The young lady that waited on us was very helpful and informative. She fetched different pairs of…read moreshoes and tried to help us. I think she was the only person working in the store and at times it got pretty busy. I thought the prices were high on merchandise. The shoes on sale were a good price and they did have quite a few sale shoes. The problem I ran into is they had a very limited supply of larger 4E (extrawide) shoes. So I think they need to amp their selection up in these shoes!

REAL customer services still exists in our country, and it's in Manhattan, Kansas! Yes - in middle…read moreAmerica, there is a place you can go for an amazing shoe-fitting experience and walk out with a pair of shoes so comfortable, you're sure they were custom made on the spot just for you! This place reminds me of the old Family Shoe Store in downtown Williston, ND, where I grew up. Mom and dad would take us down once a year for new school shoes, we would be measured, talked to and fitted by the owners. You felt like you were with family. That is exactly how Brown's Shoe Fit feels. It's many decades since I was at Family Shoe...walking into Brown's feels like walking home. The staff at Brown's Shoe Fit is knowledgeable and friendly. Cory and Kennedy are tops! They are not medically trained, yet know so much about what your body SHOULD feel like in a pair of decent shoes. They will spend all day if that's what it takes to help you find the one that is your perfect fit. Or maybe you will walk two or three - after all seasons change! Try it out - here's what you would experience: * a warm greeting * immediate interaction and inquiry to accommodate your needs * non-pushy salespeople * time to browse until your heart's content * personalized service - they'll measure your foot, listen for any red flags (foot, back, neck issues), and then spend as much time as it takes to find your perfect shoe If you've never been to Brown's, the only regret in life you'll have to live with is that you never took the time to stop in. You don't want to live with that, do you? Now go out and get that perfect shoe! P.S. I'm kind of a Birkenstock freak - so I just can't help constantly checking out what's new!!

On Saturday, April 4, I wanted to purchase a pair of jeans. I found the pair that I wanted to…read morepurchase. Ironically, there were two price signs for the same jeans. One sign had the jeans listed at $64.99 and the other sign had the same jeans listed at $54.99, with no differences in the signs except the price. When I asked at the customer service desk which price I would receive, the employee rang up the jeans at the $64 pair. I showed him the photo of the tags next to each other. His comment was that the jeans might be different since one pair was lighter. I enlarged the screen to help him see that the jeans under that $54 sign were a different model. He contacted his supervisor who also commented that it was an error and someone had not removed the sign. She also commented that she was going back to remove the $54.00 sign. They did not offer to sell me the jeans at the lower cost, (so much for their price match, huh). Instead, they were very solid in not selling the jeans at the reduced cost. What I did not disclose to them was I had two t-shirts at $23 each, plus another item for $120.00, and a pair of shoes for $80.00 that was also an intention to purchase. Essentially, because they were adamant about not reducing the jeans to $10 each for a $20 reduction of my cost, they lost a $330 sale, and a desire for me to never shop in their store again.

The staff here (service) are beyond rude at times. If you return something with no receipt for…read morestore credit you only get about 50% of the price back - so weird and unfair. From reading other reviews though it seems poor management is to blame and probably lack of customer service training for staff. Many people have wirtten that it is a horrible store to work in (see google reviews). In any case we will no longer shop in a store that does not do returns that refund the total purchase price (the only store I know that does this is Harbor Freight with their "restocking" fee). They do have a decent selection, this being small town Manhattan KS. Value is ok. I also felt they treated us differently because we do not look like your average midwestern Kansas red neck type people.
