We stopped at the shop on our vacation. There were 5 of us. I looked around and really enjoyed the shop. When I got tired I went back and sat on a bench in the register area. There were 3 people behind the counter , an adult male, teenage girl and an older woman. The man began to make comments about men with really long hair and women with really short hair cuts. This place is so cool! We passed it on our way to Bar Harbor and I couldn't wait to stop there on our way out. I bought some blueberry Honey for a fraction of the cost that it is in the shops in Bar Harbor. Same brand. I bought some other cool Kitchen items as well that I could not afford to buy in town. Such fun, unique and friendly place to visit, right on route 1A. Its very hard to miss. There are multiple levels and something for everyone. I am willing to bet that if you take your time and look around, you will not leave without a find, whether you will be willing to pay for it, it's a whole other discussion. Its fun, creative, notes on price tags will make you laugh and if you chose bot to spend money on your find you can walk away with a pretty epic treats (green aple candy and mountain roast coffee) with a mug to remember your Maine adventures through some winter mornings. Drove past this place a few times and just felt in my soul that we had to stop. Let me preface this with the fact that I'm obsessed with antique stores. But I promise my review isn't clouded with bias, this place was freaking great. The lady who checked us out (I'm assuming the owner?) was super fun & chatty. She gave us some history of the place... a 1920s barn, a 70s dealership, someone lived in the upstairs, and now an antique shop. It's 4 floors of fun tucked into literally every nook and cranny and literally everything is for sale- even the decor you see outdoors and the things you'll find in the bathroom! 1A Relics has around 70 vendors so nothing is the same. Everyone brings their own uniqueness. You'll find new things, vintage things, used things, up-cycled things, handmade with love things, and my personal fav... lots and lots of Maine things. (Also a lover of souvenirs as I travel a lot!!) I cashed out at this place. It was great. I wish I could have bought more but I only have so much room to store things on a motorcycle!!! Another added touch was the guest book at the register- I was sure to sign. So cool seeing where all the customers are from, all over the world really!!
