This is the typical Marshalls. The layout is similar to other stores. This store is organized and the shelves are fully stocked. There's a large sign by the entrance stating that mask mandates are back in North Carolina so they require all customers to wear one. There's a hand sanitizer station by the entrance as well. Marshalls is a great place to find seasonal decor. We visited in September so they had a ton of Fall and Halloween decor. I like how there's a garage so you don't have to look for street parking.

Smallest Marshalls that I've ever been in. I am always amazed at how this chain manages to stay in business and be profitable. I mean, is this the first place you think of to get a suitcase or a cover for your iPad or a tub of salty/sweet popcorn? Probably not. I think of Marshalls and I'm thinking semi-name brand clothes and shoes. All of that, they have in spades. Brightly lit with fluorescents (since the entrance is inside the parking deck) and a very shiny floor, the clothes racks are well separated and decently stocked. Prices are okay - not great but not excessive. And the selection is pretty good. If you need a nice outfit or a rollaboard suitcase, give 'em a shot.

You have to be in the right mood and mindset to go to Marshall's. Like Jason L. said, you have to dig to find what you want. I was not in the right mood when I headed there this afternoon. My friend had raved about the shoe selection there, so I decided to go take a look. I've been searching for some boots or wintery shoes. The shoe selection was all right, though not amazing. It had good variety and pretty good prices. Then I started to look through the clothes, but I just couldn't handle the crowds of people and all the digging it would take to eventually find something. Given how tight everyone's budget is, Marshall's is probably a good, cheap place to look for Christmas presents this year. Ugh. The parking garage there is designed terribly. And that's not a good combination with Charlotte's horrid, oblivious drivers. There are so many near-accidents and it's only time before something horrible happens there.

If it's cute...I make a mental note....if I gasp...I'll walk in and usually will not purchase because they won't have my size. grr. I have to get a dress in a size large in everything so it won't look like a micro mini on my long legs. And Larges tend to fly off the shelves. Lets face it....I'm not 20 anymore and I shouldn't be in a micro anything. I'm all woman..hear me roar. I think this location is a little bit "hipper" than the other location that is in the South Park area next to WS. That location has some of the same pieces but I've been in there and the items would def appeal to the older crowd (40's) and then made mid 20s. Today..... Uptown location made me proud. I had my eye on a Chevron Black and White LONG maxi skirt that was at another boutique in dilworth. I called them and they sold out in about a week. *tears* of sadness. Oh WAIT...I thought to myself...I think Ivy & Leo had the same skirt....I'll check on Monday. Walked in today with a coworker and I couldn't find it on the rack. *tears of sadness* I browse the sale rack as I morn in silence. My coworker said "is this it". A light from heaven shown down with all it's glory as she held up my beloved chevron black and white maxi skirt. "YES" and I snatched it. Thank the good Lord it was a large. I would have probably bought it anyway if it were a small and squeezed my thick'um thighs in it. (Don't judge...you know you've done that before). Here's where I get irritated. I'm happy and I asked the sales girl to hold it for me as I need to go back and get my wallet. I could have sworn she rolled her eyes in her head and I politely said that I would be back...no need to worry. She just grabbed it and said "Name?" wow....someone's got the Monday blues. So I went back and the OTHER nicer girl helped me. Anyway..that's my story. Check it out. It's a trendy little place and dangerous for me as it's on my way to work....blah. I have a shopping problem.

Not sure where you would technically say is starts but for me It begins in the Wachovia building (I think it truthfully starts in the BB and T building but I can't leave these few shops out in the Wachovia building) and continues all the way to the Hearst Tower. I have visited a lot of the shops and the restaurant inside. It's an escape from the elements outside and a cool thing to see. However on the weekends it's a ghost town. The mall caters to the working/ business people downtown. On the weekends only the section in the Bank of America plaza is open and only Walgreens and the lobby of the Omni seem to be open. There is security walking around though. There are several different entrances and exits for the mall. You can walk towards other building in the area and there are tons of tunnels and walkways that connect you to different restaurants and shops in those building. The only thing open in this "mall" was a Walgreen's in the BofA building, none of the passageways were open nor did any of the nearby hotel employees even know they existed. Apparently all there is to do in Uptown is eat or drink, as there is a wealth of great restaurant and bar options, but there is no retail whatsoever. None. Really and truly sad because it's such a beautiful city, but unless you're looking for a bar or restaurant crawl, or to watch one of the local sports teams lose, you'll have to go elsewhere.

And they were absolutely right. Their location is connected to the parking deck off of 4th street. It's by appointment only so make sure you set that up prior which we did. (Sidenote: they are moving locations so not sure how much longer they'll be on 4th street) We were blown away ..(again let me be I honest..I was blown away) at the options that David had.
