(to no fault at all of NorthPaws - to make that very clear) I knew what we were going there for and that he would not be coming home with me... With that being said : I never met a more caring staff. Every step of the way - I had a nice person around the corner. My time preparing myself was not easy - I tried to convince myself that maybe I wasn't doing the right thing... and I sat there for what seemed like forever holding him - crying... and I heard a light knock on the door... it was the vet... she came to answer any questions I had ... She spoke in such a kind and caring way... she sat with me and explained everything I needed to hear in such a calm quiet voice. It just honestly showed me how much she cared about her patients and the owners no matter how long you have been with them. This had only been the first time I met her and she treated me like we had been life long friends and her heart was breaking along with mine... and I can't thank them enough... I needed a place like this... especially during this... and I couldn't have made a better decision... THANK YOU NORTHPAWS ANIMAL HOSPITAL - and Thank you for the sweet card as well... I just wanted to make sure I left a review for them... People are so quick to leave negative reviews - I feel like amazing reviews are hard to come by... but this place - please give them a try!

I was not sure when the right time was and my heart was breaking knowing he was going to leave me. Dr Lou discussed with me what to look for to make that decision. When I did, he assured me that when he got here if we talked and I could not move forward it was my choice. It was time for Mustafa, and Dr Lou was wonderful and doing it in the home was the best for Mustafa and me. Also afterwards, when my other cat Niki jumped up to say goodbye and cuddled with him Dr Lou suggested I give them time together and if I liked he would come back in several hours- which he did to take Mustafa for me. I cannot say enough good things about Dr Lou ; when it is time for you to release your fur family member; call him.

I'd have HAPPILY driven to the facility to retrieve them if given the option- which I was not. The thought of him in the back of the truck all day, bouncing around with people's online shopping orders made me sick. Then I get the ashes, and when I went to take 1/4 tsp to send away for memorial jewelry, it was nearly impossible to get 1/4 tsp of smooth ash as the container is FULL OF BIG BONE fragments! I cannot believe how lazy and uncaring this company is. Utterly heartbreaking experience. EDIT: I would like to note that a manager has called, twice, and offered a refund, additional mementos and to reprocess. I explained she had multiple physical problems, arthritis, weak hind legs and nervous incontinence before we scheduled the visit. Kara said that she had a lot of difficulty getting it done, and would not be able to continue helping Cami, and tacked an additional $50 onto the bill which I paid. Unfortunately, it turned out that Cami had cancer and tumors on her spleen and is now deceased as of a few weeks ago. Perhaps if Cami had been a smaller dog, it would not have been such a difficult process to get done.
