I was walking on Bayview Avenue and I stumbled across this great store and as I walked around…read moreloving everything I called my sister and we both went on a little shopping spree! Their clothes are so nice and they have great colours for tops, blouses, shorts, summer dresses and pants. I ended up with 4 items my first time around and I also bought a summer dress and I rarely , if ever wear a dress! My sister ended up buying 4 items as well and when we went back 2 weeks later and we got more stuff! Her summer selection is great, her prices are very reasonable and we can't wait to go and buy more items. The women who runs the store is so sweet and helpful and that's another reason we enjoy shopping here so often. it's our new go-to- favourite store!!

Wow did I have a terrible experience in this store. Fari if that is her name. I was told was…read morethe manager. Then heard she was the owner. I guess it depends what your complaint is. I walked in one Saturday to peek around. Not somewhere I have shopped before but decided to check it out. I saw a sweater I liked and wanted the small. My right size. It was in the window. The woman that was helping me kept giving me the large to try. I kept saying over and over that I did not want to try it just purchase the small and was waiting around for them to get it out of the window. That's when Fari came into the picture. I have never met such a rude arrogant woman She was of no help what so ever as a matter of fact we got into an argument over a simple purchase of a sweater in the window. When I asked for her business card she told me to leave the store. It was definitely not worth the horrible experience for a simple top. Anyway I left and so did a few other customers after seeing what went on. I messaged Nicola who I thought might have been the owner. That was a waste of time. Anyway if you want to be treated properly there is a location on Yonge street it's a franchise so different owners etc. was a MUST better experience.

I REALLY like this store. Then again, I'm kind of a snob for clothing. The only thing I wish they'd…read morehave, is more items NOT made in China. Nevertheless, you can find gorgeous Smythe coats and jackets here (also found at Holt Renfrew) which are made in Canada, as well as other beautiful pieces in simple cuts and pretty colours. I find them a slight bit pushy and overeager to sell... although they backed off once they realized I was not responding to their cooing about how perfect the items looked on me. You can also find some wonderful cashmere in here, but I prefer buying cashmere scarves from White & Warren online (best quality cashmere for the price, I have ever found, even compared to the uber expensive Cashmere Shop in super pricey Yorkville), and I prefer buying my cashmere sweaters secondhand ... because they're expensive.

The products were nice enough, but overpriced in my opinion.  But the main problem was the service! After not even being greeted or assisted in any way for several minutes (and it's not a large shop - they could see me, but chose to ignore me and to keep conversing between them).  When I finally asked a question about sizing in a top, I was very brusquely brushed off. This happened again, until one of the employees suggested a different top (that was about 3x the price).  When I made a comment about it being out of my price range, she looked me up and down and condescendingly told me that maybe the items were not my style. (Yes, I was wearing yoga pants and a sweater - I don't dress up for walking around).  I told her that I found her comment extremely rude, and walked out. I can accept a higher price for something if the service is great.  But people that rude do not deserve anyone's business.

Sales staff are harried on Boxing Day. I have been one, and my kids are similar in age to the clerks I encountered today, thus it took a SERIES OF UNABASHED INSULTS to elicit this negative review. I apologize that I can't reproduce the literal lip-curling sneer with which the redhead said (and I am NOT kidding) "Are you here to BUY something? Or..." and "So you're done looking, then?" I was there about fifteen minutes, because (it being a BOGO sale) I could not find a second garment I wanted. I tried on two sets of items, and while in the change room with the last batch, heard the blond, and slightly older woman say "Make sure it doesn't smell before you put it back on the floor." I cracked the curtain to ascertain it was the blouse I'd tried the brunette held up to her face, and then decided to post this review. NOTE to YOKA: I am not deaf, stupid, dirty, or a thief. They're smart busniess people they know what's going to fit/look good, sometimes before I've even tried something on. They always have great suggestions, they're not hard sell and they have their own tailor off site. The owner is the nicest woman who really knows her stuff (she's the stores buyer I believe) and the clothing they have here come from all over the world, so the likelihood of you showing up somewhere in the same outfit as someone else is next to impossible. The quality of the clothes is exceptional, the prices are reasonable if you're looking for pieces that will stand the test of time. I've purchased everything from shoes, to jewellery, casual sweaters and T shirts to dresses I've worn to film premiers. The also have amazing sales and mens clothes. I've been shopping here since I was 19 and broke as a joke. At this point the majority of my closet was purchased at this store... and everyone I know wants to borrow something :)

But gee I don't really find anything that I want to try on remotely... and I did not even look at their prices. Personally I find that the clothings looks much better on their website in the photos than when I actually see the real thing! The housewares sections are interesting as they have nice things for the kitchen maybe some of my friends would have like some of those for house warming gift.

We have pored over every Anthro catalogue and studied the website with the sad knowledge that only rare cross-border voyages make shopping there possible. Admittedly, Anthropologie does ship to Canada but the costs are stunningly high. None of that matters now because at last we have an Anthropologie to call our very own! On my first visit to the brand new store, I was very happy to see that it was just as beautiful as the American stores (merchandise and shop front both). I did overhear some loud person proclaim, "Everything in here is waaay too Kate Hudson-y." I know what they mean - lots of gentle hippie florals and soft fabrics. I spent about half an hour just browsing the hooks and knobs section. Then I made the tour of the rest of the very spacious store and loaded myself up with clothes to try on in the well designed change rooms. It was agonizing to narrow my rack full of possibilities down to two perfect, classic, comfortable dresses that I am very excited to wear. For me, shopping at Anthropologie is a special treat. The clothing is always quite pricey but the treasures I find there are unusual and unforgettable. PS: A downtown shop is planned for Yorkville, opening in July.
