Ok, here's the deal... this place has been there since the 30's and they seemingly haven't raised…read morethe prices since. It's conveniently half a block from the K&A stop on the El, although parking is never an issue. They have the old coin meters and a quarter gets much more time out there... wanna say it's at least a half hour... maybe more. No change? Just park two blocks away on Allegheny. Tribe would be happy... they come brown, yellow, Puerto Rican or Haitian... and caucasion. AKA... it's a mix of folks in here. * $.75 Potato Salad. * $3.75 Roast Beef & Cheese on a steak roll. Get this... it is seriously good. * $3.75 Cheesesteak. It's a solid steak. American cheese, finely diced thoroughly sauteed onions... extra greasy goodness... not the best, but better than the tourist factories. * $2.25 Hot sausage. It's a quality kick-ass link that fills out a steak roll. * $1.75 Cheeseburgers. * $1.25 mugs of Lager, etc... you get the picture. They have at least 6 or 7 bottles of 1960 Old Hickory Bourbon (made down by Packer & Delaware Ave back in the day) that they sell for $7 a pour. Yes... $7 A POUR!!! I am not a bourbon guy, but, at $7 for a 60 year old (actually only aged 10 years... + 50 in bottle, ha), I had to try it. Yo!!! It was smooth, refined... I guess I do like some bourbons. Or just get your Wild Irish Rose on, yes, lol... it's there. Bottom line... this dive is seriously one of the best ever. PS... Peep the pic hanging up from 1935 and ask the bartender what happened to the stairwell.

The bad news: the last time I reviewed this spot was over 5 years ago!…read more The great news: IT HAS JUST GOTTEN BETTER! Admittedly, when we used to go, it was during a time we could only really sit outside and enjoy our bevs, or take them to go, and NOW we get to bask in the warm lighting, the INCREDIBLE soundtrack, and the perfect energy of the staff, so I think it's about time to re-review. Four Humours is the place I'd take a date (in fact, I did bring my husband last night), a girlfriend, a group getting ready to hit the town, OR for a night cap. it's so versatile - it can be whatever you need it to be. Like the Room of Requirement, only boozier. The crew gets SO creative with their cocktails - we've sipped on ones featuring pho-infused agave, chicken schmaltz-washed bourbon, carrot and pineapple foam, pandan - and they're always switching it up seasonally and I can not WAIT to find out what's coming this fall. Cocktails range from $15-20, pretty similar to most of the neighborhood, but they are STRONG. I started buzzing after 2 the last time I went. I love this for the jump-off to a night out or, as a mother of 3 who's hustling home for the babysitter, a one-stop shop. Added bonus: you can order food delivered to the bar! Pro-tip, if you get pizza share with the bartenders. If you order South Sichuan you just might melt from the SPICE level. No matter what you're doing with the night, you're gonna have a great time AND a few great bevs!

Omg great drinks BUT The service was glacial…read more Make the drinks faster * Great use of space

I'm man enough to admit that I was a little concerned about how the Kensington Pub crowd would…read morereact to a guy carrying a Jennifer Aniston mannequin. Those concerns were quickly put to rest. The couple behind us even asked to take a picture with Jennifer. This place is great. I think most of the action happens out back in "The Zoo," and it's an awesome outdoor space with something for everyone. Whether you're looking to grab a drink, hang out with friends, or just enjoy the atmosphere, Kensington Pub delivers. The cheesesteak is only $11 and comes with a pickle. You know I love that. Looking at the pictures, the cheesesteak may not have been the star of the Kensington Pub show, but it definitely held its own. The roll had a ton of flavor and was one of the highlights. The cheese was tucked underneath the meat, but it was perfectly melted and there was plenty of it. The onions could have used a little more time on the grill, but they still added good flavor. The meat was solid, and together it made for a very enjoyable cheesesteak. Kensington Pub gave us a fun atmosphere, a warm welcome for Jennifer, and a cheesesteak worth eating. That's a pretty good day in The Cheesesteak Life.

That was enough to get me in the door. When you first walk in, it looks like a neighborhood pub with a small bar and dining area. What I didn't realize was that there's an entire outdoor space hidden in the back! It's a huge patio with artificial grass, large screen TVs, plenty of seating, and a fun atmosphere for hanging out. They even have a large Kensington Pub display and, my favorite part, the front section of an actual Philadelphia trolley that you can climb into. It was such a cool touch and a great piece of Philly history. Their outdoor bathrooms were so clean and smells so good. This would be a fantastic place to watch a game. Thankfully, it wasn't crowded when we visited, so we were able to enjoy everything. Our server, Desiree, was friendly and attentive. The drinks were a mixed bag. I ordered a light Mike's Hard tea which tasted light!  My daughter started with a lemon drop martini, but it was very watered down, so she sent it back. She ordered a different blue cocktail instead and liked that one much better. I ordered the personal taco pizza. It was the perfect size, and the crust was good, but it didn't really taste like a taco pizza. I've had taco pizza that were packed with bold taco flavor, and this one was a little under seasoned for my taste. The meat was tender, though, and I ended up taking the leftovers home and adding a little extra seasoning. My daughter ordered the taco salad, which was good and served in a large crispy tortilla bowl. Like the pizza, it just didn't quite have that classic taco flavor we were expecting. The atmosphere is what really makes this place stand out. Despite Kensington's reputation, this pub is a hidden gem. Parking can be a little challenging since it's in a residential area, but if you're nearby, it's definitely worth stopping in. I'll absolutely be back to try more of the menu, especially since my daughter lives so close.
