Someone outside was joking about possible reasons they were doing it, but I assume it is the recent surge in Covid. At least I think he was joking. Because of the success of vaccines and Paxlovid in slowing down the spread and reducing its impacts, I think some people believe Covid is finished rather than that it is now like flu strains. Anyway, the wait outside the store was short. I tend to shop more closely in the Home Goods section rather then in the clothing, unless there is something in particular I am looking for. They sometimes have surprising items for sale, such as the time we found our brand of decaf coffee at a great price. The variety of decaf available at warehouse stores can be pretty limited, but if you have a Kurig you are made in the shade. They must sell a lot more of it and make more profit. So i don't shop at TJ Maxx regularly but I like stopping in occasionally to see what they have at that particular moment. It helps me miss Zayre's less from when I went to the Broadway Shopping Center decades ago now.

Decorated nicely on the outside and colors and textures galore inside. I viewed their shop on line and found a pair of pants that look like a dress purchased from them last year. So that was my target. The other thing I needed was a top to match the navy blue with periwinkle feather pattern on them. The navy is a deep color and hard to match. I finally gave in and asked assistance. The woman was around my age and knowledgeable about what pants I was referring too. She walked through the store with me looking for possible options. I found a nice tank combined with a navy blue shawl type piece that when together give you the color I was looking for. No time to try items on so off we went before I spent any more money. In for one thing and walked about with 4! Got a cut Bee tank for my sister too. Even if you aren't in the place to shop, just walking around their stores in interesting and the staff are happy to help.

The lines are never unbearable at this store because the cashiers are efficient but they're friendly too! I really appreciate that there's always staff around but they're not pushy. They also have worked really hard to keep this store clean during the pandemic. My one complaint, and this is not Old Navy's fault, is that, without fail, there is at least one guest that doesn't understand proper mask wearing procedure. It's not difficult! It does make me more hesitant to shop in store. Luckily, their curbside option is great! And then I don't have to go in and get germs from rude people! If you're in Bangor, be sure to pop in!

The Woolco, Freeses,Rich's, etc., stores that used to reside there were all Wal-Marted and Amazoned out of existence in this adapt or die economy. Is there a plus side? Well, the Airport Mall is in the Mall Hall of Fame. (Bet you didn't know there was one.) I personally like the Ocean State Job Lot as much as I did the long lost department stores like the one where my father met my mother (Newbury's, I think). Then there is the Hannaford you can hit for groceries while you are there. I honestly don't know if the Staples and the Mr. Paperback are still there. And of course, in the winter there is still the lost art of mall walking!
