On Saturday, April 4, I wanted to purchase a pair of jeans. I found the pair that I wanted to…read morepurchase. Ironically, there were two price signs for the same jeans. One sign had the jeans listed at $64.99 and the other sign had the same jeans listed at $54.99, with no differences in the signs except the price. When I asked at the customer service desk which price I would receive, the employee rang up the jeans at the $64 pair. I showed him the photo of the tags next to each other. His comment was that the jeans might be different since one pair was lighter. I enlarged the screen to help him see that the jeans under that $54 sign were a different model. He contacted his supervisor who also commented that it was an error and someone had not removed the sign. She also commented that she was going back to remove the $54.00 sign. They did not offer to sell me the jeans at the lower cost, (so much for their price match, huh). Instead, they were very solid in not selling the jeans at the reduced cost. What I did not disclose to them was I had two t-shirts at $23 each, plus another item for $120.00, and a pair of shoes for $80.00 that was also an intention to purchase. Essentially, because they were adamant about not reducing the jeans to $10 each for a $20 reduction of my cost, they lost a $330 sale, and a desire for me to never shop in their store again.

From reading other reviews though it seems poor management is to blame and probably lack of customer service training for staff. Many people have wirtten that it is a horrible store to work in (see google reviews). In any case we will no longer shop in a store that does not do returns that refund the total purchase price (the only store I know that does this is Harbor Freight with their "restocking" fee). They do have a decent selection, this being small town Manhattan KS. Value is ok. I also felt they treated us differently because we do not look like your average midwestern Kansas red neck type people.

So I went to Outpost... they not only had what I needed (& were well stocked in sizes), but knew the following day I would need it shaped. There was a bad ice storm that day and most places were closing early, they called me to ask if I was still planning on coming in and stayed open a little while just to make sure I was taken care of! I could not possibly say enough great things about this place and the people who work there/own it. They always have what I need and their customer service is amazing. They've got a way of making you feel like they've known you forever. We will continue shopping at Outpost no matter where we are.

I was visiting your area for a friend's birthday party and had never been to your store before. I…read morehave to say I was very impressed with its organization and how nice the employees were. The women's clothing section was very neat and organized. I worked for Target a couple years ago as a seasonal employee and that clearance area in soft lines can be a BEAR to keep tidy. Everything in the women's clothing area was "as it should be" and the employees greeted me when I was looking around. The electronics section....I was looking for a screen protector for my Samsung. Unfortunately your store carries mainly for IPhones, but the employee was very helpful in trying to find something for me before we decided I needed to order something online. While food shopping, I found everything well-stocked, neat, and organized. The entire shopping experience was very pleasurable and a joy! Checking out, I met Ms. Barbara....who really is beyond kind, and has this spirit about her that is wonderful! She is in the perfect job doing checkout as she can have guests leave the store smiling, feeling good about their purchases, and, even if it is a frazzled parent with a small child, have a moment of joy talking to Barbara. I had to split my order in two and she was gracious about that as well as helping me decide if I had gotten enough items for the party. The guest before me did not know about the App or Target Circle (I have the red card from when I worked for Target and use the App as well as Target Circle quite often). Barbara took a moment to inform the guest about it and how beneficial it would be for that guest. I highly recommend the store manager take a moment to recognize not only Barbara but all of your employees with the exemplary job they are doing, especially in these tough times!

Marshall's also has dressing rooms with a sense of humor: the hanger hooks in the rooms are labeled "Definitely," "Possibly," and "Tomorrow." I have found some really unique items in this particular store, including a hammered copper pitcher, a beautiful silver picture frame, and tonight - unbelievably - Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Yuzu eau de toilette! For those who know me, a lot of my life centers around green tea and yuzu everything, so to find that (and at a discounted price!) inside of a Marshall's here in the Little Apple was truly awesome.
