For educational purposes, please check other resources I have had young relatives attend this school with good teachers/ experiences Once I came about 10 minutes late to pick up my niece (miscommunication between 220pm versus 230pm ). They call the mom and me ; they had my niece wait by the office with staff and I had to sign in my info in order to take her home. It does show that they care a lot of their students safety. There's multiple playgrounds here for various ages, including the toddlers. My nieces love to play there and it's decently well kept (newer swings, no trash). Also has Large grassy areas too. I walk my dog here on leash so she can run around and play for a bit There's also a back area where there are tables and grill stations to host a picnic by the playgrounds on weekends. We notified the office about the incident and there was nothing they could really do but advised us to buy again on whatever leftover yearbooks that they had which were only 10 copies. My child properly lined up to buy a copy when a group of 8th graders came and cut off all the students who waited patiently. One girl even ended up buying 5. They should've limit 1 copy per student. And whoever teacher was in charge at that yearbook sale should've kept an eye on the line. Such a disorganization and disappointment! Also, this school have kids bullying and intimidating other kids. Parents please choose caution when picking this school for your child/children. I almost wanted to believe that the students of this school improved till this incident happened to us.

Not just academically but also when it comes to kindness, love, care, and character building for all the children modeled by teachers and staff. Even though it is not a religious school, I feel there are more love and compassion in this school more than any other religious place I've been to. Everyone, the principle, teachers, staff, students, fellow parents, all are so caring and making every member of the school feel so special and loved. Children need love! I feel so good dropping Jake's off each day at school and he loves going to school so much! Alexander keeps saying how come Jake's school is so cool and all Jake's teachers love him so much!! They also organize a lot of cool events. They want the children to be well rounded. The school relies heavily on staff and parent volunteers since it does not have much funding and it serves mostly low income students. Yet everyone serves with all their heart !! Aahh.. memories…read more. My old stomping ground. I was a student here from grade K-5th! Had a play date and decided to take the kids here because originally the plan was for them to play basketball; since the courts are suitable for their height (obviously much shorter than the actual courts), I figured this place is the perfect place to introduce my Daughter to the sport. I was in track, orchestra, played basketball, soccer, tetherball, dodgeball, kickball, and football throughout my wonderful 6 years here. My Daughter hasn't really shown much interests in sports but I do hope she gets into one of the above mentioned activities. What I love about this school is the spacious play area.. the playground is of course new and way better than what it used to be a million years ago. The green board for 7-Up (the throwing the blue rubber ball or tennis ball at your ass) is still standing talk and well maintained (clean).. the field is well kept and I love the track for field day. I was always 1st place and the anchor for relay races.. nostalgic memory orgasm!!! There is enough sitting space, shade, and play area to satisfy the kids and ME while I witness them run back and forth, clearly enjoying the weather, the pleasant atmosphere, the cleanliness of the school overall, and the best years of my life all flashing back to me. I love this school.. go Leopards!!!!

Being a PTA Member and a School Site Council member it's only fitting I drop a review. Laneview hasn't changed much from the way you look at it but it has changed over the last 10 years. The school rating score has changed to an 8 from a 6 as it was in the past. This means the school is in an upper class for testing scores and education learning. These tests are done across the district and state. What drove this change was time with new leadership during that time. The school is in a 2nd year leader with a proven principal who is very compassion to students, staff and their learning. Pros: * Staff: They're great and i'm not being bias. When I tell others about the stuff they do I hear "I wish my school did that".. From the front office to teachers and others they're very caring * Scores: As mentioned above the school is an 8 for testing scores which is upper reserved compared to most others in Berryessa and/or San Jose. *Parents: Many volunteer daily, weekly and monthly. From the adult staff out in the walkways to ensure safety, to those helping out after school, PTA Functions/Meetings and School Site Council meetings. The Parents really make it up for a budget shortfall to help fund supplies for teachers/class, field trips, assemblies and others. With only 400/430 kids you'd think they're would be some 100+ Parents, nope. Core group of 20 in total who volunteer and attending meetings to help. THEY NEED MORE! Monthly PTA meetings are 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7-8pm on campus. Please come and attend. School Site council meetings are the hour before which is 6-7pm which is a listen in session with the principal to know more on the budget, lesson plans, etc. You can look up the PTA information from their facebook page "laneview pta" * Playground: The school got a facelift in the playground area with all new gear 2 years ago. The grounds are large for play area with plenty of field area. Off school hours they hose soccer games and others. Cons: * Funding: They don't get much. If it wasn't for being a Title 1 School they'd further behind. A Local measure a few years ago is helping out the the school is set for a mild remodel in classroom later next summer (2017). Solar panels just added. * Facility: Many of the rooms are needing some updates and scheduled to get later in 2017 summer.

The school does not provide sufficient support, or opportunity for kids to do well in their studies. Kids who excel academically will be held back at this school as there are no opportunities for them to further improve or shine. They are given movie time in class, where the kids watch movies/cartoons instead. Some of the teachers tend to give out homework for the sake of giving out homework. Most of the homework is meaningless, time-wasting, with no added value.
