I can get my shampoo at Walmart or the grocery store. I can't get a throw rug just anywhere. PS the At Home Store has boat loads of throw rugs if that's what you're looking for. I was there to pick up an outfit for a wedding and needed everything from head to toe. With just a little prompt to give him a starting point, the salesperson assisting me narrowed the options, expertly paired colors and patterns, and created an enable that I am eager to wear. The shoe department was no less helpful in helping me land on the best look for the event. A stop in women's wear was no less worthwhile. My wife received excellent recommendations and service and she ended up with a dress perfect for the occasion. Von Maur prices are moderate to high, but the quality of their goods is in keeping with the cost. Things to know: * Von Maur is open an hour later than the Jordan Creek Town Center that it now anchors (west end of the mall). * Men's alterations on purchases are free. This particular Target has a typical, well stocked grocery area they have all the items that you could ever need. They have increased there ethnic food choices dramatically.They have high quality in fresh food, frozen food, and dry goods. They have a great beverage selection, including water. Health drinks and wine and alcohol. There prices are reasonable and usually lower than other stores. . I find that I can usually get in-and-out in a very timely manner.

I don't feel the drive-in or carnivals are a good idea. It seems to bring problems to the area that those of us who live in the Clive West Des Moines area don't need. Personally I feel it's more trouble than it's worth. Some businesses may benefit from the people it brings to the West side. Valley West Mall doesn't have the quality of a food court that Merle Hay Mall does... Though foodie traffic would probably go a long way in bringing this mall back.
