Between my husband and I, there have been countless healthy pet visits for vaccinations, sick pet visits, surgery, etc. Everyone in this practice has always been friendly and compassionate, prices are fair, communication has been great, and I have been confident my pets have received excellent medical care. I actually live on the other side of town now and continue to make the drive because I am confident in the care my animals receive. I want to give an extra mention to Dr. Elena. We were in recently for vaccinations and she found a concerning mass. 5 days later, she removed it and a biopsy confirmed it to be an aggressive cancer (Hemangiosarcoma). Because of Dr. Elena's thorough exam of my girl and quick response, we have been able to address her health concerns before it was too late. I will forever be thankful to her for that. Was surgery cheap? Nope! But, I wouldn't expect surgery to be. I do believe their prices are fair. All in all, the thorough care this doctor provided made us aware of my girls health concerns and gave us options to help her through it. I highly recommend them!

He's practical--not the type that will want you to go through expensive treatments for a senior pet that probably won't work anyway. One of my cats had abdominal cancer, but he told me that, at 15, surgery wasn't an option. He put my cat on steroid shots that gave him four more months of quality time and gave me time to prepare for the end. Another senior cat had a nasal tumor that was too close to his eye to operate. A friend of mine had the same situation with her senior cat and spent over $10K on treatments that made him miserable and disintegrated his nasal structure so that he couldn't breathe, and he only lasted a few agonizing months in the end. It's not that I wouldn't pay for treatment that had a good chance of giving my pet a longer pain-free life. I just appreciate Dr. Pinney being honest and reasonable instead of pushing the most extreme and expensive options. The staff has always been kind and polite as well.

When I went back for the checkup, again I was overcharged and was prescribed the same medication that wasn't effective the first time. I had to take my dog to an animal clinic to get the ear infection cleared up, spending a total of over $1300. I have since changed Vets, and was charged less than $100 for a new visit with two vaccines. My advice is, make good choices and ask questions, even if you trusted them in the past.
