Scheer & Co. offers a 50-year written warranty assuring you that no discoloration or weakening of the fabric or other components will occur as a result of our processes. Our warranty, like our in-depth testing and cleaning services, is an indication of our commitment to fine apparel preservation. DON"T BELIEVE THIS!! I paid $1,600 and shipped the dress from NC to NYC. I waited from October until March to receive the dress back and when it arrived, not only was the dress still very dirty on the bottom but the intricate flowers on the straps looked puffy and not at all like they looked before the dress was cleaned. I called the company and spoke to a girl named Maria who knew who I was, which dress it was and never asked to see pictures or anything, so she knew the dress was messed up when it was shipped out. She said she would look into getting it fixed. I waited for over 2 months and heard nothing, so I called her back and she said that it was going to be $1000 a yard for the fabric to fix the dress and it was only sold in yards and since I didn't need a full yard, they were trying to figure out what to do. I was being very patient but that was a mistake. After that conversation, I decided to take the dress to a well known local wedding dress cleaner to see if they could get the dirt off of the bottom of the dress while I was waiting on J Scheer to figure out replacing the flowers. I showed the man who owns the local cleaners the messed up flowers and told him to just clean the bottom of the dress where the dirt was still on the dress (my daughter's wedding was outside the weekend after a hurricane so the ground was very wet). He was able to get the dirt out, which was great, except that J Scheer used the fact that I had the dress cleaned again to tell me that they will no longer be responsible for fixing what they already admitted to damaging. I was told this in a most unprofessional email from someone named Sophia. I have called Jonathan Scheer, the owner of the company, several times, and he will not call me back, so I am resorting to leaving reviews and letting the wedding dress designers know that they should not recommend them because they don't keep their word. I even talked to the lady who sold us the dress at Oscar de la Renta, and they are willing to cover the tailoring to fix the dress so J Scheer would only have to cover the cost of the fabric and apparently they won't even do that because I left that in a message for Mr. Scheer and he still didn't call me back. The least they could do is refund my money so I can use that to pay for the fabric to fix the gorgeous dress that they ruined. Don't be fooled by the guarantee like I was!

We were married this past September at Timber Lake Camp and had the wedding (and weekend) of our…read moredreams thanks to Sandra O'Connell at Hudson Valley Ceremonies. If you don't get to the end of this review and only read one thing: Hiring Sandra was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. She is beyond dedicated to giving you the wedding of your dreams, and her ability to execute and make it ALL happen is nothing short of extraordinary. Every wedding needs a Sandra! We had the pleasure of working with Sandra from the beginning of our wedding planning journey all the way through our 3 day wedding weekend. When we were stumped looking for venues that could accommodate our large guest list AND a weekend-long celebration. Sandra approached us with a "think outside the box" venue: Timber Lake Camp, a beautifully serene summer camp nestled in the Catskills. We were unsure about the idea of a summer camp wedding but trusted her instinct - and thankfully we did. The day we visited the camp we knew it was PERFECT. 500 gorgeous acres with plenty of room to accommodate ALL of our guests, that we could have all to ourselves for an entire weekend - camp cabins, facilities, staff, and all! It truly felt like she had pulled a rabbit out of a hat and that was only the start of Sandra's magic! Throughout the entire year and a half long planning process, Sandra lent us her ear and expertise: she listened to our wishes, concerns, thoughts; guided us through a million different decisions; provided alternative options/ideas to meet our budget; and found the perfect vendors to bring our vision to life. She sat in on our calls with the coordinator at the camp, and even made visits to the camp with us - including one visit during a snowstorm! She also managed our multitude of vendors (including 3 separate caterers!) from the initial inquiries all the way through to the end of packing up after the wedding. When the wedding weekend came around, Sandra stayed on site all 3 days and made every event run smoothly - we felt like she was somehow everywhere all at once! We had multiple events, including our rehearsal, a Welcome BBQ, Karaoke Night, late night bonfire, and activities throughout the camp. If there were any hiccups, we didn't know about them! The day of the wedding, between everything she was coordinating and the multiple vendors on-site, she somehow still found time to check in with us to make sure we were okay. But honestly we truly felt at ease with Sandra running the show. Her professionalism, calmness, and get-it-done attitude made every part of the weeknd run seamlessly! And on top of it all, she made our marriage official by signing our marriage license. :) A total bonus that she is ordained and a special memory to share with her as she was such a big part of our special day! Our guests are still talking about how magical the weekend was. Many specifically commented that even with so many events and activities going on, it was one the most well-coordinated and organized weddings they'd attended. It was definitely a huge effort to pull off a 3 day wedding weekend on a 500 acre camp, but teamwork truly made this dream work! We could not be more grateful to Sandra, her team, and all of our amazing vendors for giving us a wedding better than we could have ever imagined! We can't recommend Sandra and HVC enough.

It's all such a whirlwind of activity. And the logistics at our farm were challenging, to say the least. I also greatly appreciated how, during the actual wedding and party afterward, Sandra and her assistant were there, in the background, keeping the caterer happy, moving tables, shuttling slightly inebriated guests to their cars, (thank you, especially for that. I think I would still find people walking the horse pasture fence, looking for their cars.) And for doing the behind-the-scenes things that rarely are noticed, unless they're not done. (For example, one of the porta potties malfunctioning). Sandra handled that with quiet speed. And mostly I appreciated how she took care of Amanda's mother's doilies, the family mementoes, tucking things away in the pool house for safe keeping. And for a good, general tidying up at the end of the night.

My (now) mother-in-law immediately booked a wedding event planner who's known as "the best" and we began the planning process almost 2 years before we actually said "I do." Welp, turns out "the best" was a complete nightmare, more so because he didn't give 0 you-know-what's about my vision, getting to know us as a couple (or, as people in general) and basically wanted our wedding to be a cookie-cutter version of all the others he's coordinated. A mere 3 months before our wedding I couldn't take it anymore and we finally fired him, which felt freeing until I realized we had assembled an incredible dream team of vendors, but had no idea how to pull it all together for our big day. After getting a recommendation from our amazing photographer (Kelsey Combe) and reading glowing reviews, I reached out to Kate, desperate and nervous. We immediately connected with Kate's calming, soothing demeanor on our first phone call and she was (thankfully!) willing to take on our wedding and right all the wrongs of our previous planner. Kate was an absolute angel (and I don't say this lightly!), who was patient, kind, insanely organized and professional and went above and beyond in executing my original vision. She fully embraced all of the wacky ideas we had (vinyl records as party gifts? sure! multiple disco balls? okay!) and brought so many out-of-the-box ideas to the table as well. Using her software, AislePlanner, made even the most annoying aspects of wedding planning (the dreaded seating charts) fun and simple. There's no rest for the wicked? False: there's literally no rest for wedding planners. I have no idea how Kate does it (and I'm a detail-oriented interior designer myself!), but she expertly crafted our best day ever and was the voice of reason (while being a kick-ass coordinator) on the day of our wedding. I cannot recommend her enough and am super jealous of all the future brides who get to work with Kate. A million times thank you to you, Kate! xx
