stores, liquidators for estimates. We ended up with this company because of the below reason. During planning, we were allowed to borrow 2'x3' size samples to put in the space. While we are at it, Spike came back with other fireplace tiles he thought might be helpful without even us asking about it! So great. We were able to see the how the material grain, board width works in proportion to the space, and how it reacts to the sunlight inside the space which makes a huge difference. No middleman, Spike although he doesn't do the installation he oversee the work to make sure things work out just the way you had communicated. Pretty straight forward. They know the right person do the job. If they mess up, he probably knows who to fix it. Clear but minimal communication. There was a time when I wanted to add something that was costly, they communicate to us clearly what can be done and what can't. Also there is no salesman feel to the showroom, everything is comfortable every time we walked in. We are glad we chose this company for below reason: During demo, we found under existing vapor barrier, there were moisture condensation; after a 5 minute talk on the phone with the installer and confirming the change of price, Spike shows up with a sealant. For the installers he is the best we have worked with in this house renovation experience, he is professional fast and courteous, and most important does beautiful work. They installed in a day, came back the next Monday to put the baseboard, and finish the floor they protected the floor when they have to finish the fireplace. The process is clean and organized. I can imagine them doing it in already moved it home without stressing over the family out. Overall they did it with minimal communication, showed on time if not earlier and good quality workmanship.
