We hired Marquez to re-do our front gate after a botched job that was done by an awful company. Fabrication for our metal frame, which was powder coated, took about 3 weeks and they installed it two days after fabrication was complete. Installation was one full day. The workers and the boss, David are professional and easy to communicate with. They cleaned up their mess and were respectful of our property. David is very knowledgeable with gates and provided helpful input when we were going over details like hinge types and adjustability for our sloped driveway. Their pricing was fair and I feel like we got a quality product for what we paid for. I will call them back for any other gate on our property. read more

Not only did they come and provide the quote quickly but were professional from start to finish. The quality of welds and powder coat were awesome and the install was also a breeze. We had Marquez Iron Work come and do a large gate with synthetic (trex) planks, and some iron fencing for our yard. When they came out to lay the foundation for the fence and set the concrete, they did a very sloppy job, but we were told not to worry, that they would clean it up when they came to do the fence install. Well, you can probably guess, but they didn't. We had to call and complain, and they said "Oh, we're not concrete experts" and "You didn't specify you wanted it to be finished" - not that offered us that service when they quoted it, or told us it would cost extra to have the footings not look like giant sloppy puddles of cement. Or that they would be cementing over a sprinkler. They did finally agree to fixing them up, and they look acceptable now, though not great. Be aware that "They are not concrete experts" and rather than digging out and using forms or even making the holes square, they just pour oversized sloppy puddles into crudely dug holes - so you might want to specify something different in the contract. Also, they used "Decking" grade Trex for the gate, which is only finished on one side - so the back of the panels (visible from inside the gate) is a hideous grey plastic color. We ended up taking the thing apart ourselves and painting it so it doesn't look nasty from the inside, but that was a couple hours of work and paint we didn't really expect. Oh, and less than a month later, the iron was rusting in multiple places. To be fair, they did come out and spray it again, but definitely wasn't quality work. read more

I had a great experience with Marquez Iron Works from start to finish. They completed 3 projects for us: a double iron gate, decorative iron fence repair and a custom gate. Jose came out to our house and was respectful and responsive to all of our questions. He was overly patient as we went back and forth on our gate specifications as we had too many people living at our home with differing opinions on styling, color and features. He had great suggestions to make our project a success and created multiple estimates for the same project so that we could choose the best option for us. They were able to repair an old rusted out decorative piece of fencing which most companies wouldn't touch. And for one of the gates, I wanted to build the connecting fence myself and Jose spent the time to give advice on how best to do that and even built the gate to match the fence I was going to build. I have never built a fence before but I have always wanted to learn and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to practice so that I can better care for my home and the animals that live here and I appreciated the patience and understanding shown to me by Jose and the installers on this front. Once the pieces were fabricated, they were able to come out for the install the next day. The installation crew were also very patient and respectful. They showed up early and reconfirmed with me the various projects to ensure there were no mistakes. They even did extra work on the decorative fence that wasn't in the estimate just to make sure it was safe and looked perfect. They helped me finish digging the hole for my fence and helped set the first post and answered my fence building questions and gave excellent advice. All three projects are beautiful and installed correctly. We previously had vinyl fence contractors out to give us an estimate for similar gate and fencing and not only was it more expensive than what Marquez offered, they wouldn't touch fencing that they hadn't installed, we're unable to fill custom orders and overall gave a much poorer impression. this company used the cheapest material on their iron work, I bought from them a side entrance gate and the paint start pealing from the first rain we got this year, I was told that they used a quality paint, but it seems to me that they used the cheapest paint. the gate was installed on 9/14/2022 not even a year and this gate it begins to look ugly. customers, please pay closer attention to this review before you waste your money with this business. read more

I requested a quote from Jose in June 202O. He arrived promptly and gave me a thorough estimate and had photos of samples saying it was 4 to 6 weeks for delivery and installation. Four weeks later Eva called me to schedule installation. David arrived 8:30 in the morning and took one hour to install the gates. The gates needed to be self closing for inspection by the city for pool regulations. The day before the inspection the gates were not self closing when the wind was blowing and it would not pass inspection the next day. I texted David 7 PM and at 8:30 AM the next morning had Ralph and Raul out here to repair the spring one hour before the inspector arrived. I got his fence installed close to a year ago- back in July my fence had trouble closing- i called and was told someone would be giving me a call to come down and check it out. Nothing. So i fixed it myself Still the problem continues- i call again and was reassured someone would come down ...again NOTHING. Poor customer service fellas! The fence is nice (not powder coated like i was told it would be) but seriously your products should work or you should at least make an attempt to reach your customers after your jobs complete if they try to reach out to you. This is my first yelp review. I called Marquez Iron Works to have three gates built. One pedestrian gate near the front of the garage, another that included a panel off of a cinder block wall that would stabilize the gate that was attached to the house wall near the back of the house, and then one for the walls surrounding my pool equipment. I had been receiving quotes that were either to high or could not fit into my four week time frame for installation. Jose from Marquez came out and measured and drew detailed diagrams of each gate. The installation was going well on the scheduled day and the front gate and pool equipment gate were installed perfectly, when it came to the gate with the panel the crew drilled down to put the post in for the panel and hit a sprinkler hidden under concrete. Work was suspended until Raul could come out and reroute my sprinkler pipe. Raul and Ralph are amazing and finished the job which was difficult as they had to connect two different types of pvc pipe. They installed the panel and gate. Get this: My husband and I noticed that water was accumulated under the cinder block that they had just concreted in, so I called them again. Raul and Ralph came out again, redid the pipe and concrete and cinder block again and now, no leak. Wow! This company blows me away with their customer service. Found them in the yellow pages and got a same day estimate with a rep coming out to my home, measuring and making suggestions for the design of the gates that would coordinate with the facade and style our our home. I contacted 2 other companies who couldn't be bothered to send out a rep, they wanted me to take measurements and then to email them photos of my present gate and pictures of what I wanted. Gee should I drive around the neighborhood looking for gates to take pictures of for them too? It took another day to get estimates returned by email. Both of which were greater that 20% greater in costs. Marquez stated it would take one week to manufacture and 2 hours to install. Exactly one week later the gates were installed and the locks that I provided were installed and their workman was able to set the key lock to match our other door key even. Quality, value, and a human service call all add up to a 5 star rating. read more

Jose came out and gave me a bid the day after we called. He listened to what I was looking for, and gave me multiple options. It came out to a great price. After I accepted their bid, his guys were out to install the posts within a few days. The timeline given was 3-5 weeks and they installed it just shy of 5 weeks. Which is fine. While they did a great job fabricating the fence and gate and installing it, I can't say much about their customer service. In transit, one panel rubbed against another, and the powder coating rubbed off in some spots. No harm, no foul. I gave Jose a call and he informed me that he'd send a guy out to touch it up. Nobody ever came, no call. Silence. I called back and left a message on the answering machine. Nobody came. No call. Silence. I called again and spoke to the receptionist who assured me that Jose would get my message. Nobody came. No call. Silence. I love the fence and gate that was installed, I don't appreciate getting left in the cold. I recommend their work, I'd just caution you to make sure everything is perfect before you pay.
