This shop is a bit smaller than some of the other "tourist trap" shops along the strip, but they have a decent selection of high quality items at competitive prices. 2. This shop is dog friendly and also has the cutest dog who is the shops unofficial mascot. He I older and blind but still incredibly adorable. 3. The staff here is exceptional. They are incredibly receptive to customers but not overbearing and intrusive. The staff here was actually the nicest staff we interacted with while in Bar Harbor. 4. They not only have your generic run of the mill tourist attire, but have a huge selection of hand crafted items from local vendors. The jewelry here was gorgeous and I almost died laughing at a lobster calendar which was made by a local lobster fisherman. My Darling Maine Island Boutique is another great Bar Harbor Gift Shop on Cottage Rd where you can pick up really interesting keepsakes. No- you're not going to find the mundane souvenirs here. What you'll find are gifts with a purpose, many with a twist and a message from local artists. Victoria and I caught up via email and phone to solidify my appointment. She was super accommodating to our schedules and opened her shop earlier than expected. Thank you so very much! Finally, I found delicate, handmade silver earrings shaped like blueberry leaves in My Darling Maine. Perfect! I wore them to work my first day back - and lost one. I was heartbroken. But I contacted Victoria to buy a replacement, and she took the time to send me individual pictures of every pair of blueberry leaf earrings she had in the shop (because they're all unique!) so I could choose. And then she mailed them to me in Virginia. Now my beautiful blueberry leaf earrings are a sweet reminder of our family vacation in Maine AND of the power kindness can have over loss. My husband and I stumbled across this store and loved it. Many stores in downtown Bar Harbor start to feel the same but The Beehive has a different buzz about it. I spent most of my time looking at many whimsical products they carry from Fred (aka Genuine Fred) before settling on two potholders with sassy sayings like, "Recipe for Disaster." I will say this...even tho there are tons of t-shirt shops, that also sell...magnets, mugs, hoodies, I mean..you name it! Acadia Park will for sure stand out to you as one of the nicer ones. 1) its very large and has tons of room to move around. Many on "the strip" are small and cramped. Not this one. 2) its very nice inside. Very clean, nice floors. 3) every product is laid out beautifully. Whoever designed the layout...props to you. You sure did put thought into it and have made a tourists shopping experience in a very busy little town VERY! busy...so much better. 4) you will for sure find something you love here. They have the most amazing hoodies. Hoodies other stores did not have. Did I buy one tho? 4) No, I did not :( :( and I regret it to this day....I was just there like 3 weeks ago lol.
