What a sad disappointment. We've been looking forward to trying this place and tonight was the night. We walk in and the only menu is taped to the counter in front of the order window - not a single price on it. I ordered the sliced brisket plate with Parmesan potatoes and Cowboy beans and my wife had the rib plate with french fries and Cowboy beans. By the way, they don't have potato salad. When we picked up our order it consisted of two (yes two) slices of dry brisket and there were three small ribs on the other plate. I made sure to include photos. The brisket was very dry and tasteless as were the ribs. Neither of us cared for the Parmesan potatoes. I absolutely did not like the bbq sauce. All of this disappointment for $31. The people seem nice but this was one of our worse experiences at a BBQ restaurant. We won't be back.

Some actual prices for 2024. They don't seem to disclose their menu prices anywhere in writing.

The moiste brisket seemed to have some of the flat mixed in...so some was a little denser than I like. Overall good flavor and decent smoke ring, but the fat was not well rendered in places and had an icky mouth feel. The bark was not too bad.....we live in Fort Worth and our local barbecue place is actually better and surprisingly cheaper. Speaking of that, this o the first time in my life that h have not seen any posted menu prices online or in person when ordering. Seems sketch. And the brisket as it turns out in August of 2024 will set you back 26.95 a pound. About 3 dollars a pound more expensive than Dallas Fort Worth. Just thought you should know. I will attach the receipt so at least you have a few prices and don't get blindsided. Anyway, I would say the better value is the sliced brisket sandwich which has generous amounts of brisket on a tasty bun. Okra is also good. Decent barbecue place in Emory, but quite expensive for East Texas.

Solid brisket and beans, the jalapeño popper was great, and the cheesy Parmesan potatoes were absolutely amazing. Definitely check this place out.

Picked up my favorite sandwich at Marshall's Barbecue on Hwy69 in Emory. The "Mailman " is loaded with beef and sausage. (No beers were harmed in the making of this review)Chopped Brisket Sandwiches

Marshall's Barbecue Pit is the best BBQ in east Texas. We typically eat here once a week and are never disappointed. The food is great and there is even a side yard for the kids to run around and play before/after eating.

We drove in from Rowlett with my parents and this BBQ did not disappoint. It was worth the drive. First of all, we were impressed by the large yard with tree swings and sitting areas with umbrellas. It felt like we were visiting someone's home. They let us bring our dogs inside the yard to play. And us 'humans' had fun playing corn hole. Both couples ordered the sampler platter. The portions were really generous and the flavor was great. The guys loved the ribs best. The meat just fell off the bones. I liked the brisket and turkey. We will definitely be back!

Best bar by around!! Everything from their bar bq to their peach cobbler was absolutely amazing

The Hoss Sandwich and baby link sausage.

The food was amazing. Had the Hoss Sandwich (could only eat 1/2 and nearly went into a food coma). The homemade mac and cheese is out of this world as is the bread pudding. Bought some to carry back home and the super friendly staff packaged it so we could transport it in our ice chest back to Arkansas. The homemade bbq sauce is kept at a warm temperature on the tables, absolutely amazing. I have had lots of different bbq across the country but this was hands down the best food and service I have encountered. The food was also very reasonably priced. The Hoss sandwich was around $17.50 and could easily feed 3 people.

    Brisket plate, Coleslaw, beans.

First time visit was last weekend. Very expensive for what you got. No prices anywhere on the menu board. Food was OK nothing special.

He considers himself a, "barbecue aficionado" he was 100% happy! Food is excellent! A very nice, relaxed, and comfortable dining environment. No drama! No stress! Just prefect for a cool fall Friday night. The staff is warm, friendly and happy. When people say "Texas roadside barbecue" this place comes to my mind first. It's well worth the detour off the interstate if you are hungry. Lots of free parking- safe! We didn't even lock our car. I'm not sure exactly what else to say other than, if you are passing through East Texas and hungry- this is worth the time to stop, relax and enjoy a great meal. Thank You! It was wonderful!

When we arrived there were very few diners present. We were taken to a table with dirty dishes on it and the hostess picked up the dishes and put the menus down on the table. She did not wipe down the table. The waitress started off well with our drink orders, appetizers, and dinner order. While we waited other patron came in. Many got their appetizers and meals before we did. I noticed that some of those people ordered very similar things. Our waitress pretty much ignored us for the rest of our meal. I noticed that she talked with other diners (maybe regulars) cleared the dirty dishes, offered drink refreshers or dessert before bringing them the check. she brought the check to us and dropped it on the table and said she would be back to take the payment. We were interested in dessert and coffee, but did not get the chance to ask. We were not felt welcomed. We were very disappointed.
