There was such a language barrier with my son's stylist he couldn't understand what she was saying. My son said her three inch finger nails hurt and when we left he had a visible scratch on his face. I showed my stylist pictures so she understood what I expected. My layers didn't make sense and are blunt, cut straight across, no blending. They charge extra to dry and style! How are we supposed to know how it looks? My stylist was very insecure and did not seem confident in cutting my hair. Scary. I saw in other reviews people mentioned rude stylists. I did notice one stylist talking very loudly and just not being professional. In general the vibes were terrible. Go somewhere else and save yourself the heartache. I've never had a bad haircut at Platinum & Co. and I'll be going back. I only tried a new place because my stylist left there.

This is a wider availability JcPenny's that I've been to, and it is a little unorganized, great…read moresales, but very understaffed. The unorganization does not does not just include the clothes being everywhere (I'll get to that later), the workers aren't given official work clothes, they're just told to wear red, so if you come in with red be prepared to be bombarded with questions! Ok so the clothes are mostly on sale so they're everywhere and racks upon racks of random clothes everywhere. This is everywhere in the store so beware. The sales at this store are phenomenal and really are great. They have deals on name brand such as Nike and others. If you're shopping for girl clothes they will have amazing sales and you should head there as soon as possible. They are seriously understaffed and the lines just get longer and longer, and with the great sales they have to be more people!

The Winged Lion is on the corner of Poyntz and 3rd and is a quaint home decor shop that opened last…read moreAugust. I had seen it while driving by but never stopped in until today after I had lunch at Bourbon & Baker. The first thing I noticed was a nice collection of Michael Aram's line! I am a big fan of Aram and had no idea I could find his pieces here in MHK. I found a new catch-all in the hearts line that goes with some of my picture frames and some non-Aram glass appetizer dishes shaped like oysters. The prices were very reasonable. I was impressed to find an Aram mezzuzzah here - that was pleasantly surprising. There are linens, dishware, candles, decor, and other neat things to explore here. Check it out and support this local business!

This shop offered your basic mainstays for any boutique of its kind: decorative napkins and napkin rings, candles, lotions, throw pillows, and the like. However, my favorite part of the shop was tucked in the back. I first spotted the small shelf with spices and olive oils, and then was pleasantly surprised to see a table devoted solely to displaying salts from the Beautiful Briny Sea company, an artisan salt company based out of Atlanta. I first discovered these salts while vacationing in Denver and hadn't seen them since, so I was thrilled to see such a grand display (including samples!) The shop owner noted that he planned to expand this particular section of the shop, so I'll be looking forward to that.
