If they turn the front aisle vertical to the cashiers the problems could be eliminated and the workers could be used wiser. Costco is usually a masterclass in logistics, so this was disappointing. With better flow or clearer lane management, the same staff could be helping customers check out faster rather than acting as traffic controllers. Costco is still good value but the checkout experience here takes away from what should be a smooth, high-volume operation.
