We love our dog we bought from Kristi in August 2020. The training, temperament and behavior with children and adults are all excellent. I have never owned a dog that was so easy to train. We have had labs over the last 40 years, but none could measure up to the lab we got from Sideling.

I am considering purchasing a lab puppy from Sideling Hill Labradors and was wondering if anyone could provide information on their experience, good and/or bad. Do the puppies come with AKC registration, are the puppies truly English labs?

Yes If they say it is an English Lab then it is . They raise a variety of colors and styles. Show, Pet and working dogs. They also have partnered with other breeders for quality Dames and Sires.… Read more

During Raina's first night we noticed she developed a cough, so I gave Kristi the update and we took her to the vet.

I recently bought a peke from Triple 1pekes on 08/02/20/5 to be exact. On the way home the puppy…read morevomited. I thought it was from motion sickness as we were driving back to NY. I didn't look at the content, I was grossed out and just cleaned it up. We got home Gail told us that the poppy may have a pot appetite to give him a mixture of the kibble she supplied and moist Caesar's she also supplied. I did that, but our peke didn't show much interest. He did like the jerky treats he received for pee pad rewards, but that didn't last either. As the days went buy our peke was becoming more lethargic, and not eating. I bought some Beneful moist puppy food hoping he'd eat that. He did like it at first, but then he didn't want that anymore either. I thought he's very picky. He pooped only three times and it was orange in color and soft. I was thinking why? I noticed he started not playing anymore, just laying around. He had another bout of emesis which looked like gastric juice with white stuff in it. The said We're ringing him to the vet if he doesn't eat in the morning.. he didn't eat. He drank all the time and peed , but stopped eating. We brought him to the vet and did labs on him telling me he needed to be hospitalized ASAP. That he was very sick. He was check for Addisons disease because he had a low cortisol level? He had low red cells and a bunch of other lows. He's electrolytes were way off. Do he was in the hospital for nearly two days and received a GI TUBE through his nose so the vet could get fluid removed from his belly to be able to do an ultra sound. Upon getting that fluids were WORMS. He had WORMS. The worms were taking all his nutrition, which was why he was lethargic , had loose stools, emesis, and no appetite. He was treats and sent home. The next morning he still wasn't eating . I called the vet to get an appetite stimulant and they told me to bring him back in if he still isn't eating. I had appt at 11am . I went to work and back home at 10am to pick him up . He was practically unconscious . So weak he could t hold his head up or stand. I too him so fast the vet. Thank hod they're tight around the corner . They took him ASAP. His blood sugar dropped and his body temp was only 95. He was critical . They put karosyrup in his mouth on his gums and hit up his sugar They put a warming blanket on him to keep him warm, but could not get a catheter in his paw because his veins collapsed. They then sent him back to the hospital to see the GI specialist. The Dr. did a full out exam checked him for everything they could think of.. to find out he HAS a TAPEWORM! The tapeworm was causing all these problems that he got from his mother. The vet explained that breeders don't deworm for tapeworm, only hook and round worm. That tapeworms are inherited from the mother when she was pregnant with him. this is why his appetite was poor and he was puking on the way back to my house, had loose stool, increased lethargy, I bought a sick puppy. My pilot is now on the hospital with a GI tube in his nose to get fed, get med. Etc. I'm faced with an enormous medical bill of $10k. This breeder also told me that upon registering him with the AKC he came with a 30day free pet insurance. Well what she failed to research was the fact that I live in NYS. NY opted out of the free 30 day pet insurance program. So when I contacted AKC to put a claim in. They then told me this. Had known I could have bought other insurance sooner. I then bought Fetch pet insurance even though it wasn't gonna help the current bill, I'd have it moving forward. The most recent o Duran e that took place today fetch will cover 70% of the $4500.00 bill I'm facing. I contacted the breeder.. she tried blaming his illness on the water we drink. I said there is nothing wrong with our water. She said we should be giving him bottled water. I said our water is filtered. We have a water filtering system in our house that is what's in bottled water. She kept going on about the water and that none of her other puppies were sick etc. I said well I got the sick one! She made no claims of helping with the medical expenses , we paid $180".00 for him had him less than two weeks and are now in debt of $10k in medical expenses.

I wanted to address some of the things the owner said to my husband and me yesterday…read more She implied that I was lying on Sammy's ( my Yorkie's) intake papers. I do take offense at this. I reread what I had written on the papers. I do not lie. The information was accurate. Sammy is a 5 1/2 pound - 1 1/2 year old Yorkie. The owner complained that Sammy was digging when left outside alone. (Yorkies like to dig in the dirt!) The owner commented that my puppy didn't like to be alone. On the paper I wrote he is very friendly. She was not at all sympathetic; that we had recently lost our beloved eight-year old Yorkie, Dundee, Sammy's best friend about a month ago.) Due to that, yes, I agreed with the owner, Sammy does not like to be alone. I do not find this as a fault, but rather an endearing quality. We were appalled that the owner would put a 5 1/2 pound Yorkie in an open field/pen with no covering without any regard to possible hawks. This is unacceptable. Has she not ever seen a hawk swoop down and pick up a small animal? It happens very quickly! So no, Sammy has never been left outside alone nor should he be. And finally the owner added that our puppy was not welcome back to Chateau Barkingham kennel. This was a bit beside the point because in our minds, we already had decided he would never be brought back to this establishment. The owner is not at all versed in dealing with puppies or very small dogs. When we returned home we talked to Sammy's Veterinarian. Our Vet was shocked at the "faults" found in Sammy. All ridiculous. Best of luck with your business, but don't expect any positive reviews to your kennel from us!

My poodle came back brushed (not sure how managed that one) and my very anxious dogs came back untraumatized by the whole thing. The kennels are pretty big, it is indoors and they are small rooms with TVs, seriously. But she gives them outdoor time to be dogs. It is very out in the middle of nowhere, but that just means it is quieter. The owner is way in to the dog whisperer school of dog obedience, I am clearly not...but if she wants to fight the inevitable, more power to her. Every time we go on vacation, this is the first call we make.
