We don't go here often, mainly for household knick-knack items and when coincidentally nearby, but it is one of my favorite Target locations.

However, in the recent couple of years, I don't know what is wrong with their customer service department. It used to be friendly, polite, and competent. Now, their customer service, especially some of their managers, who are arrogant and unaccommodating, could easily ruin the whole shopping experience. Recently, a couple days before Christmas, my good shopping experience was ruined by the middle-age female staff, named Luba, at the self-checkout stations. Then it was further worsened by her manager Alex. When there was a discrepancy between the scanned price and the price listed on the rack, Luba refused to ask someone to verify the price or honor the posted price. Instead, she insisted the scanned price must be correct and told me that if I did not like the price, I did not have to buy the item. To avoid wasting time, I chose not to purchase one item and paid the higher price for another. At the end, I was supposed to get a gift card from a deal. Nowadays, for security reason, Target would need their staff to put a sticker on the gift card, then scan it to link it to my account. However, after Luba put the sticker on the gift card, she didn't know what to do. She kept scanning the gift card as if I was using it for the transaction. Her action made the purchase system acting weird. Then she questioned if I was eligible for the gift card, and got her boss to help. Her boss was Alex. I had dealt with him numerous of times. He never smiles, acting in a condescending way, had never accommodated. This time, he said that the system had stopped working, and he had to void the whole transaction and re-scan everything. Needless to say, I was not happy. I said it's wasting my time. Then he responded by saying "it's wasting my time too"! I said he got paid for it. The he mumbled something. What kind of attitude was that? He was the customer service manager who needed to correct the mistake made by his staff. When I said the female staff didn't know what she was doing, he dismissed it by saying that Luba usually does not work in that area. That explanation is unacceptable, she was assigned to assist customers at self-checkout and should have been properly trained. It would have been fine if both of them just apologized for my inconvenience, but neither of them did that. No sorry, no thank you, Target really need to re-train their customer service staff of the Glenview store to understand what good customer service is.

I also found a nice bag that I also was thinking about getting. Was suprised that I saw a style that I liked: classic, tailored cut and leather. The cashier introduced me to the silicone spray which at first I thought was a gimmick but I think there is some real benefit to it as it coats. I think it also helps with the structure and shape thus integrity of the shoe. The machine has a camera inside so you can actually see that it is spraying. This is great for some types of shoes. I plan to bring my other pairs, it doesn't have to be bought from DSW.

There is no one really walking around the floor, so you basically have to move heaven and earth to track someone down. Also, there are not enough benches (correct term?) where you try on the shoes. There is one per aisle, at most, and that doesn't work so well when it's busy. Still an issue is the whisper-at-most of AC in this store. Plenty of stores maintain a pleasant temperature - I get it if they don't want the store too cold. But here, it was hot and muggy. I felt more sweaty here than outside! It was so gross, and I didn't think I'd run into that in an indoor location, but oh well. The prices were pretty good, with the exception of the shoes that were not eligible for promotions (that might've come from above, though, like Nike corporate or Addidas corporate, and not their fault at DSW). I saved 20% off an already reasonable price by signing up for their newsletter as a ~*~*VIP~*~. The 20% off being available through that method only should've been communicated better at the outset, but oh well. I saved 20% and got some cool gym shoes, so that's good at least.

I went in today after a long hiatus . upon walking in they always within a minute ask if you need help. i politely always say just browsing . i enjoy shopping alone and like to take my time . After the polite just browsing , if you pick up anything in hand they are. suck like a hawk putting it dressing room. Ok then another item in hand , back again taking it out of hand . It's always the same . sometimes i like to not even try on but i don't bother here bc they grab it . Ok now in 7 min you are approached multiple times . into fitting room , they knock immediately asking if you need something else . i get it maybe soma people like that service but i don't and usually try to politely give the vibe that i just want to shop solo . I usually just want to get out once i am in and don't buy a thing . Today i purchased a shirt but i won't be back . 5-6 women working, 1-2 customers , it just always feels so forced .

This is the closest one to Evanston now that the location in Northbrook closed a few years ago. I…read morelove H&M but sizing and quality can be hit or miss, so I often have to return at least a few things from online ordering. This is a pretty good-sized store and it's well-organized with a good selection. However, returns are kind of annoying (not this location's fault, but H&M's fault as a whole). While I was returning a few items from my online order in store, I noticed something from my order that I had purchased a few days before had gone on clearance. I loved the item so obviously I didn't bring it to the store because I wasn't planning to return it. But, they had the exact same size and color as the one that I had purchased on the floor, and I had my order form with me (because I was returning other stuff). They wouldn't do a price adjustment because it was a clearance item, so instead I rebought the item in-store and then tried to return it with my old receipt. That didn't work, because apparently every individual item has a different SKU, even if they are identical. I've never seen that happen in a store before (especially a fast-fashion store).

I am a social shopper and enjoy building relationships with the individuals I shop with...I walked into Ella Louvi a few weeks ago and was greeted by Grace - the owner herself. Not only did she recommend pieces and bring them to me in the fitting room, but she went into detail on what and how I can wear each piece for different styles and looks. Since that first experience, I have been back to her store every other day picking up items one piece at a time because her items are chic and unique, high quality, and very affordable. I got a smoking hot red jumpsuit for under 100 dollars, unreal! After my next couple visits, I had an email in my inbox from Grace thanking me for shopping with her and that she really enjoys talking to me while I shop, and now we talk almost every day! She keeps me up to date with what she has coming in and when, sends me pictures so I know what I want to try on during my visits ahead of time, and is always willing to put items aside/hold them until I have a chance to come in. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they gave me honest advice to size up on an item I was between sizes on an item and helped recommend where to hem it. In addition, when I also came in on another visit for an online return they processed it very quickly. There was even a line forming and they quickly addressed to get their customers in and out quickly by getting their mobile tools going to check people out. Parking is very easy and looks like there's a nearby Sephora that opened up nearby it, so it looks like they are doing a lot to keep this strip mall current.

It's also a bright, airy, and clean store. It's mostly women customers and I have a feeling they know there are some good deals here, and I agree from what I've seen. I don't personally always buy much of anything, but if the timing were right, I've seen some pretty good values on items like socks, luggage, clothing, local sports team wear, household or kitchen knick-knacks, and even coffee if it's on on sale. I'd say it's a good place to drop in on occasionally and putz around and find items you didn't know you needed and at a good price.
