i shopped yesterday here and found several pair of the same shoe in clearance but the one pair in my size was not red tagged marked down. i took both pair to the register and showed cashier but refused to mark down the same shoe and also refused my request to ask a manager. so I left. now this is a store I am a frequent customer at. I found this cashier to be very rude along with poor customer service. i find it odd because most of the employees here are recognizable are are very cordial and helpful, this girl was new and very rude!! read more

I have been shopping at Marshall's in Kingston, NY for decades. I'm a huge TJ/Home Goods/Sierra and Marshall's fan. I spend thousands of dollars at this chain annually and NEVER had a bad experience there...until today. I wanted to return a swimsuit I had bought there exactly two weeks back. I did not have the receipt but the tags were all perfectly in place. it was obviously not worn and in the same condition I had bought it in. I got up to the register to return the suit and buy a few other items. as I did not have the receipt the cashier looked up my purchase using my credit card. First, she told me I could not return a swimsuit after one week. I explained I'd been ill and their return policy is one month. and frankly, there was no disclosure of this when I purchased the suit. The I was told I could not return the suit as it was "missing" the little tape that is supposed to keep the suit hygienic in the crotch area. I explained there had been no sanitary tape there. She called the manager on duty, who I will not name but he was a sad, angry man. He told her to not let the return go through due to the missing tape. I asked for him to come speak with me. He appeared and was nasty from the start. I asked his name and he gave me a smart aleck reply and also refused to give me the name of his district manager when it became apparent he was not going to listen to reason. I tried to explain the tape was missing when purchased and was told that every single bathing suit in Marshall's has that tape. We went back and forth but he refused to listen to me.He made several snarky remarks and walked away. He also said it was a NYS law to have the tape. It is not. He then rudely stood over me as I made my transaction as if I was some kind of problem. BTW the darn suit cost all of $19.99. After I was done at the register I walked to the swimsuit area. In just a few minutes I pulled 20 suits with no tape. The manager walked by and I showed him the 20 suits, including entire groups of the same style all with no tape. He again, refused to listen to me. I asked, how can you sell a suit without tape and expect it to be returned with tape? He made a rude remarks asking if I'd return my panties! I voiced that I was getting mad. He literally told me that the policy of the store is to not take suits back and suggested I had even worn the suit despite its pristine condition. How can a store not disclose their return policy, sell a suit without tape, and expect it to be returned with it?! Just as an FYI, I did not remove any tapes. The store has cameras and I found so many in a few minutes I didnt even think about it! Anyway, this manger said I was mad because I wasn't " getting my way" and then said I was "insane" and he was going to kick me out of "HIS"store. I left. I did tell this manager that would go to social media. And here I am. I never used profane language. I did try to hand him the unracked suits but he refused to take them and I placed them on a clothing rack. I am fuming about the treatment I received today. It is really such a shame because all I wanted was a store credit for an item that didn't fit properly. read more

It is fabulous. I go to several marshals. This one is always organized. There's nothing on the floors. Customer service is great.

It has a Great inventory. There is Plenty of help. The store is Neat and clean. I found a lot of up to date items

Went to grab socks/underwear and I stopped to check if they had any iPhone 14 pro cases. I tried the 13 pro case on (that didn't fit). While I'm putting the $5 case back, I notice an employee behaving weird behind me. As I went to check out, I walked out, and to my surprise this guy follows me to my car. Not sure if he was just slow or if they have a lot of theft, someone follows me out next time, I'll be calling the police or I'll deal with you myself. Is it just me or is getting harassed to put your clothing back on the hangers that you've tried on in dressing room wrong ? Managers should speak to the older woman that works at dressing rooms . My daughter tried on 6 items this woman rudely insisted that we had to put the clothing back on the hangers ourselves . I am a huge Marshalls/TJ Maxx/Homegoods fan, but the customer service experience I recently had at the Marshalls in Kingston was strange and somewhat alarming. I travel a lot and will seek out these stores. Each store is different as to how they want you to handle a return. Many stores require you to leave your returns up front behind the counter, instead of carrying the already paid for items in the store. When I approached the front counter at the Kingston store, many of the cashiers were busy checking out customers. There was one woman named Eileen who was just standing behind the counter, not assigned to a register. I caught her eye and asked her to come over to me (I was behind the counter) so I could ask her a question about a return. At first she blatantly ignored me and went back to doing nothing, literally standing there. I asked her if she worked there. She then snapped back sarcastically that she did, so I asked her if I should leave my return with her as I shopped. She then continued to ignore me. It was almost comical as other people were looking at her as well, confused to as why she was looking away. She literally was not doing anything, was not talking with another customer or associate. Finally I called out to ask her if she wanted me to leave my return behind the counter. She then rudely snapped "just take it with you!!!!!" I then thanked her for her help and she very sarcastically said "oh...you are SO very welcome!!!!" What. The. Heck. ? I do not live here and this is my first time to this store. It almost felt as if she thought she knew me and was purposefully being rude? Her reaction was so over the top intense. I caught the eye of several other sales associates who rolled their eyes and shook their head. Several people on line made comments about her strange behavior. I was embarrassed for her conduct. This is first time I have ever left a negative review. This interaction stuck with me for several days. I did try to contact the store to let management (John) know about the weird interaction, however the phone just loops around and no one ever picks up. I read more

I usually hit this store once a week but am very close to not going in anymore. Last night, We waited in line for an extremely long time, only 2 cashiers were on. The line behind me grew longer and I watched one young woman walk out in disgust. I noticed a customer at #1 was taking forever to check out, talking, and then she left the cashier and walked out, but the cashier wasn't calling anyone else down. Next I see the same customer come back in the store with reusable bags. It seems she went out to her car and got her bags- WTH?? I can't believe the cashier even allowed that!! The management in this store has hit rock bottom for sure. Another annoying thing is how close together the women's clothing racks have been placed. Only one person at a time can fit. Not pleasant to shop in this store at all anymore, the Poughkeepsie store is so much nicer. read more

Always love Marshalls... I mean who doesn't? But I just wanted to make a comment on the older lady that works there that keeps harassing my boyfriend and I about putting clothes back where they belong. I get that you should be a little bit conscious just to be nice but when you're shopping and buying a lot frequently you're not gonna run around bringing everything back to it's spot. We all do it . Anyway, This lady follows us and picks up something we left behind and says "Are you done with this?" In a rude tone and my boyfriend is like "Yes, i'm so sorry" and she rolled her eyes and walked away. Not cool, it's happened 2 different times we've been here. I've worked in retail and it sucks but thats customer service and i would NEVER do this because it was my job to put things back and that's what I was being paid for. read more

Love this store. They have gotten a lot better over the years. I always find something hear. They have a lot of stuff so it may look disorganized, but if you know the store you know where to go. People also make a mess of things. I've been in other Marshalls I like this one the best! read more

Hard to leave here without finding something I love. Favorite place to get gifts, home and kitchenware. This store has more abundant options than the Marshall's where I used to live and seems to get new inventory continuously, which is great. read more

The store is a freaking mess. Shoes are all jumbled in the wrong spot. The wrong sizes and all over the place. You don't even know how much anything is because of it being in the wrong spot. Bathroom is always a mess and looks like it's never been clean. Pretty frustrating these people are paid to not do their job. read more

Still looking into Marshall's to find SOMETHING that I just adore, but every time I go in, I can't find anything I actually like. They say that they carry brand names at low prices. But during my "waltz" around the store (after using their restroom) in search of something to put on my list, I was led on a wild-goose chase and still came up not buying anything...and that was even after I brought a Lyft customer here this past afternoon. I saw the bungee pet leashes, but have yet to recognize how well my pet would respond to one (if purchased). However, all other departments I still have to veto because they have no names I actually recognize...I can't even go further without these proper names - so how can I tell if these prices are good for our economy....not in my book yet. read more

I love marshals in general but the store in Kingston is so poorly managed that I have no desire to return here and will tell my friends not to bother either. There can be a long line of people waiting to check out with only one or two registers open and three employees hanging out behind the registers talking among themselves instead of opening the registers to take our money. So maybe they didn't notice it was a line forming but when I asked nicely if they could please open another register I get a snotty answer with a nasty look and then they take their time opening the register. This has happened to me at least three times in the last couple of years and I'm done. It is amazing what a difference good management makes in a customer's experience in a store. read more

I typically love these stores but this location was just just so shabby it was depressing. Everything looked picked over and dirty. Made me not want to buy anything. The associates by the shoes were gruff but the lady sorting through stuff by pet goods was nice. read more

This store has hit the pits. These have got to be the ugliest clothes this side of creation. What is happening to Kingston? There is no where to shop anymore. Best to just shop online and not bother wasting your time going over there. read more

marshalls is where kingston shops. they want to look ralph lauren but have k-mart wallets. this is where the two meet. actually, leaving kingston out of the equation, its a not bad shop where you can find some good deals on decent stuff. you have to keep going back to see what they've got. maybe you'll get something good, or maybe it will be a waste of 15 mins. read more

My favorite place to shop. You can get great deals on great stuff. I hardly shop anywhere else. Sometimes you have to be vigilant , it can be hit or miss. Nicest one around way nicer than Poughkeepsie or Albany Marshalls read more
