Last time I was here I bought a warm puffer jacket which I haven't gotten to use yet but was such a good deal on the clearance racks. This time I was looking for a one-piece bathing suit but they didn't have much variety. It was fun to look at all the toys and treats they have for pets. I love this Marshall's! They have a lot of Hello Kitty stuff and lots of new pretty dresses for the summer! Everyone who knows me knows that I'm a crazy Hello Kitty fan. 4 Marshall's, 5 days. Started my shopping adventure here. The best selection, easy parking. The checkout line here is always LONG even if folks are friendly. Harder to find someone on the floor to help. I found a sweater I loved that had three colors - but only 1 was in my size at that store. That led me to go later in the week to Carmel Mountain Plaza (the worst), and La Jolla Village Square and Mira Mesa, each of which I'll review separately! read more

This Marshall location does not disappoint. Out of all the Marshalls, Ive been able to always find something good that looks amazing. All the other Marshalls look ghetto and thriftef clothes with lacking styles and just mainly some older women clothing that looked like it was from a decade ago. I guess this location gets the better pick. Probably because it's in the nicer location, so maybe that's it. But anyway, this one definitely has cuter options and mostly focuses on women's fashion and beauty. read more

This store is well stocked, clean and new seasonal items are always being presented. You can find discounted prices on many items and I guarantee you will walk away with something that wasn't initially on your shopping list. I always do! The location of this store is in a shopping center with restaurant options such as Panera, Carls Jr, and across the street Panda Express. I have been shopping at Marshalls Solana Beach for 30 years. It has been fun, fruitful and overall, has great customer service. However, the restrooms are horrible- smelly, dirty, and often water all over the floor. A couple of months ago, I complained to a staff member who has been employed there as long as I have been shopping there. She replied, " Well, we clean it once a day". With the many hundreds of shoppers who frequent the store daily, once a day is not close to enough. Last weekend, I was shopping there with my sister, who came into the handicap stall with me, thankfully. Yes, I am handicapped and use a walker. There was an abundance of water all over the floor, but I still needed to use the toilet. In the process of sitting down, my feet slipped out from under me, I fell, hit my head on the wet floor, and basically could not get up without help, because the flooded floor prevented me from getting any traction. One week later, I still have a knot on my head, and am at the point where I don't want to shop there. I am not the litigious type, however, I think it is inexcusable for your company to not take responsibility for the problem, and service your restrooms several times a day, as needed. I will also be calling TJMaxx headquarters on Monday. read more

The staff are friendly and diligent at marking down and labeling the items... All departments are neatly organized and payed out. I didn't get the feeling of being cramped at all. You won't find a better store for value than Marshalls in Solana Beach! Let's set aside value, the store is impeccably maintained, AND there's actually personal customer service. Ask a question and you will get an answer by someone who knows the stock! There are so many long term managers/employees that it's nice to see the same faces and connect with someone other than just another face. There is a sense of pride in the work they do and the way things are presented. The merchandise is constantly being moved around so that nothing gets "stale" looking! While I love shopping at the majors, I also like finding great values in stores such as, The Rack, Off Fifth.... and so on. However, after shopping at the Solana Beach Marshalls store (La Jolla is up there too) it's hard to go back to any of the others where I find myself having to pick through a lot of "junk" to find the real values! The Solana Beach Marshalls saves you the trouble! The great values are up front and center and their high end brands are kept separate for those shoppers who are looking for those name brands and they have a ton of them! Only thing is, they sell a tremendous amount of merchandise so if you don't shop often you are SOL! Best part is, if you see it, buy it - returns are easy with no questions asked, just follow the time guidelines and bring your receipt with tags and "poof" you'll get your money/credit back! read more

I had the worst experience at this Marshalls today. We were popping in to get a few items and went to the dressing room. The lady at the dressing room was one of the most condescending rudest interactions I've ever had by a service staff. My fiance was trying on clothes and went to return a few items because only 10 are allowed in the room at a time. The lady working the counter started yelling at him for returning the items he did not want to the "go back rack". Her tone of voice and the way she spoke to him made everyone in the area uncomfortable. He then later was looking for one of his items on the "over 10" rack and said to me, "I don't know where it went it was right there" talking to me looking for the item. She interjected and said "have you never been to a Marshall's?!" Sarcastically. Then proceeded to tell us how it was our fault for putting our items on the rack that said "10 items at a time please" telling us that it was the go back rack. Not only were we all extremely uncomfortable but it put a horrible taste in our mouths for the store. I hope that you address this incident with the staff member and make it right because it was highly inappropriate. I do have a photo of the women if you would like to reach out for more information but will not post it here out of consideration. Went in to pick up a couple dresses and household items. Went to the fitting room and saw the fitting room attendant so I waited a minute to be greeted and have her check my items to go in. She never did. Just continued moving clothes around on the rack. So I went into the fitting room as I wasn't being acknowledged and I watched another person do the same thing. She then proceeds to wait until I went into the room to walk over and make a comment out loud about me seeing her and just going in without getting a ticket. So I proceed to walk back out and show her the 6 items I had brought in with me and apologized for not getting a ticket but that she wasn't acknowledging me. She then proceeds to say well you saw me there with a total attitude. All she had to do was say I'll be right with you and I would have gladly waited. But she didn't acknowledge any of the customers that were coming up. Older lady with really dark eyebrows, didn't get her name. Was no pissed off at how she came at me that I had to walk away so I didn't go off on her. I worked retail for almost 20 years. You don't act that way towards customers. Everyone else at this store was pleasant but as long as she's working there I won't be back. read more

Someone recently told me that this is the highest grossing Marshals in San Diego, and I believe it. Usually there is a line, unless you're shopping at a strange time (and I often do, LOL). But they do a good job of getting the line moving fast, to their credit. I've found some great deals here over the years. I don't know if they get better merchandise, more merchandise, or just merchandise geared toward me. I recently got a great $124.00 Kipling backpack for $26.00. Nothing wrong with it, and it's really cute. You just never know what you're going to find. Parking can be a little bit of a challenge, since it's so busy. And spots are a little on the small side. So park down a little farther, toward Panera, and you'll have plenty of room. And you can go get a cinnamon roll. read more

Upon walking in, this Marshalls had a small shelf of designer handbags including: Chloe, Celine, Balenciaga, Fendi... Wow! Some were even marked down on clearance. They carry a selection of a few nice cosmetics brands here like Anastasia Beverly Hills, Becca Cosmetics, Mac. For the women's clothing section they even have Vince. and Theory. This is a very nice Marshall's but the quality has gone way down recently. It used to have three nicest selection of shoes and clothes. Also had a very nice cosmetics, handbag and home goods area. Now it feels like a lower end Ross. I am not sure why this store has changed so much, but other stores are nicer. It also takes a long time to check out. Experience: - Walking in with no greeting, I came in looking for a specific brand that this location previously carried. I requested for help from one of the associates (middle aged woman with a brown ponytail wearing a black hoodie). After asking if they had this brand in stock, she responded, "No." in a condescending manner and walked away to continue putting away the men's clothes from the rolling rack. Eventually, while trying to shrug off her negativity by continuing to stroll around the store, I've found that the store cleanliness was so appalling that I had to leave. Always loved Marshalls. However after years of purchasing clothing and household items I had to return a mirror and had to take store credit - and that after pleading my case!!! I purchased a $20 mirror which literally fell apart on the wall after hanging less than 5 minutes!! Seriously! I even paid someone to hang it. When I returned they said they don't usually take back an item after it's been hung. I said I understand, but I wasn't returning because I decided I didn't like it, but that IT DID NOT FULFILL ITS PURPOSE. The quality was so poor the attachments to hang fell away from cardboard backing and when the mirror fell on my dining table I was lucky my table wasn't damaged or that the glass didn't shatter. Overall, I've liked Marshalls but now I know if I had to return something I'm going to be aware especially since not allowed to try on clothing in dressing rooms. read more

I love shopping at Marshall's. This location has descent stuff. I didn't find much high end makeup but I did pick up a MAC purple eyeliner for $12.99, a Someday Justin Bieber perfume for $7.99. My daughter loved the scent too, and a toy that was $7.99! Great deals. I try to find Marshall's or TJ Maxx in any city I'm in. I would drive far just to check out deals but I like the location in Midway area. I was a happy camper. The store was organized and it was easy to find stuff. So many high end items for an affordable price. I'd definitely come back if I am in this area. I'm hoping I can score on a Mark Jacobs eye shadow palette at one of the stores. It is the biggest one , The one in clairemont is small and you can tell their prices are not as the best in solana beach. Also the rules in clairemont/ Genesee for hair products your not allowed to return and no makeup products are allowed to be returned. BUT here at the Marshalls in solana beach you can return the products if they have been used or caused you an allergic reaction or whatever your reason is to return. I'm in love with the marshalls in solana beach , ive been going here and even driving the 20 to 30 mins! Worth my drive they get items shipped in every day except weekends. Of course if your there to return don't be disappointed if you end up buying something from their aisles while waiting LOL. read more

I had spent over $300 at this store in the prior month. I had some returns (about $20 worth) and they rejected a $4 return that I didn't have the receipt for. As a result, I returned $125 worth of some of the purchases I had made that I would have kept if not for this negative experience. This return that was rejected was processed by the manager. She made it such an elaborate, time consuming, and unpleasant ordeal. I think it is the ultimate example of Pennywise pound foolish and I am less likely to shop at this particular Marshall's. I love Marshall's overall and am going to their other stores more frequently now. read more

I love this Marshalls, especially now, after a short remodel period, they added whole new large shoe section and a new dressing room. So many great finds and exciting brands to choose from like Kate Spade, MK, Coach, Calvin Klein and so on... at discounted prices! Marshalls is my to go shop before summer hits for flip flops and summer sandals. When winter is around the corner, there are so many boots and booties to choose from. I always browse the personal care section for lotions, scrubs and soaps. This store has pretty much everything for every room in your house and your closet! read more

I love coming into Marshalls for so many reasons. Every shopping trip is an experience. The store is packed with everything from designer shoes to the most gaudy home decorations. The range in this store is over the top, you can find anything that you want as long as you are not looking for anything in particular. Seriously, you must have an open mind to fully experience shopping here. My recommendation is not to bring shopping friends with you, this is a store that is best tackled alone. The treasures are in the store, but you will have to seek them out. If you bring a friend they may get to the hidden treasure before you and snatch it up leaving scraps for you. Really the only reason to bring a friend is that some of the styles are so over the top that you may need a second opinion. You know, when you have to ask yourself, "Does the patchwork zebra plaid skirt look okay with gold bling on it?" Really, open your eyes, it is not appropriate for any use. If you really must get your friend's approval then the item is probably not for you. I bought one of my favorite little skirts there years ago, this skirt was a magic skirt, the kind that you can rock with anything. I wanted to wear that skirt all of the time, it lengthened my legs and shrunk my hips at the same time. This wardrobe standout was so great that I would love to buy 10 of them and wear them every day. Therein lies the problem with Marshalls. You may score on overstocked clothes or last season's fashion, but supply is limited. If you see a treasure then you better snatch it up, it is a first come-first served system and there is no shoving allowed. read more

I work around the corner, so I visit this location OFTEN. Of all the Marshalls I've been to, I'd say this is the cleanest, most organized and friendliest (I often get greeted when I walk in, which I don't remember from many other locations). Selection is hit or miss, but I think that's expected. I feel like the "personal beauty" section in the front keeps growing, there's always makeup and hair supplies etc. Shoe section is pretty decent. Women's/"Junior" section has a pretty decent selection too. Come looking for a new sweater, leave with a new jacket and unicorn band aids you grabbed in the line on the way out. read more

Plenty of Chargers memorabilia and outfits to wear. Only thing was that nothing caught my eye, and if it did, it was a size too large.
