I found Katrina from Married to Massage via reading Reddit threads about TMJ massage. I had also read about how intense it could be, so I had an idea of what I was getting myself into. It was very easy to book a massage online and pay via Vagaro. Apparently it is a new system that Katrina is using. I selected a 60 minute TMJ massage which is really a 50 minute full body massage with 10 minutes dedicated to the TMJ because it is so intense. I received emails to confirm my appointment, as well as some helpful tips, such as there being free parking right in front of the building (it is a tiny lot). Initially we had parked on the street but read our email for that parking lot detail. I had arrived about 10-15 minutes earlier than my appointment, but Katrina saw I was outside, so she welcomed me in. The massage place is pretty small and is a cozy setup, so it's requested that you ring the doorbell to be let in. When I walked in, to the left is the massage room. There was also a bathroom in the back, but I'm not sure what the other space is for. Katrina reviewed my massage preferences (filled out online ahead of time) including pressure level. She also asked if I had ever had a TMJ massage before, as it is described as intense. Katrina seemed to know the areas I was tense in and put in a lot of work for those areas. Once the full body massage was completed, she asked if I was ready for TMJ massage. She advised to breathe through the massage. Basically she applied pressure to each side of the upper jaw three times (which is typical if it is tolerated, but she can also do two times if it is not as tolerated) with gloved hands. I would say it is a very solid 7/10 pain, and she said it was good that I didn't cry, scream, or bite haha. I will admit that I had some involuntary tears, but it was not much really. It was painful, but it was a good kind of pain, as I felt my jaw relaxed in a way that I hadn't felt before. She made sure to check in with me to see if it was ok to keep going. She also made sure that the muscles surrounding the jaws didn't tense up as she was doing the TMJ massage, as it is all interconnected. I felt like there was a bit of "tearing" on the inside of the upper jaw (between the gum and cheek) where she applied pressure...I probably had some sort of scar tissue or something there to begin with that was loosened up. She advised to also apply a warm compress if I was really sore afterwards. I felt a bit of post massage soreness, and I can say that several days after having TMJ massage, I still feel my jaw is pretty relaxed. Overall, Katrina did great work on my TMJ and she was very friendly, easy to talk to, and did a wonderful job of explaining the process. I'm sure she explains TMJ massage a million times before, but she was so patient in doing so for me. I would highly recommend Katrina from Married to Massage! read more

I absolutely love getting massaged here! The atmosphere is great, it's comfortable and relaxing. I have gotten numerous types of massages here and they were all fantastic. The TMJ relief massage is worth it if you are experiencing tight jaw muscles. read more

I have had TMJ issues and found Katrina on Google. Decided to try the TMJ massage. It was intense but just what I needed for my tight jaw muscles. She is very skilled and knowledgeable. The booking process on her site was easy as was payment. I liked that I can use my HSA. I went back for a few sessions and will continue as I feel it helps. I also tried the hot stone massage - very relaxing. Thank you read more

Katrina provided the massage I've ever had, hands-down (ha!). I like very firm pressure during bodywork, and she didn't disappoint in that regard. When I arrived, Katrina asked questions about the areas in which I had pain or tightness, and focused on those spots, though not to the exclusion of other areas. She released knots I didn't even know I had! In addition, I've struggled with TMJ issues from jaw clenching for a long time. Katrina performed intra-oral muscle work that made my jaw feel less "clenched" than it has in years and that stopped the "popping" that happened almost every time I opened my mouth. I had no idea that this kind of massage was a "thing," and while it wasn't pleasant (Katrina warned me about this part of the massage in advance and checked in with me throughout to see if I needed to take a break or stop), it was incredibly effective. Combined with the heavenly "regular" massage, I feel physically better and more relaxed than I have in a long time. I'll definitely go back to Katrina at Married to Massage when life and stress start to take a physical toll again! read more

At first I was skeptical of all the good reviews but Katrina is the real deal. Booking online is super easy, and you get a reminder text and email which is nice. This place has a parking lot which is rarely the case in midtown. The building is tucked away from the street, it's right before Antique Midtown, the beautiful building with stained glass. I hold a lot of tension in my shoulders and my neck. and I almost asked Katrina to use more pressure but I'm so glad I didn't, I was so sore the next day. But sore in the good way where all the tension was worked out. I've had massages before where masseuse used a lot of pressure to get the kinks out, it isn't as relaxing because it sort of hurts. That was not the case with Katrina. It didn't feel like she was using a ton of pressure but she definitely did some work because I felt it the next day. I felt so much better and lighter after my massage. I'm looking forward to booking with her again. read more

Absolutely incredible!! The best massage I've ever had. Very kind. Clean room and easy parking. Will use again.

I'm went for a TMJ and full body massage with Katrina. This was hands down the best massage I have ever had. The studio is clean and welcoming. Katrina is professional, attentive and really listened to my needs. She communicated to ensure she was using the right amount of pressure, which she was. I left feeling so much better. I can't wait to go back. read more

Married to Massage, a small business owned by the lovely "Katerina", offers an array of massage choices and techniques catering to your comfort and needs. Located in the Sacramento midtown area, she has a beautiful massage space, that is calm and exceptionally clean. The ambiance is relaxing, the music low, and the table comfortable. Katerina is an extremely knowledgeable massage therapist: She was quick to find my pressure points and tight muscles, and put me at ease. I had not received a massage in a few years, so I chose a 90 minute visit- it felt indulgent and relaxing and eased much of my tension. So worth it!!! Her professionalism is top-notch, and your comfort level is taken into consideration. Health concerns are taken seriously, (super clean and masked) and I felt safe in her hands. It is truly a wonderful and relaxing experience! Scheduling is super easy - you can book an appointment and pre-pay online. Note: There is a parking lot for off-street free parking, love that. read more

Katrina is the answer to my need for a new massage therapist since, unfortunately, my former massage therapy business needed to close down when the pandemic hit. My search and needing to read reviews for a massage therapist stop here! Katrina made me feel welcomed and comfortable, starting with greeting me and opening the door for me as soon as I arrived! The calming, peaceful vibe filled me right when I entered the massage room. Everything about the massage room is perfect for relaxation and peace. Katrina worked on my neck, shoulders and legs just the way my body needed! Her relaxation massage session went above and beyond any of my expectations. I look forward to trying out other services in the near future! It is evident how much Katrina cares about her clients. I am extremely happy to have found Katrina and Married to Massage! read more

I bought a gift for my husband, who is a triathlete with very sore muscles. He's completed 10 IronMan triathlons. He said it took over 2 months to schedule an appointment. Then he said he asked for a medium to gentle massage. Apparently she felt his muscles needed ripping apart. He was in severe pain for days. Never again! read more

After reading great reviews about Katrina, I had to experience it for myself. I am 6 months pregnant and had a wonderful prenatal massage. She hit my target areas (back and legs) and it was one of the best massages I've ever had. Definitely returning and would recommend for anyone seeking a stress relieving experience. read more

I saw Katrina on Saturday 7/30 for a Full body massage with a TMJ massage add on since I've been suffering with it for quite a while. Katrina made me feel very relaxed and in fact I actually fell asleep for a bit which never happens to me during a massage. The TMJ portion was intense but an instant relief. I finally am pain free for the first time in a very long time. I know I will need to keep up with the massages for my TMJ, so I will definitely be returning! I highly recommend seeing Katrina for any massage service! She's fabulous. read more

Katrina was so incredibly kind and welcoming. Her positive energy and peaceful space made me feel super comfy and calm. It was my first massage and I have scoliosis so I wanted to make sure the person massaging me is careful around my spine, while being able to work out the deep knots I have in my back, which is exactly what I got! She was very intuitive and diligent. I didn't know that much pain relief was possible. Can't wait to come back :) read more

Had a TMJ massage and highly recommend. It was my first time having an intro-oral massage so I wasn't sure what to expect. But it relieved a lot of tension and tightness. It also included some shoulder and neck massaging which was amazing. I'll definitely be booking a full body massage soon! read more

So good! My wife had come here for a couple prenatal massages and had a very good experience, so I booked 60 minutes for fathers day. Katrina is clearly very skilled. Far from a generic going-through-the-motions massage, you can tell she's feeling out tension points and other issues as she goes. The result is about as effective and relaxing as you could hope. The simple but perfectly comfortable space and convenient location are a nice bonus and I'll definitely be back. read more

One of the best deep tissue massages ever! Katrina is incredible and listens to your needs to address all your aches and pains. Some deep tissue massages don't feel like they "worked" but I actually felt a real change after seeing Katrina. I highly recommend! read more

Best sports/deep tissue massage iv'e had in Sacramento. Katrina is amazing!!!

I'm so glad I found Katrina! She's fantastic! I have chronic shoulder/neck pain and after a massage by Katrina I always feel like I have a brand new body. It is magical to stand up after the session and realize I no longer have any aches, pains or pinched nerves. She also helped me through some severe hip pain I was having after the birth of my second baby. Every day I was living with pain in my left hip (from holding the baby/toddler on that side I think). I was having trouble walking, exercising, even sleeping ... because the burning pain would wake me up in the night. It was constant and no amount of stretching would help. I couldn't run or jog at all for over a year. I thought the burning pain was permanent and I would never be able to heal it. I finally came in for an appointment and mentioned it to her. She did deep tissue work in my hip/leg area (it was moderately painful) but the relief afterward was instantaneous! She told me I had muscle knots everywhere under my hip and up the side of my leg. Once the knots were massaged out, the pain has been gone and hasn't returned. I can run, walk, sleep again! Thank you Katrina! Other pros to seeing Katrina (if the testimonials aren't enough!) * Very easy to park in the lot right next to her studio * Her studio is always very clean and tidy! * Her massage room is comforting and inviting. The massage table is so comfortable -- it feels like being on a fancy memory foam mattress. * Very easy to book appointments using her website * Katrina is so easy to talk to and friendly! read more

THE BEST. Deep tissue is amazing, I always feel so great afterwards for weeks. I would not look anywhere else - she is so talented. The only problem is when I go on vacation and get a massage it never compares to married to massage! Highly recommend. read more

I've been going to Katrina for many years now, even after I moved from the midtown area many years ago. Katrina is the type of massage therapist that is truly a master of her craft and once you find her you will continue to go back again and again. It's refreshing that an hour massage actually means an hour (or whatever duration you've chosen) and you're not made to feel rushed or shorted on time, like so many other places. The studio space is nice, quiet, clean and has a private parking lot, definitely a perk in midtown. If you're looking for a great place, look no further and book your appointment! read more

I've been fortunate to have a lot of massages in my life. Well over 100. Katrina was simply excellent, start to finish. Her studio is quite warm and inviting, and she is a true professional. She rode the fine line between a relaxing but productive massage in a manner that very few practitioners can. I walked away very impressed, and will most definitely be back! read more

I went looking for a great prenatal massage and I found it! Katrina is so careful, cautious, and consistent! I got the Groupon price and it was so worth it. Katrina is nice, made me feel comfortable and got me in on a cancellation the very next day. The best part of the massage was at the end when she used hot stones on my legs and wrapped feet in hot towels. Use of essential oils was nice. She didn't rush through the massage like some therapists do, when you get the feeling they are looking at the clock; that wasn't my experience here. Katrina also gave me a $20 off discount for next time. read more

Katrina was excellent and professional. I went in for a deep tissue massage as I have an unholy trinity of stress factors: I play computer games, I work on a computer for a living, and I drive a manual car. She was able to go right to the trouble spots (shoulders, left quadricep, forearms) and sort out all the damage I had been doing. I will definitely reschedule! read more

Wow "Douglas R."...I question the validity of your review. That does not make any sense at all. I visited here recently on business for the weekend and Katrina was more than fair to me and my husband of different ethnicity with no questions or concerns whatsoever. We got in immediately and she was extremely professional and had a very healing touch!! Very personable and customer oriented in my opinion! We will most certainly be seeing her again when we return to CA for business in the future! read more

Loved this place, comfortable and Katrina is so sweet! Accidentally came in on the wrong day but was able to take me in. Had complained of a lot of knots and tension in my shoulders and upper back.
