Wanted to try this place for over a year- heard good things. Unfortunately I was hugely disappointed. The good- seasoning and bark on the ribs and brisket was really tasty which is why it's two stars and not one. However it tasted like it had been smoked over tree stumps- I've never had such a bitter smoke taste, really disappointing. Threw $50 worth of bbq in the trash because it was so bad even my guests couldn't eat it. Hope it was just a bad day or a new cook, has great potential but gotta get that smoke right. read more

Hands down Tyler Burgins is the best Pit Master in Alba/ Emory Texas, 4500 FM 515, Emory, Texas 75440, United States (903) 243-4591 This was my first time to stop after passing his food truck up many times. I had four big guys to feed after Berkley tournament today 10/15/22 so I decided to get everything he made. So I pulled in and walk up and said I want everything on your menu he had a big smile on his face. Told him I would be honest with my review. The brisket had a great smoke ring around it it was delicious a little bit stronger smoke than what we're used to with pecan but still delicious. The chop BBQ had the same smoke flavor and was my favorite so very good. The sauce was worth going back for second. I got Jalapeño/cheese smoked sausage my husband absolutely loved it. It was a little bit dry but maybe because I had to warm it up. The poblano pepper sausage was the best hit around here absolutely delicious a must to get. And the regular sausage was spot on with the smoked taste. The mustard potato salad pretty much standard and OK, and the Bake potato salad was OK but it would be a lot better in a casserole dish with some cheese on top and a little bit of sour cream/bacon bits on top. The smoke Turkey was absolutely delicious and I will get 2 pounds of it next time. But what was so surprising was the beans with the meat inside was different than what we have gotten from any other barbecue restaurant, great seasoning and flavoring inside them beans for sure so delicious. All the guys also talked about the braised cabbage with the sausage inside of it it reminded me of my grandmothers cabbage that had bacon and sausage in it back in the day. It's a must to get for sure. You also can pick up a pack of buns, pickles,onions, peppers and even some spicy barbecue sauce. I also got one burrito a Don burrito and it was something I've never ate before with the barbecue beef inside, it was absolutely delicious and probably could've fed both of us it was so big. So Tyler I am shouting you out and letting everybody know on Facebook, All Things Lake Fork, yelps, and everybody I talk to here at Mustang Resort that your barbecue food truck is a place to stop and not pass by. Burgins BBQ is a small mobile BBQ trailer out near Lake Fork on Hwy 515. Don't let the size fool you, this is the best BBQ place anywhere in the area. All of his meats are excellent but I am partial to the brisket and the turkey (get it early, he runs out often). The sides are all solid but on the weekend he has jalapeno creamed corn that is fantastic. read more

Excellent BBQ! We make a point to stop at least once for lunch on each visit to Lake Fork. The brisket and pulled pork are SO good and come with sides of sauce, onion and pickles. You don't need the sauce because the meat is smoked perfectly and very tender, a sign of really great BBQ! Don't miss the smoked chicken on Saturday and Sunday, also so yummy! We have never had a bad meal. You can sit at a small table or take it away from his service trailer. Either way it is really great. read more

Mr. Burgin should take tips from the previous owner as his sandwiches were loaded with meat and he only charged $4.50. He also had the BEST cole slaw, which I think his wife made. As an acquaintance of Harry's, I know he could make up to a $1000 on some weekends and go through 10 briskets. Mr. Burgin has great potential but he MUST maintain consistency and lay off the salt. The last chopped beef I got was so full of fat it was mushy. As much as I want to support him, it makes it difficult to return. read more
