Five of us went here and my mission: find a tea towel that can be used (and not just looked at) for my new vanity bathroom. The price tag was steep: $38... there was no way i was paying that kind of money. This is important. Why? Because of what happened next...the owner was kind enough to walk me through the walkway (tons of great items) to the downstairs (more?) where I was shown some other tea towels. Didn't find what I was looking for though. So what did i purchase? $1700 worth of John Robshaw bedding. Yes. I turned around and saw THE MOST beautiful bedding ever. I just said "that's it. That is my spare bedroom". I ordered every piece except for a small pillow. Service is amazing. They had some free cookies at the front and although someone was guarding over it, i took four of them. I was hungry! This is a fantastic shop, full of something for everyone. I'll be back next year and maybe then I'll buy a tea towel.

My husband and I stumbled across this store and loved it. Many stores in downtown Bar Harbor start to feel the same but The Beehive has a different buzz about it. The interior was quaint and classic but it also had a clean, modern flair to it. I spent most of my time looking at many whimsical products they carry from Fred (aka Genuine Fred) before settling on two potholders with sassy sayings like, "Recipe for Disaster." We also looked at hip crewel pillows, candles and souvenirs. Also, we enjoyed the pretty "Greetings from Acadia Nat'l Park" mural. The employee was friendly and if my suitcase wasn't busting at the seams I would have spent even more money here. This just might "bee" my very favorite store in Bar Harbor.

I'm not sure what this place is. The place is absolutely packed with rugs, jewelery, lights, stationary and endless little weird things. In fact everything in this place is weird. Sometimes just a little strange but still not quite right. The store smells strange although not in a bad way and even the people that work there are strange but in a extremely nice and friendly way. They sure love to talk. It's almost as if they don't really care if you buy anything they just want you to appreciate the strangeness of it all. My wife end up talking to a woman who works there about all types of strange and bizarre things for quite a while. I've never seen a store quite like this.
