Here is a reply to Mr. Browns accusation on Marsh Run Kennels. I feel the need to reply. Although it is 3 months late this review just came to my attention.
When Griffin was brought to Marsh Run Kennels the first time you stated you had trouble at another kennel he was at. We chose to take Griffin and give him VIP service.
1. When Griffin left here he had some hair missing on his elbows that were so small we didn't even notice them. When you pointed them out we said Griffin chose to lay on the concrete not the bed we provided for him. That is probably what caused the hair loss on the elbows.
2. You contacted us later that day and said while giving Griffin a bath you noticed something on his chin also. DAYS later you contacted us and said he wasn't getting better and that you had read somewhere to use hydrogen peroxide. We told you to stop that IMMEDIATELY! That it will do more harm than good to Griffin.
3. Hydrogen peroxide is caustic. Causing immediate damage to skin and anything else it comes in contact with through a volatile oxidization reaction. There's mounting evidence to suggest that hydrogen peroxide can upset the way wounds heal. This is because they damage and destroy fibroblasts, these important cells help to naturally close up injuries and promote new cell growth. For these reasons many vets now advise against using hydrogen peroxide to clean wounds.
4. We told you it sounds like an allergy.
5. I immediately dropped everything I was doing and came out to look at Griffin. Again, I said it looks like an allergy, plus the damage of the peroxide. I again, told you to take him to the vet.
6. After you took him to the vet and sent me the bill I asked for a report.. You told us the vet said it came from dirty bowls....
7. Upon receipt of the report I saw that it was stated that Griffin has, as per the report, "canine acne" and "malassezia (yeast) dermatitis. Which can come from an underlying allergy or endocrine disease, ie.. hypothroidism. Labrador Retrievers are predisposed to this condition.
8. You were not contacted by us while Griffin was here because as I said, the small amount of hair missing on his elbows were not noticeable. The pictures you are showing are what happened to Griffin after he left our facility, days later, and after you used peroxide. You picked him up on Thursday and these pictures are from Sunday.
9. As far as our kennel not being clean, we are inspected not less than twice a year. In fact we were inspected while Griffin was here and passed our inspection. As I have already informed you.
10. You say it is not 100% proven that it did not happen here at our kennels, that also means you can't prove it did, seriously, it's an allergy. If I go to a restaurant and eat something and have an allergic reaction, it is not the restaurants fault. It is what it is.,
11. Those pictures you are showing everyone make it look like the dog left here looking like that. That is far from the truth and I have pictures showing what he looked like when he was here. These occurred after you used peroxide.
12. You say we never harmed your dog intentionally, yet you call it abuse.
13. I did not just contact my regular vet, I contacted the vet that you sent me the receipt and reports from. If you went to 2 other vets, we have no knowledge of that. ,
14. During our last conversation we told you to bring Griffin out and come and talk to us in person. You did not.
15. We use no pesticides. We use dawn dish soap to clean the kennels and bowls and we use Simple green also to clean kennels.
16. We are sorry Griffin has gone through this and we are glad to hear the meds are working and he is on the mend. read more
