After a reasonable quote to repair recent wind damage, 2 guys came out at the scheduled time and spent the day installing and cementing 10 metal poles to brace all of the 4x4's on our north fence. They did a great job and cleaned and raked up all the debris left behind. Also repaired a falling lattice panel in another section. Mr Villa came out to give me a quote on a chainlink fence gate and fence repair. He came out as scheduled and provided me with a quote. I asked when he would be able to start the job and how long it would take. He said that he was busy completing jobs and it would be a month before he could start and the job would take a few days. I contacted him a few days later to start. He continued to push back the start date, blaming the recent rain and his busy schedule. I spoke to him and He finally gave me a general start date, but that's the final contact that he provided. No follow up, no contact. Obviously for me, he was big on promises and failed on follow up and action. If he was too busy to do the job - it was a $4500 job - then he shouldn't have promised to do it and lied. I'm not sure about these high ratings, I suppose he might do good work if he actually shows up to do the work - I certainly wouldn't use this company or Mr Villa - he's been unreliable and failed to live up to these ratings that he received I finally got a handyman to complete a part of the job - I wouldn't give Mr Villa the work even if he apologized for his lack of follow up read more

We had desperately been needing a new fence and gate on the side of our house. The wood one that had been there since before we bought the house was falling apart with broken off wood and exposed nails. We'd had several quotes over the years but they were always very high due to needing an extra-wide gate for the space, requiring fully customized fabrication. Fence 'R' Us provided reasonable priced quotes for both wood and wrought iron options and we went with the latter. The wrought iron was a few hundred dollars more than the wood option (including the decorative pieces on top), but we expect it will last far longer than a heavy wood one would have. I can't speak about their work, because I chose not to work with them, but I can speak of the owner's behavior. I'm choosing not to work with this company solely because of his behavior. I called and made an appointment for 2PM and scheduled my entire day around this appointment. Around 10AM, while running errands, I got a call from the owner asking if he could come to the house now. I explained I wasn't home and wouldn't be unitl the scheduled appointment. He then asked if I had the measurements of the fence I wanted so he could just give me a quote over the phone instead of coming. I explained that I was driving and didn't have the measurements to give him. He asked me to call him when I have the measurements so he could give me the quote over the phone. I told him, again, that I didn't have the measurements and wouldn't have them until I went home in time for the appointment. I asked him if this meant he wasn't willing to make the appointment. After a bit of hesitation, he said he'd make the 2PM appointment. He came, was clearly annoyed to be there (in his defence, I was 5 minutes late getting home), reluctantly did the measurements, told me what he was willing to do and not do ("the only wood fence I will do is dog ears. That's it", no motor on the gate, won't go higher than 6ft, and won't be responsible for the permits), and wrote his offer on the back of his flyer and handed it to me. I was glad to watch him leave and will certainly not ever recommend his company to anyone. For the amount of money I am going to have to spend on my fence (his quote was $11,000), I'd be a fool to give it to a person who chooses to be so disrespectful. read more
