This has to be the SLOWEST Marshall's in the USA. You can have only 4 people in front of you and still wait more then 20 minutes in line with 3-4 cashiers. When I first started coming here I thought wow there is no one ever in here. After 4 or 5 times and it taking over an hour for picking out only a few items each time it all made sense. The neighborhood knows you must have the time in order to come in here. There is no quick out. Do not be fooled by a short line because the cashiers review each item through and fold and ring up as slow as humanly possible. Good luck. I went here one day to return an ipad mini charger that didn't charge at all. There was nobody in line for the cashier number system , actually there was barely no customers at all. I decided to go to a register with a light on. I asked if she was open, I want to return something. I get a feeling this particular Marshall's is fancier than most, given it's location in Danville and the plethora of locals spending money in this area. I've seen handbags ranging from Kate Spade to Coach to Dooney & Burke to Michael Kors at this Marshalls and although I wasn't in the market for anything, I'd recommend taking a look to see what they've got, if you are looking for a particular more expensive brand. They have one of those expanded shoe sections and I've had a few good finds here, although the sizes tend to be limited and the area gets trashed pretty quickly. I'm not a huge fan of their business casual wear and I find myself coming here in particular for their athletic apparel. Hands down, one of the best section of workout gear in a store of this ilk. The majority of my gym and yoga outfits come from this Marshalls and include brands like Adidas, Nike, New Balance, Puma and others. I don't think I've ever paid more than $20 for pants, tanks, sports bras or even some thinner type hoodie/jackets. I work nearby so tend to pop in once a week to see what's new (that can get dangerous for my wallet). Who can pass that up right? If you see something that you like, buy it, because I guarantee if you go the next day, it won't be there. Compared to other Marshalls, this Marshalls is surely unique. It is definitely more upscale as it stocks designer clothes and dresses. You can find designer clothes here for less than half the original price! It's almost ludicrous. I came here with the sole purpose of searching a dress to wear for a wedding. I left happy with my purchase. Although this location is a smaller store compared to other Marshalls I've frequented, this Marshalls does not appear to be visited by many shoppers. On a normal day would give this store a solid three. Nothing too exciting, but staple items at good prices. Today seemed a bit different. The clearance section seemed larger than usual; more staff unloading things from boxes or cart; Marshall "corporate" types walking around and greeting staff. But nothing unusual right? Having just finished the women's contemporary walk through, I then decided to go through clearance. Saw this skirt, felt the fabric ... OOH THE FABRIC (feels like nylon, with fabric lining underside). So I took a look at the price, $40 not bad. Seems kind of pricey for a plain non branded skirt ($5 anyone?). Original price $130? Huh? What brand is this? That was when I finally viewed the label: Prada. Made in Italy. Con: Poor gal - this skirt looks like it has been through a lot though. There is a slight stain, and no care instructions or MSRP attached. The Marshall tag is also falling off. Another customer's reject perhaps. Needed to pick up a toy for a charity at work and found this on the way back from Pleasant Hill where I was visiting some friends. So I hate shopping. I mean, I really do. I hate it so much that I buy all my clothes (and my kids' clothes) at Target just because I regularly go there for other stuff anyway. That said, I was really in a bind to get my little boy a nice shirt for a school event this week. Marshall's is right on my way home from work so I run to the store to pick him up a shirt. The selection was awful (at least for boys) I have to say, but the prices.... Now, I realize that cheap me has been overspending on kid clothes and shoes at Target! I picked up a perfectly acceptable shirt, some great quality kids shoes for $12 (!) and even found him a good quality (and cute) $7 backpack for school next year. All in the space of 20 minutes. I always go to this store only because of location but customer services are the worst most of the time.

Nice selection, but very disorganized. I thought it was strange how the employees would look at customers but not greet them. I saw some damaged merchandise that had no business being on the shelf. This seems to be a common theme at all the Marshalls stores I've shopped at. I didn't buy anything, because the line was long, there was only one cashier, and the other employees just wandered throughout the store, giving shoppers blank looks. Kinda creepy. The selection of women's and men's clothing is way better than the selection at the Marshalls in Pleasant Hill. This Marshalls is located near Costco. read more

Great designer cloths, but you'll find them on the floor or on different racks and wrong sizes. Cosmetic section is a free for all with most packages opened and used. Racks and shelves are so close to each other only one person can walk an aisle. The checkout lines can be 15 to 20 customers long. There are rarely enough checkers and some can be very rude, others very nice. And yes there is a few checkers who closely check your returns. When the lines are to long I leave my items. Discounted items are not worth the wait. I blame POOR management. Ive been in the store while management is there and never do they open a register or pick up clothing and help the employees. read more

Interesting dispute the day after Christmas. An employee said bye girl bye to a customer. Super classy argument at check out. The joke is on us, right? Molasses runs downhill faster. Line rotatedout of the barriers time and time again. Employees stacking bags instead of checking. I heard a customer say the line is long and I don't need the credit card spiel. It's ok. "We don't care." Well I care. I'm a pretty patient person, but waiting in line for 25 minutes at 6 PM on a Wednesday night, not during the holiday season, is ridiculous! Speaking in Mandarin, talking about how badly their backs hurt, how they don't like the new schedule the manager posted for them...torture. I'll drive to Dublin even though this is so close to home. I have been shopping at this store for 17 years. I am so disappointed that they have not replaced any of the the sales people because all of them have poor customer service skills of some form. There is Lori, an older woman with curly blond hair, who wears gloves and inspects every item for a very long time before she often denies a return. I always have a receipt, and I still get items denied half of the time. I had the same clearance shoe issue that another reviewer (Lori) did. I think she has OCD. This store will sell clearance shoes that have been tried on and worn around the store for months. If you purchase a clearance shoe and try to return it, the cashiers will likely call Lori over to hold it up in the air and slowly inspect it in a ritual that attracts a lot of attention and hold up the line. She is crazy and needs to go. There is also an African American woman with the glasses is consistently rude. She is usually on register 2 close to the door and socializing with other colleagues. She will not greet you and acts as if she is doing you a big favor by ringing your purchase. I purchased a toy unicorn as a Christmas gift that was one of a kind, but soiled. I asked her if I could get a discount for the damage. She actually said she would take $1 off for the extensive soiling. Then she immediately said, "are you going to buy it or what?!?" I took a deep breath because I know she is always rude like this, and then quietly asked her to please give me a moment to speak. She then told me she "doesn't give a damn." I think the management knows they have job security and has become lazy. Danville is an easy market, where affluence allows the store to easily meet corporate targets. The same managers have been there forever. I notice them moving slow, socializing, going to the backroom for prolonged periods, and generally dragging themselves to resolve any issue or sign a return for over $100. Lazy lazy lazy. It is extremely difficult to return any item at this store. I usually go to Dublin to return an item to avoid the harassment. They have no problem selling you a purchase over $100, but will NOT take back returns that total over $100 unless you want to have a long session of questioning and condescending embarrassment. I always feel like I'm being interrogated like a criminal, even though I shop with my baby and no time to play games (I have 3 young kids and barely get a chance to sleep). DO NOT SHOP HERE! Never coming back. I bought a shirt for my husband and they made a tag for it and charged me $19.99. When I got home my husband found the tag hidden inside it sleeve and it was 5.99!!!! I came back not that they refused to give me the refund treated me as if I made up the story! I always enjoy coming to this Marshals location! I don't typically like going to marshals to shop but this one really made me change my mind! They have such a great selection of shoes, clothing, home decor (love!) and beauty products.... I always end up walking out with more than I had intended! Anyone who knows me knows two things about me: 1) I'm inherently cheap. 2) I love to shop... a lot. I cannot tell you how proud I get when I get a good deal. I really don't care about brands or labels. I care more about how it looks...oh and that it's cheap. It depends my mood on how well I do at Marshalls. Some times I just don't have it in me to search but some days it just kind of presents itself to you... This is a really nice Marshalls. I particularly love the shoe section. A couple months ago I bought two pairs of Born sandals (I can't believe I bought Born sandals...I'm seriously getting old) for the price of 1 pair at Nordstrom. I just assumed they were last seasons, which I don't care about anyway, but found the EXACT same shoes at Nordstrom being sold currently. Last week I bought a beautiful Adrianna Papell dress for $80. When I went searching for a picture online to send to my husband I found the EXACT same dress at Nordstrom being sold for $199!! Really, there are great deals to be had here. My favorite Marshall's so far, only because they have the best choices of shoes, purses, gift items, and a pretty good home section. This place is worth the drive if your are into high-end brand names like Gucci, Zanotti, Kate Spade, etc. They also have the nicer Michael Kors clothes, purses, and shoes than some of the other Marshalls. You do not get harassed by the SA's instead they may just chat with you out of sheer kindness which is rare these days. And if there are new inventory that still need to come out, they will give you a heads up. Parking is usually great even with them sharing a parking lot with Costco. It also stays open later than the mall if you are in last minute mode. read more

Probably one of the better Marshall's in the Bay Area. Rumor has it that certain Marshalls seem to carry certain brands at certain stores. Believe me, I go to every Marshalls near my home, my paren't home, my in-law's home, and my work, which is a total of 7 on a regular basis. Danville, in general, tends to get some of the better name brand items. Maybe because of the location? More than likely, because I have been to other Marshalls in "not so great areas" and the selection at other locations is almost a complete 180 in difference. Case in point - The Danville store tends to carry True Religion, Rock and Republic, and Seven for all Mankind Jeans for men, but the one in San Leandro carry Rocca Wear, Ecko, and South Pole. I know it caters to a different market and demographics, but wow that is a huge difference in product distribution. It's funny you see the people from Blackhawk shopping here, while I was talking to one of the employees the other day, she commeted on how several of the customers have the AMEX Centurion (aka AMEX Black Card aka you can only be invited to get a card if you charge a minimum of $250,000 a year and the membership fee is $2500 a year). Yes even the wealthy want to save a few extra bucks (maybe the reason why they stay wealthy). Overall, the place is clean and well organized, best selection of high end and designer clothing in comparison to other Marshalls in the Bay Area, and a friendly retail staff. In my opinion, most chains are the same and it always boils down to the staff - am I right, or am I right? This Marshalls was awesome! I went here, found some plates I wanted, but talked myself out of buying them. Once I got home, I had thrifters remorse (I was trying not to spend money, so I was being thrifty - get it?). I called the store, asked if they would hold the plates for me so I could drive all the way back out from Oakland to get them. They only hold until end of day. *sigh* The lady on the phone was so nice, she called her manager, explained my thrifters remorse (they laughed) and how far away I was, and they placed a 2 day hold on the plates just in case I didn't want to make the trek out the next day. To me, that is the best kind of customer service, ya know? The kind you don't have to ask, beg or trade your first born for; the kind that is just provided...provided in a crazy way...like an actual service. read more

I love stopping by this Marshalls after I do my groceries from Costco. This Marshalls is conveniently located right next to Costco, and they have nice clothing selections than other Marshalls. However, the only negative thing I have to say about this Marshalls is returning an item. Marshalls is usually really not picky when a customer returns an item with the tag and receipt, but I have had some problems at this store because they are very uneasy about customer returns for some reason. So, if I have to return an item that I don't want, I usually go to the Dublin Marshalls because they don't even ask me why I am returning an item. Also, the lady at the dressing room entrance wouldn't let my precious dog in with me to the fitting room, and that upset me a lot because every other marshalls I've been to always let my dog in with me. My dog loves to shop with me :) Oh and I consider this marshall's as an "upscale" store because they carry Prada clothing and shoes. I've even spotted a Chanel jacket at this store. Some other high end designers I've seen are Armani, D&G, and Juicy couture. read more

I am giving this Marshalls four stars because the checkout lane is really cool and streamlined. I don't know if other Marshalls do this now, but usually there are multiple lines and things get really backed up. The registers in this Marhsalls are all behind one counter, kind of like Fry's. As a register opens up, an automated voice will tell you what register to go to. read more

I usually like shopping at this Marshall's because it's closer to home, cashiers are nice and I can usually find good things. On 03/25/2023 I bought a few items over $200, then today 04/06/2023 I tried returning one of the items worth $24.99 to my surprised the manager told me I mean accused me of changing the tag and that they don't sale that specific item at this store. I had the receipt, the item had all of the tags. Two managers where telling me they don't sell it at Marshall's and it was uncomfortable feeling being accused of doing something that I didn't do. I had Everything to be able to return it without a problem. One of the manager said I' will take it but we don't carry this item here. The other manager I don't want to say it but is an Asian manager was a bit rude and kinda racist , accusing me without any proof. They can always go back and check their videos from that specific day and time and will see me buying the item there. Makes me so upset, the feeling of been accused. I still like this Marshall due to the 3 mins drive to my home. I hope the managers can get more training on how to treat customers. read more

I love Marshall's! Who isn't a fan of finding great Fashion deals?! I've been shopping here for years but lately I've noticed that its been a hit or miss with most visits. However, I recently found the jacket of my dreams and I will forever be a huge fan of Marshall's because of it. I've been looking for a certain Willow & Clay jacket that's been sold out at Nordstrom for a few weeks now. I decided to stop in at Marshall's while I was in the area this past weekend, and I'm so glad I did. Right in the front of the store was the jacket I've been looking for. Unfortunately it was a large and I was searching for a small. So I called 2 others Marshall's in the area and sure enough the Dublin location had one jacket left and It was a small! They put it on hold for me and I went there right away to get it! Marshall's helped me find the $110 jacket of my dreams for only $50! I was ecstatic! Marshall's is a great place for everything from shoes to hair products! I've found great headphones, gloves, water bottles, pajamas and so on! I was surprised when I was confronted by the store manager because I was returning a Theory dress without the receipt. It still had all the tags and red button tag on the bottom, but I just couldn't find the receipt. I was told by the clerk and then the manager that you must have the receipt if it is a designer brand. When did that policy happen and don't you have to tell the customer when you sell them the item???? No one told me. I do have my receipts most of the time, but this one was lost. Reluctantly, the manager approved it, but she was not happy and it showed. Then as I was exiting the store, the manager and clerk were yelling at me and running toward the door. Apparently, they thought I had not signed the return receipt paperwork. I did and told them that. They shoved a receipt in front of me that did not have a signature and seemed very happy with themselves until I told them it wasn't my receipt. Apparently, someone else did get out of the store without signing it. Whoops again for the manager. Not happy with management at this store. I have to find another store to give my money to since this one is short on customer service skills. read more

Not only is the assortment of merchandise unimpressive at the Danville location, customer service, specifically the cashier named Saman, is disgusting. I had a cart with an enormous dresser that was difficult to maneuver. I was sharing the cart with my boyfriend who was making a separate purchase and after I helped drop off my boyfriends items at the next cashier, Saman gave me a hard time for walking to her cashier shortly after telling me that I wasn't the next customer. Instead of being understanding, she became argumentative which took more time. I recently moved from NY and have been making frequent visits to the Dublin location and have had success with finding great deals and greeted with friendly service.
