I had carpet that had been pulled back for a foundation repair and needed it to be retretched and attached. Spike was phenominal at answering all my questions, providing a quote, coordinating the scheduled appointment where he even confirmed I was in contact with the person coming to do the work as I had a 3 hour drive that morning. Hugo, who came to complete the carpet repair, was fantastic! He reached out to confirm our meet up time, was on time, friendly, personable and professional. He answered all my questions and took his time to make sure the job was completed well. In addition, he made sure my base floor boards were glued back in place and helped with closet doors I had taken off for the repair. He went above and beyond what I expected where I didn't feel like a number. I had two smaller rooms and the master carpets stretched and tacked down. The cost was average of what I was quoted by others and was a great value for the work completed. After Hugo left Spike checked in to follow up. I am so impressed by the quality and communication provided from Abbey, something you don't see as often with many companies nowadays! I highly recommend Abbey and will call them for any future flooring. read more

We would highly recommend Abbey Flooring for your flooring needs. We recently had carpet installed in our family room and the experience was stress-free from start to finish. Going to the showroom Spike was very informative, but not pushy and answered all my questions. I took several samples home and after making our selection, Spike came out and measured our room and provided a quote by the end of the day. When the carpet came in he scheduled our date and Hugo and David arrived on time and did an excellent job in our installation. They are a great team and as other reviewers mentioned, they are very skilled in what they do. The cost was very fair and the communication and ease of doing business with Abby carpet and Spike was a pleasure. read more

We've been acquainted with Abbey Flooring and more specifically spike for over a decade. From carpet to tile he's taken care of two homes for us now... Spike is absolutely awesome to work with. He Never rushes you and presents different options and ALWAYS stays on top of the job from start to finish. There has never been any surprises in working with him. We contacted him recently to have our house carpeted. Abbey Flooring has a great selection and Spike helped guide us to a selection and after making our selection he let us take the sample book home to see if it fit with our color scheme. After that he came out and took the measurements and ordered our selected carpet.. The install went absolutely perfect. His installers, Hugo and David, were completely amazing. They moved all the large items for us and finished the job in one day! Five bedrooms was no easy feat. They put everything back. Spike checked in with us during the job just to see if we were happy with the progress! I can't say enough good things about Abbey Flooring, Spike and his installer crew... And as far as the price goes... we went to Home Depot and Lowes but honestly we could never get anyone's attention. read more

Dealing with water damage from a hot water leak was incredibly stressful so finding the right flooring company mattered a lot. I'm really glad I chose this team. Spike, the owner stood out right away with his great customer service very personable easy to talk to and responsive throughout the process. Installers Hugo and David were fantastic! Once they pulled up the damage, Flooring, they discovered the subfloor was uneven instead of cutting corners, they took the time to do it right. Sanding down old glue and adding leveling cement to ensure a solid foundation. They showed up on time every day we're respectful of my home and did their best to keep things clean by vacuuming, dust and debris as they worked. The job ended up taking longer than originally expected, but they kept me informed the entire time which I really appreciated. The customer service at Abbey Flooring was excellent from start to finish. Their prices were competitive. The salesman, Spike, and the installers Hugo, David and Carmello were skilled, helpful and efficient. Our new carpet and laminate look great. We also liked that we were able to meet the installers to ask specific questions to prepare the rooms before the job even started. They moved the heavy pieces for us without charge. Another vendor would have charged us. Spike improved on our design by extending the laminate to incorporate a high traffic area from the front door to the kitchen. Abbey Flooring of Elk Grove is the only place I shop for flooring. Abbey has done several laminate and carpet installs for us over the last 20 years. Very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly staff in the showroom. They will come to your house with samples, or you can visit the showroom. The last time we needed carpet we stopped at the showroom and picked out our favorites and took samples home to see what looked best. It worked out great. Expert flawless professional installation. They were careful in moving our furniture and cleaned up afterwards like they were never there. Recently I scratched the laminate while moving a piece of furniture and just felt terrible. I called Spike and explained what happened and in less than a half hour he was at the house and made the repair like it never happened. I will use Abbey Flooring of Elk Grove in the future, and I highly recommend them for any flooring needs. read more

I can't say enough good things about Abbey Flooring. My rep Spike from day one was helpful in educating me on the pro's and con's with LVP vs. Laminate which their competitors did not. When I researched further for myself, everything Spike told me was accurate and I was grateful that he saved me a big disappointment as this was 2500 sq feet of flooring. Spike helped coordinate timing of everything perfectly since this is a full house makeover. Once the installers came, they were always on time, polite, conscience and did an amazing job with both the laminate floors, baseboards and bathroom tile. We have worked with their competitors in the past and this was so much better experience. We could not be happier and I highly recommend them for your flooring and carpet needs. read more

Let's start by saying that Spike at Abbey flooring provides unmatched service. I went into Abbey and met Spike on a Monday afternoon about 4:00PM. I explained that we were looking for two rooms of flooring for my 87 year old mother. He had some laminate in stock that mom liked. Spike offered to come by the house at 5:00PM (after he got off work) to measure the rooms. Spike arrived about 5:10 and took the measurements. He contacted me the next day with a very reasonable estimate. I asked him when we could get it installed. Spike checked and responded December 2 (two weeks out). I responded: Spike we chose an in stock product hoping to get this installed quickly. Spike answered that everyone wanted to get installed before Thanksgiving. I reminded him that we were having a problem with mom tripping on the damaged floor, that I didn't care about Thanksgiving but I do care about the possibility of mom falling. Spike responded that he hadn't realized that there was the tripping issue and asked if he could call me back later. Spike called about five minutes later. "I spoke with my installers. Is tomorrow morning at 8:00 ok for you? WOW! I've never received better or more caring service than this! The installers arrived the next morning at approximately 7:45. They did a fantastic job. Everything looks perfect. Additionally, the installers were clean, polite, professional, and left the work area cleaner than they found it. We just had the old carpets replaced with new waterproof laminate flooring in our bedrooms. Everyone at this company was five star as was the installation. We chose a Mohawk brand with Spike's help and are delighted. The color is exactly what we wanted and it goes with the rest of the house. Sam, the installer, showed up on time or a little early, worked hard all day, did an excellent job, and was great to have in our home. We cannot recommend this company highly enough. They were above and beyond our expectations with a high level of professionalism. We really love our new floors! read more

TL;DR: Abbey flooring is professional, responsive, and does good work. Prices are comparable to competitors. For those interested in my experience with Abbey flooring, I'll try to describe the entire process that we went through to replace our floors. The background: we live in a ~1900 square foot, 2-story house that was built in late 2015. We had carpets for most of the flooring; everywhere except for the kitchen, bathrooms, entryway, and laundry room. We were initially thinking of replacing the flooring everywhere except for the bedrooms with new tile. We requested quotes from several contractors. Two were very pushy, one was scheduled to do a set of measurements and didn't show up, and another was very reasonably professional. That one came and made measurements of the flooring dimensions and gave us a quote a few day later. We were shocked. The quote came out to be 24k to install tile over 877 square feet (~$28/square foot)! That made us reassess. Since the cost of tile installation was too much, so we started considering other surfaces. We wanted a hard surface, so we started looking at laminate. We again contacted several constractors and asked for ballpark quotes for only replacing our downstairs carpet, which I measured to be ~415 square feet. Spike from Abbey flooring was the only contractor who took my request a face value and gave me a ballpark quote without pushing for an appointment with a flooring measurement. It was immediately clear that Abbey Flooring was much more professional than the competition. The ballpark quote I recieved from Abbey Flooring was $2200 for basic installation and normal prep (not including the laminate, baseboards, or moisture barrier). The quotes I received from others were $1800 for installation, $4000-4500 if I bought the laminate from that contractor, and 3 refused to give a ballpark quote. Since, Abbey flooring was much more professional than the others we proceeded with Abbey flooring. Next, Spike scheduled a visit to confirm my measurements and make an formal quote. Spike arrived on time, was quick, and answered the couple of questions we had. The quote we got was very similar to the initial ballpark quote at $2270 for installation, carpet removal, new baseboards, and a moisture barrier. We got the laminate from Costco. The specifics for the laminate are: 25 boxes of Mohawk Home Seaton Oak Waterproof Laminate 12mm Thick Plank With 2 mm Attached Pad Included (17.18 square foot box) for $~1200 and 5 box of Mohawk Home Seaton Oak Floor Multifunctional Molding (84.6 in/box). Abbey flooring was very accommodating. We had the reschedule the install 3 times! The first two times the shipping company (XPO logistics), didn't deliver the laminate after they had set-up a 5 hour delivery window (that required me to be at home). Sam from Abbey flooring did the installation and arrived at the scheduled time and did the install quickly. It only took around 5-6 hours. A few days after the install we noticed one of the planks was squeaky and we let Spike know. Spike immediately scheduled a time to come and fix that plank. The fix went great and we are very happy with the final results. Couldn't have higher regard for Abbey flooring. Please see the photos for before and after the installation. read more

Abbey Flooring did our entire downstairs in Nov 2019. Summer of 2020 I noticed floor damage in the bathroom. We diagnosed and repaired the problem. As time went on the laminate floor boards separated. I called Spike to get an estimate for repair and he had his guy come out within days and replace the flooring without charge. Any other company would have said this is "out of warranty". This is true customer service, satisfaction guarantee. I will be recommending Abbey Flooring to all my friends and family. We had a fantastic experience with Abbey Flooring. While our project was small (new carpet for a bedroom and a new 8x10 wool rug for another bedroom), it was important to us. Spike was quick to offer a quote and to come out to measure. We were particular about not wanting a seem which required going back and forth with the installers. The installers were also fantastic, on time, friendly and professional. They did great work and cleaned up well. read more

My husband and I have been wanting to rip off the carpet in our house and replace everything with vinyl flooring to match the rest of the house. We've done extensive research to find what our builders used. It was such a challenge finding the exact match as the leftover box didn't have the complete information. We've went everywhere and contacted a few flooring companies BUT Abbey Flooring was the only one who actually helped us through the process every step of the way. Spike was so helpful since we first stepped into their showroom. He was very friendly and very informative since day one. He dug deep into their system to find the exact color/materials that we needed. Spike was very communicative and was always available to text or email whenever we had questions. He was quick to give us a quote and wasn't pushy to hiring them to install the flooring for us (as we wanted to install it ourselves). Once the materials were ordered, it only took a week to arrive (coming from North Carolina) and he gave us the option to buy the underlayment through them. Again, wasn't pushy if we wanted to buy it from somewhere else, but we did end up buying the underlayment from them as well, as it was way cheaper than going to Lowe's or Home Depot. We are very satisfied doing a business with Spike and will definitely come back to Abbey Flooring for our next home projects! read more

I had a pleasant conversation with Spike to schedule the appointment for someone to come out and take measurements. I explained to him that I had other contractors coming out later to give estimates on other projects, so his estimator had to be finished by 12pm. He said it wouldn't take long and we settled on 11:30am. The day came and I got a voicemail at 11am from the person assigned to come out and take the measurements saying that she would not be coming at 11:30. She asked if we could reschedule for "after lunch." I'm not sure what time that is. But, I work and I moved my schedule around to make this work today. Based on this experience I will not be hiring this company. read more

We're in the process of another remodel in another part of our home. We needed to gather information on different types of flooring. We came here to look at our options and choices. Smaller place with LOTS of different types of flooring. They sell carpet, wood flooring, laminates, and tile. Ooooh! They also have window treatments, too!!! We looked at a lot of beautiful flooring! The gentleman who helped us gave us lots of information and educated us on all the fancy beautiful flooring!! He offered free in home estimates. We thanked him for the offer and told him we would get back to him. Our number one first move is to figure out what we want first before we get estimates. ( Which means visiting a few different stores/warehouses. ) Overall, beautiful stuff with knowledgeable staff. We were helped, educated without feeling pressured. The experience made us feel comfortable. Not like the big box stores trying to seal the deal of what they like or most popular. read more

The installation crew arrived on time and completed the job within a timely manner. Their workmanship was very nice especially the detailed moldings around our staircase and bathtub, shower, and bathroom cabinets. This is my 3rd time having Abbey install new flooring for me. Their price is reasonable but what makes them exceptional is lifelong service if there is issue with the floor they installed (so far i had no issues with previous installation), high quality installation service (no mess no dust upon completion), superb basic materials (they don't offer you ugly baseboards), and accommodating special requests which most big name companies ( ie: Costco & S&G) would deny.
