The ladies who work there are always available to show you how to style a scarf in a way that is incredible and totally foreign to me. On July 12, 2010, I was at Adesso in Highland Park, IL. I asked an employee for the measurements of…read morean item. Rather than removing the item from the table display to properly measure, she tried to hold the tape measure up to the display. She told me it was 60". I got it home and it did not fit. I called within 15 min of making the purchase. The woman then said it was actually 63". I said I had to return the item. She told me I can only return for a store credit! I paid cash, the error was hers, and I don't get my money back??? She said that's the store policy- credit ONLY. I was told I would have to talk to the manager the next day. I decided to properly measure the item myself. It was actually 78"!!! I called Adesso again. I asked the sales-women to repeat the measurements. She said 63". I then told her "I just measured and it is actually 78"!!! "So I assume I can now come in for my refund!" She had the audacity to still say I would have to talk to a manager the next day. I again told her it was her mistake and not mine. She would not budge. After 3 phone calls, about 5 minutes of going back and forth trying to get a refund, she says that her sales associate is telling her they can void out the purchase and I can return it. She made no apologies for their lack of professional conduct or for my aggravation due to her error. I will never shop at Adesso in Highland Park again :) When a business hires idiots - it only reflects on the store directly.

And then, it happens again and again, until one day. That special day you make time and go in, and then kick yourself for not going in sooner - LOL! What an adorable shop with the sweetest business owners. A shop full of gifts and accessories made by local artisans. And, I might add, I'm obsessed with the Jade & Renee line as well. Do you see those sweet dish towels in my photos? Here's why you want to stop in. Because it's a shop where you'll find a little something for everyone on your list. They have baby gifts, toys, lotions, candles, super fun cards, socks with funny sayings and images, dishes, fun kitchen towels, and I know I'm forgetting a million things. You can follow them on instagram where they post adorable lounge outfits (who wears buttons anymore?), home accessories, mother's day gift inspiration.
